“NEW GEAR, NEW CHAIR, AMAZING VIEWS: A JOURNEY THROUGH SUNSETS!”
Blackburn Rock area is one of my favorite places around the Red River Gorge. The views are so amazing and it has a great sunset and sunrise. I really like the Nemo Moonlight Elite chair. I like the 1lb2oz weight and how it packs so easily in my pack. And I definitely like the pad for the bottom of the chair.
If you hike up to Blackburn it will be a dry camp so be prepared. It’s about 4 mile hike. The hike to it you’ll pass by Powder Mill Arch.
If you drive up there it’s a half mile hike to the Vista. Unless the gate isn’t open then it will be around 2 mile hike.

Have you been to any of the arches off of hatton ridge? Bear branch bridge, camp branch arch, danger arch. There are more but the briars get real bad to get to them

I don’t believe I’d be jumping over the crevices if I was there but I would eat one of those PopTarts…. Regular ol’ frosted Grape is probably my fav, but the discontinued Peanut Butter one was pretty dang good too.

Awesome views, great camp spot. I bought that chair and had the same issue with it the Steven from my life outdoors had with it, where it dug I to the backs of my shoulders. I returned it and will stick with me chair zero. Hope to get to hike with you soon!

Check out the link in the description box for the hiking trail. It will show you powder mill arch on the way to Blackburn. There’s a good campsite really close to the Arch. The campsite at Blackburn is a dry camp so you will need to bring water

I can let you know more about it when I take it to rougher conditions. Only plus I see right now is that it comes with the pad and it’s easier to pack.
