Hey brother great video! That's awesome you got 27 miles in. It looks so nice there in the ol' Pennsylvania. In the last couple weeks the leaves have changed and dropped and since Friday we have been below freezing and getting snow. It won't be nice weather here until end of May next year. Thanks for sharing this with us. Take care.

Hawkeye Hikes I got super lucky. It was really dry out there. Had a few showers Saturday but the crossings were so dry that it made it pretty easy for us. Yeah, that Pinchot Trail water, particularly on the south part of the loop is red with tannin. Watching this as I might try to knock out the OLP this coming weekend as there is no surf on the east coast; summertime blues.
That tannin water was wild. I thought I needed to filter it again. Lol. This is a fun loop to go backpacking on. I was surprised on how big the Rattlers were. They were huge. Lol. Have fun out there and I’m sure the big waves will be back soon. 👍✌️
MidLife Adventures thanks. I’m missing Colorado though. I still enjoy going back and looking at the trip. Tell people all the time the help you gave me. It was a fun trip in Pennsylvania. Great group of people to go backpacking with. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a good evening

Nice buddy. That place has been on the list for a bit. Nice to see it. That was a fat dog rattler. Pretty sure that place is know for em. Great trip. Thanks for the looky see🤘
The World According To Goat that loop is definitely a fun hike to go one. That place is definitely known for rattlers, but I definitely wasn’t expecting to see 2 of them. Lol. If you go on this loop definitely be careful in that area. Hope we can get together real soon on some backpacking bro.
Great video brother, I would really like to go on a trip like that with some friends but I have a feeling they would throw me off a cliff if they had to sleep in the same camp because of my snoring 😂 nothing like walking up on a couple of rattlers 😳 keep up the great work brother but next time I want to see some cooking 😜
Swamp Stalker Outdoors it was really cool getting to see my friends from Pennsylvania again. Kurt is definitely a loud snorer but we didn’t throw him off of a cliff 😂🤣😂. That was wild seeing those rattlers because it was so cold. Definitely some more cooking outdoors is coming up. In winter time backpacking I bring eggs and biscuits and all kinds of real food. Lol. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a good day 👍
Lynn Bailey it was a really fun trip. I highly recommend it. There’s probably rattlers in Kentucky just never seen them. Mostly I’ve seen copperheads and rat snakes. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a fun weekend.
I'm always down to see those danger noodles when it's on the cooler side. They're a lot less feisty! Sure wouldn't want to get tagged by either of those big rattlers.

We get a lot of coloured water caused by the peat in North Scotland. Always amuses me that folk will not drink it even after filtration. Water fresh and uncontaminated by the water companies, the best you can get :-)
Desmond's Donders the tannins in the water was interesting. I’ve never seen it that color before after filtering. But it was fine. The water was delicious. It was a fun trip with some good Pennsylvania friends. Thanks for watching and commenting Desmond’s 👍

Great looking trip Jason, love the rock formations, wish people didn’t feel the need to leave their mark with graffiti. Cool looking bushcraft shelter too but I’m with your buddy.... too close to the trail. Timber Rattler, yeah I can do without seeing those on the trail, luckily none here in NH. Jeff Murdock I live in Lexington Kentucky. Originally from Floyd Co in eastern Kentucky. I go to the RRG all the time. And I enjoy traveling a lot to different places. I like going out west once a year. Really cool that you live in Kentucky. 👍
Probably off Tunnel Ridge Road to primitive campsites. I tell people to watch their step in RRG due to the many cliff drop offs. Gather firewood before darkness.

I was cold from the wind and rain and I know they had to be freezing. Lol. One of them moved along but it was very slow. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a good evening 👍
I am so glad you came up to hike with us and got some feet on our trails. It was so much fun hiking and hanging out. Until next time, hike on!!!
SkinnyGPanda I always have a lot of fun with you guys!! I’m already thinking of the next trip up there. Thanks for watching and commenting SkinnyGPanda

RESTLESS OUTDOORS that was some fat snakes. I think one of them just got through eating. Lol. It was a windy and wet weekend but it was still a lot of fun out there. Real easy trail to hike. Thanks for watching and commenting Restless and have a good evening , and if I don’t go backpacking with you soon I’m going to go steal Timmy and Goat. 😂😂😂. I’m definitely wanting to go to the Ohio meetup too.
@@BackpackingWithJason you free October 18th weekend?
RESTLESS OUTDOORS doing some section hiking on the AT on the North Carolina and Tennessee border with some buddies from Kentucky on that weekend. Wanna join us on that trip? If not let’s still try something at the beginning of November. At the RRG I could show you some awesome stuff. Or I’d be up for anywhere really. Lol
@@BackpackingWithJason awesome! We'll shoot for something in November!

True North Angler thanks. It was a really fun trip. I’ve been backpacking with these guys for a few years. Pennsylvania was really beautiful. Good times with good friends. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a good evening 👍
No better feeling when you're cold and wet and the sun starts poking thru the canopy like that! I wish I could make it next weekend to the meet-up, unfortunately it's not looking like I'll be able to though 😥.
Go Adventure! I agree with you. I just stood under the sun for like 5 minutes on that Sunday morning. We had pretty rough weather for two days and to see that sun was so nice. I wish you could make it to the Hammock Hang. I was hoping to show you something from Kentucky 😏. If you end up making it find me. Hopefully we can do some backpacking together in the future.
Awesome trip Jason and you have some cool hiking partners with you. Seriously 2 rattlesnakes? Brother I swear they are following you around, it ain’t one of your videos without at least one damn snake 😂. Thanks for taking us along my friend!
Pinetree Line Outdoors I can’t believe how many snakes I’ve seen this year. It’s definitely a lot more than usual. It was a fun trip. Trying to see more places up north. Pennsylvania was really beautiful even with the weather. Thanks for watching and commenting Doug and have a good evening.
Wow a great place to hike Jason. So quiet and peaceful there. Will definitely put this on my bucket list.
Travel with Tommy it’s a great hiking trail. The trail is pretty easy to hike. Not to many up and downs. Really cool scenery out there and they have a couple of shelters out there too. Great 27 mile loop to do. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a good day 😃👍
Thanks for the info Jason.
Pennsylvania will never be the same after your visit Jason Lol !! It’s beautiful country I done some steel head fishing up there come to thinking of it I didn’t see any trash in the water or along the banks that is impressive. Great hike my friend!!!
common man's fly fishing I had a blast in Pennsylvania. That beginning sentence in your comment had me laughing. 😂😂. I was really impressed with no trash. I passed a lot of campsites too. I think it would be fun to do some fishing up there. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a good evening 👍

What a great view at 2:20. Also liked the fog at 7:30. Cool, thanks for sharing.
Libolt Adventures thanks. I was hoping for better weather on this trip but you have to take what it gives you. I still had a blast hanging out with my friends from Pennsylvania. Can’t wait to do some more backpacking up north. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a good day 👍
@@BackpackingWithJason Sounds like that wind was pain, no worries though enjoying the time with friends, and not being inside is what it's all about.
Libolt Adventures the wind is always the toughest thing for me when being outdoors.
Standing Stone Trail is another great PA hike!
jkauf1976 thanks. I’ll definitely look into it. My Pennsylvania buddies are so cool. I always enjoy backpacking with them. Old Loggers Path was a lot of fun too. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
nice day in the wood and the scenery is so pretty

Beautiful hike Jason, the views were gorgeous
My Slice Of Heaven Outdoors thanks. It was fun going to Pennsylvania to see my buddies. Good times with good friends. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a good evening 👍
Take care.
Kirk Hermary I’m looking forward to winter. In the winter time I like to do more Bushcraft stuff. I do love Fall colors though. I just got back from a trip in West Virginia and the colors were popping. I’m definitely going to do more backpacking in Pennsylvania area next year. I’m wanting to see more areas up north. Thanks for watching and commenting Kirk 👍
How did I not see this pop up? Great time hiking with you Jason, glad you made it to Rocksylvania, next time we'll get you some views without the fog. Great video brother!
Kurt Zitzelman Outdoors is always a blast hanging out with you and the other guys. I’m already thinking about the next trip up there. 👍
Beautiful hike but yipes to the snakes! new friend here.
Pople BackyardFarm it was a great time catching up with my friends from Pennsylvania. I’m from Kentucky and this was my first backpacking trip in Pennsylvania. It’s really beautiful out there. Those were some fat Rattlers. I couldn’t believe they were out because it was so cold. Good times with good friends. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a good day 👍
Great video. Looks like you lucked out on some of those crossings!
Hawkeye Hikes I got super lucky. It was really dry out there. Had a few showers Saturday but the crossings were so dry that it made it pretty easy for us. It’s a beautiful forest to go backpacking in. Everything was still so green out there. Really fun trip and I always enjoy going backpacking with those people. Thanks for watching and commenting Hawkeye and have a good evening. 👍
Another great video Jason. Looks like y'all had a good trip.
Joe Hikes thanks. It was a lot of fun hanging out with my friends from Pennsylvania. It was a fun trail loop too. It was the first time I’ve seen rattlers. It was very interesting. Thanks for watching and commenting Joe 👍

Hey Jason,
great video. :)
The mountain dew joke i don't understand, is that a synonym for something? oO
Yeah, trashless woods, that's awesome!!! :)
At least wonderful nature in Pennsyvania!!! :)
Thanks for showing.

Low Budget Outdoor Mountain Dew is a Soda POP that looks yellow. It was really beautiful in Pennsylvania. Loved that I didn’t see any trash in the woods. It was a really fun loop trail to do. Thanks for watching and commenting Paco and have a good evening
Nice to see you out-and-about Jason!

Lol. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a good day 👍
Well heck brother now you got my attention I’ll be watching 😜 yeah them snakes did look a little cold and I’m sure your buddy appreciated that😂
Nice...makes me want to go!

Aww good ol Penns Woods. Thanks for sharing brother.
Fireside Coffee thanks. Pennsylvania was really cool and seeing my friends again was so nice. Can’t wait to do another trail up north.
There Rattlesnakes in Kentucky to and copperheads and cottonmouth. That looks like a pretty nice trip.
Tennessee Trekker I think those rattlers were as cold as me. Lol. They were moving pretty slow. It was a fun trip in Pennsylvania. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a fun weekend 👍
LoL, you believed what Kurt told you about the water.....muahahahahah. Hmm that shelter...Kurt's face says it all. Great vid!
KrizAkoni that opening comment 😂🤣😂😂😂. Kurt didn’t really like the shelter. Lol. But I agree with Kurt. It’s right on the trail and they did cut live wood. Hope to do some more backpacking with you in the future. Thanks for watching and commenting John and have a good evening.
What an awesome video Jason. My mom is form Pennsylvanian. I have never been there but we are going next year to meet up with a few other TH-camrs. really looking forward to it.

Those were some big timber rattlers. I think we have those in TN, but I've never seen them. We have mostly copperheads and cottonmouths. Probably the same for you up in KY.
Bushcraft Ridge I’ve never seen any rattlesnakes in Kentucky. Like you said just mostly copperheads and cottonmouths. Lots of rat snakes in Kentucky too. It was wild seeing those Rattlesnakes. I think one of them just got through eating. Lol. His belly was fat!!
More snakes, eck! And I do not know about that yellow water, but otherwise very nice!
waterfallmadman I’ve seen way to many snakes this year. Lol. That yellow water freaked me out. Lol. He said it was just the tannins in the water. I’m home and not sick so I guess it was ok. Lol. Beautiful area for backpacking. Thanks for watching and commenting my friend and have a good evening.
Those snakes are Huge!!!
I agree!! There was a bunch in that area
Nice video
Wild Boar Channel thanks. It was a fun group to backpack with.
love it gotta go
our world outdoors it was a really cool area. Really loved the forest area. Looked like a cool area to do some off trail exploring.
You want to see rocks, check out the AT in PA.
Jeff Murdock I’m hoping really soon ill be on some of that AT section in Pennsylvania. I hear the Pennsylvania section of the AT is really beautiful and rocky.
wow !! really amazing video...Beautifull Nature....New friend Here...Please stay connected.

Great hike, but I can sure live without the snakes! Next time you’re in Yankee territory give us a ring!!
SectionHiking The AT I had a lot of fun in Pennsylvania. I’m going to plan another trip up North. Would love for you to join us on the next one. Sweeps I’d love to meet and go backpacking with you. Backpacking With Jason Absolutely- and I’ll bet we could get KrizAKoni to come along!
SectionHiking The AT that would be awesome!! Kriz is so cool
Thanks for taking us along.
Buck Tales Outdoors I agree with you on the graffiti on the rock formations. The Bushcraft shelter was cool, but it was very close to the trail. That was the first time I’ve seen a Timber Rattlesnake on the trail. Hopefully the last time too. Lol. I’m not a fan of snakes but I sure have seen a lot of them this year! Thanks for watching and commenting and have a good day 👍
the wind is very strog.. what is the temperature?
Senja Aldee the temps got into the upper 40’s and low 50’s. I’ve been used to 90 degree temps in Kentucky. I was cold!! Lol. Thanks for watching and commenting Senja 😁👍

Michael Jasper no thanks😂😂😂. I leave that up to you. Lol. Thanks for watching and commenting Micheal. I hope your in for October 18th.
I agree with your friend; cutting live trees, and leaving tarps and ropes there when not in use, is not cool. Ya didn't even say hi to IceBear while you were here! 👻 Loyalsock is an awesome trail though!

I think it was in September. Have fun out there. It’s a fun loop to do.
Jason, where do you live in KY? I live near Ft. Knox.
I’ve done primitive camping in Red River Gorge & Mammoth Cave.
Jeff Murdock I live in Lexington Kentucky. Originally from Floyd Co in eastern Kentucky. I go to the RRG all the time. And I enjoy traveling a lot to different places. I like going out west once a year. Really cool that you live in Kentucky. 👍
I hope to be camping in RRG this upcoming February 14-17 with a friend of mine.
Jeff Murdock awesome. Which part are you going on.
Probably off Tunnel Ridge Road to primitive campsites. I tell people to watch their step in RRG due to the many cliff drop offs. Gather firewood before darkness.
The weather wasn’t the best the entire time but looked like an awesome trip, those rattlers were huge! 🐍
Sportsman 101 we did have some wet and windy weather but it really made the forest really green and beautiful. One of those rattlesnakes had to have just eaten because his belly was so fat. Lol. It was a fun trip visiting my friends from Pennsylvania. Thanks for watching and commenting and have a good evening 👍
Jason my wife will not drink water with tannins in it so if she goes with me we have to haul water just for her. Lol
Senior Hiker 77 very interesting. The water seemed ok. Is there a reason she won’t drink water with Tannins in it? Just wondering.
I can only guess that it's the look she says it looks like horse piss. Lol
Senior Hiker 77 😂🤣😂😂😂😂 Lol
Beautiful video Jason...That’s some crazy weather 😆 everything is so pretty when it’s wet though, awesome to see so much green! Cold and wet, you people are tough!! Great to see Panda 🐼 with you!
