I will never forget this marathon. I remember when I first saw Futurama. It was right after Christmas and my older brother and my cousin were spending the night and they were allowed to watch “the adult stuff” and I wasn’t. But one night they let me watch it with them- and Futurama was on. After watching one episode, I was instantly inspired. The writing, the comedic timing, the voice acting. That show single handedly inspired me to be a cartoonist. So I would sneak around and watch adult swim with my brother all the time. Eventually my parents caught on and wouldn’t let me watch it haha... but I do remember when my brother told me “Futurama isn’t gonna be on tv anymore.” I explained to my parents this show was important to me so they gave me permission to stay up late with my brother and watch “The Last Futurama Marathon.” Back then, I was young. And I didn’t realize Comedy Central grabbed the license. I genuinely believed this would be the very last time I’d ever see this show on tv. With that being said however, I truly do wish Futurama stayed on Adult Swim. They treated it so nicely- always promoted it, gave it awesome bumps such as these, and they truly did love the show. They took Bender and added him to their cast of Adult Swim notable characters and stuff. The show made sense on Adult Swim. It was weird, nerdy, and had a specific style of humor. It never fit in on Comedy Central where South Park’s raunchy humor and Tosh.O’s douche bag humor was “all the rage.” Truly simple times... I miss those times.
It's interesting how there was such a giant build-up to Adult Swim saying goodbye to Futurama, with custom bumps and promos, and with it all culminating in a giant farewell marathon. And yet with Family Guy, their AS goodbye was completely unceremonious and almost totally unacknowledged except for a single bump.
Adult Swim aint the same thats why, over the years their bumper & promos game got weaker and weaker for everything & the family guy example is one of many. If FG was the show that left in 2007 you already know they would’ve put a lot of heart into its last day promos

I wonder why they did nothing like this when they lost King Of The Hill and Cleveland Show last year. Comedy Central is becoming my new favorite regularly watched channel lol, the new adult swim. KoTH, Futurama, Cleveland, and South Park (though that never was on [as] but I still like it) Soon, Family Guy is going, it's gonna be the end of an era. They need to do something for that. [as] is the reason Family Guy is still around in the first place.
Adult Swim has such an aesthetic with their promos and certainly their cartoons. We genuinely miss when Futurama was on adult swim. It just made sense there... When we launched our channel, we wanted to try and replicate that style by making absurd and comedic shows just like them with a little adult swim vibe :) Nowadays it is so hard to make a name for yourself on TH-cam, so we hope this doesnt sound pandering but if you like stuff like adult swim, check us out! and if u dont want to that is totally fine. We just really love how people upload their bumps and commercials. It really is so cool.
There's another promo with Bruce Taylor, at the end he says something like, "The last Futurama Marathon, because you can't cut out your heart just because it bleeds all over your dreams". Does anyone remember that one? I've been looking through youtube but with no luck.
I have never been able to get behind or into "American Dad" very much. It is essentially just "Family Guy" as different characters. Why not then just watch "Family Guy"?

@@bradyanderson6311 Because you kept on complaining about fox shows being on adult swim instead of FX. Ever heard of FXX? FX doesn't focus a lot on animated shows, it mainly focuses on comedy and drama shows. It isn't the only channel that doesn't focus on animated shows
