people argue the best meta cards aren't in here, but crashing the secondary market is possibly the best thing to do in this current format, making everything else easier.
@@georgewalters3343 no it's perfect how many there are here. making yugioh affordable is a big deal, not top tier staples but definitely were at one point, and not super long time ago
@@georgewalters3343 it's my fault opening my comment with the word "no" I understand you are agreeing with me. if anything the timing is excellent to spite Jeff Jone's rant on yugioh can only be expensive. in my opinion he should take alot of heat for saying yugioh is not a franchise unlike pokemon, even though yugioh also has multiple decades of video games and anime too.
It would have been nice to have to get something like Accesscode Talker in the set, or maybe even a card like Xyz Encore. I'm hoping Konami does this kind of thing more regularly. I also agree that printing the more sought after cards, like S:P Little Knight, in different rarities in its core set would be a good thing. It makes the card more easily accessible, so those of us who aren't willing to spend $100 on a single card can get it.
One of my friends is just starting to get into yugioh. Another is a seasoned player and is looking to upgrade his staples. I'm a regular player still lacking a few staples like Prosperity or Baronne. This product is great for all of us.
Mostly the set is pretty solid. I just wish stuff like iris swordsoul ice barrier and the DM stuff got changed to even just a few other lower tier staples like e-con, book of moon, d.d crow and borrelsword just to really round out the fact it's making everything so much easier to get for everyone
I wish they would do the every card in every rarity thing for more sets in the future . I also wish with the introduction of so many rarities and changes to older ones like ultimate rare, that they would fit a little space on the card to tell what the rarity is. Because it's kind of hard to keep track of what they are, especially when some of them don't have that big of a difference.
Check this out the set abbreviation for this set is RA01 so there is a possibility that maybe next year they might do something like this again with other popular cards and have them released in different rarities
10:39 I just want it to be cheap for everyone(myself included) to buy...Never limit or semi limit staples such as this. Yes it helps a lot of meta decks dig through their deck and search for that 1 card they need but so what? If almost every deck can play it leave it be...I wanna be able to use x3 copies of Prosperity in my budget rogue decks because it helps the consistency
Super excited to open this. Whatever I get will be fine for me Paul: “Konami believes the proletariat deserves something to play. So you can just pick it [Knightmare Unicorn] up and be happy with it.” 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for giving us a better description of the newer rarities, a lot of tubers have been brushing right over them. Can't wait for my box to get here!
This has to be one of the coolest yugioh sets I've seen and I really hope they continue in this direction. I'd love to start seeing full arts and the like but I know that's been contentious with Konami. I love how there's something for collectors and players and even yugiboomers.
I got the worst pulls of my life on a box of this today. Genuinely didn't get any good luxury rare stuff besides 1 Evenly Matched -- for reference my only QCRs were Benten and Magician's Salvation, and I also got 2 Magician's Salvations in luxury rarities in general as well as 2 Spellbooks of Judgment, which combined were like 1/3 of all the ones in the set. Even lower rarity stuff wasn't good, I got maybe a dozen staples in total ans another dozen niche cards I'd use compared to almost a hundred cards I'd never use in a single deck ever. I got burned so hard by this set that I think I'm done with opening sealed boxes again. Way too much pack filler for a set that's allegedly all bangers.
As someone that is more on the casual side of yugioh I think having something like this is helpful since a bunch of the staple cards cost way to much second hand and having a easier way of getting things like triple tactics and baron de flur is good for everyone that can't drop a couple hundred bucks on one card
If anything this makes cards on the secondary market more valuable. The more a certain card sees play, the more value the high rarity variation accumulates. We tend to see this across every card game. Super looking forward to buying this!
or...you know...the best way to celebrate the game, releasing (non-legal) reprints of Alpha and Beta! $1000 for a box of 4 packs! truly the epitome of celebration
Haha I know you’re excited but I must mention that the word “prismatic” refers to “prisms” and rectangular/square shapes. Secret rares from the tins apply for this as an example. Ultimates and Collectors have no such foil patterns. Great pulls! This is such an amazing set!
There are a few cards like Iris Swordsoul, Ice Barrier, and a few others that could have been replaced with even lower tier staples. Maybe Edison format cards that have less accessibility.
As a player who doesn’t quite have the deep pockets to pay to win, I am stoked Konami made such a box, making some powerful staple cards very accessible now. Sucks for the collectors/hoarders in the secondary market for sure!! Those $100+ cards they’ve been saving up to seek years down the road just lost money 😂
I am absolutely planning on picking this up. Im trying to get back into the game so being able to get a whole bunch of staple cards in one set will help cut down the price of any future deck
I got a couple of the 3 packs and got a lot of fantastic support cards. I wanted to get some hand traps and extra deck monsters I use in my Dark magician deck. I managed to get almost all the ones I was looking for. Absolutely thrilled.
Yeah, I'm alright with this. Even for me when I was young and still played the game I didn't think much or twice about a card's "rarity" I just liked that some had a glossy texture to it and was confused when some had a weird design. What made a card "rare" for me had more to do with "if I had that specific card" not that this was a glossy, embossed, or secret ultra-rare, version worth money.
While singles are cheaper of course this set is the most fun set i have ever pulled. I'm up to 7 boxes which is way beyond my normal pulls when a new set drops.
I kinda wished they’d taken out the random bad Blackwing and Blue-eyes cards and replaced them with time wizard relevant cards but otherwise this set is pretty nice. Looking forward to getting Droplets, Prospies, Avrimax (why the heck was that even an expensive card?) and the alt art unicorn. That Redoer looks real nice too.
Because it had niche decks it went in but also kinda was middle ground between borrelsword and accesscode talker for staple power and it originally was a secret then a mega tin UR so that didn't help
To piggyback on the other poster Avramax was also a pain to out because of I:P, you can't target it with card effects, and if you did out it (Kaiju) it would shuffle one of your cards.
This set is a freaking banger, if this replaced like the Battles sets I would be a-okay with it. Screw the secondary market, I just wanna play the game and have other people play the game without pay walling them out of things like Blue-eyes and Dark Magician for no other reason than to line the pockets of Konami and vendors. Let the whales, whale; and let the players, play.
The identification number for the set is RA01 so there is a possibility they may do it again next year and especially since this is proving to be really popular and Konami is making money hand over fist with it I can’t see them not doing it
@@PsychoKernI think so too every November it’s usually a Gold Series or Magnificent Mavens like set so no doubt this is the Spiritual Successor to those sets plus if Konami wants to get into everyone’s good graces they need to do sets like these more often.
@@Slifer29 Yea I agree. It definitely feels like the next Gold Series. It seems especially likely because we know we’re still getting Quarter Century cards in the TCG in 2024. Hopefully we get Rarity collections (with or without QCs) for the next 2 or 3 years. That’d be really good for the game imo.
@@CoziTCG yes, we will still be getting Quarter Century Secret Rares going into next year the next Core Booster Phantom Nightmare will have QCR’s as the 3rd Printing of Magicians of Bonds and Unity will be in it with a Red Background and even the set after it Legacy of Destruction will have the card with an Orange Background rounding out the set. Technically the 25th anniversary of the Yu-Gi-Oh card game is next year but they chose to begin the celebration this year. Quite possibly, I believe that Legacy of Destruction will be the last set to have QCR’s in them.
Hi, Konami. My favorite rarity, so far, is the new Prismatic Ultimate rare ;) Hi, Paul! I agree that the design of the pack is really neat, probably my favorite even (when it's actually centered lol)! I'm starting out with my Yu-Gi-Oh! collection so hoping to pull some staples. Wish me luck!
I disagree with the end because I think they could have done everything 99% the same without reprinting the Starlights as Quarter Century. Just reprint it in every other rarity. That's my only complaint with this set. The only starlight I ever pulled got reprinted and it's super cringe.
I like the set. Maybe not to buy a box. But at least all the staples in just super rare is great and if. The price drops even more it will be even better. So I can get a playset of almost every good card in here and then some for the price or even less then the box itself. I wished tlkonami does this every year. I also liked the duel devastator box. Nice staples some cards less great. But at least it was a way to get all kinds of handtraps cheap 2
I think it will affect the market for the better, but I'm on the side of the argument for making the game more affordable and lowering the cost for entry (into top meta and staples).
Overall, good thing that they're doing this. Some old reprints and more cards in different rarities is always nice. 5 per pack is a bit...not great. I wish it was like Maze of Memories and had 7 per pack. Maze of Memories had 68 cards total and 15th Anniversary Rarity Collection has 79 cards so it's a bit... But hey, the content of the box is good
Singles market exists which is what most people use. For the money of one box currently on pre sale prices you can get playsets of the past 3 years chase cards.
The higher rarities are pretty cool in this set... but the new Ultimate Rares are TRASH. OTS ultis are perfect, they may have indentations from printing, but they still look so good. The Ultis in this set look like the stickers from the water stores we got as kids in the early/ mid 2000s.
