Apparently, these students have no concept of actions have consequences.
Haven't heard one of these virtue signalers speak about the genocides going on in China, Burma, Ethiopia or, Sudan...That makes me think this isn't really to do with Gaza/Palestinians , it's just a way for entitled kids to have something to scream about. and a way to express their true antisemitic feelings. It's a shame they don't do their homework to know the full history like who the true indigenous people of Judea(the true name of what they refer to as Palestine)are, or that Judaism is a millennium older than Islam, or that many very poor Jewish people in Europe pooled their money to buy back some of the land in Judea(that was stolen from them), or that the name Palestinian is barely over a hundred years old and describes an amalgamation of various Arabs that wanted a title for political purposes. That most other Arab countries don't allow Palestinians into their countries That Egypt also shares a walled border with Gaza.. And that Palestinian "refugees" have been on the dole from UNRWA for 80 years non-stop, even though many have Jordanian citizenship. They spew phrases without knowing the historical meaning, or geography they refer to. I just can't figure out how they got into university, really......

This is a more balanced report than one earlier in the day. A teacher saying "Students were crying in despair" is not relevant to the issue at hand. These people (students and teachers) can afford to pay tuition at the school and/pr receive a fairly generous salary to be at in this instance Columbia. Despair is not a word to describe people who chose the actions they are taking. The people in actual despair are people in Gaza who are under threat of attack or the people in Israel who were targeted when the initial rockets entered Israel. If they really want to help, raise funds or get in kind donations which could be sent to people in Gaza. If they say that wouldn't work, have they really tried to improve the lives of others. Get on a bus to DC to protest in front of the Capitol or White House to have elected officials negotiate sending in aid. Or maybe contact some countries' missions at the UN to work on the issue to use their relations to accomplish their goals. Whether students are sad or teachers are in despair is irrelevant to the people of Gaza, Israel and Palestine who have had their personal safety effected by the actions of the leaders of their governments.

In addition to your bizarre arithmetic, there are horrendous atrocities and horrendous hardships that you apparently know nothing about because MSNBC et al haven't reported on it, or you just don't care, such as little kids having to endure limb amputations without anesthetic. If there are any more of the horrific events that genocidal Netanyahu is responsible for that you'd like to know about, let me know, or you could search for non-corporatized, independent journalists, such as Mehdi Hasan, who was fired by MSNBC for telling too much truth.
Here's a question for you to ponder that many people have pondered and come to a plausible conclusion about: Why did it take Netanyahu several hours before he took any action on October 7th, leaving "his people" to flounder in terror for hours, apparently receiving news of the attack from a slow-flying carrier pigeon? If you'd like to know what that conclusion is, again, let me know and I'd be happy to share it with you.

Has Hamas made a point of keeping their activities confined to areas where the populace would not simply become collateral damage? Does Hamas want any sort of peace that does not involve wiping Israel off the map? They haven't really given any signs of that. So exactly what is the point of these protests and disruptions? Disrupting universities, maybe those who disagree with the protest uncomfortable or threatened Is not the most intelligent response. I was told by a university student that a poli-sci prof promised extra credit for the class he taught if students in his classes help organize or attend the protests. Here's the real shocker: 40% OF ALL FEDERALLY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED TO FOREIGN STUDENTS.. That needs to stop; they may be university students, but they are also, still, easily manipulated. Scholarships for foreign students come from the pocket books of hard-working Americans that trudge off to some pretty exhausting and demeaning work environments 5 days or more a week just to put a roof over their heads and food on the table. These students are insulting everyday working Americans. Students blocking traffic on major U.S. bridges was a step too far...I have No respect for them anymore.

If they don't like it they can leave. They have the right to protest absolutely! But they must do it peacefully and recognized if the college decides not to give in to their demands then that is their answer. It's not against the law for a university not to meet their demands!
