    How would a person prepare with information and paperwork for the trip and meeting with Ms. Valdez?

    How would you compare retirement life in Cayalá and Antigua?

      Depends what type. 3 months for spousal ( minimum 1 year of marriage ) or natural born child. Either physically born in GT or abroad if 1 parent is a GT citizen. Other types take longer.

      Hi William, you’re only two years older than me… Please contact my residency attorney friend Aura Valdez. You can see how to contact her at www.livinginguatemala.com/public/The-5-Types-of-Permanent-Residency-in-Guatemala-With-Guatemala-Residency-Attorney-Aura-Marina-Valdez.cfm

      @@williamcagliostro9506 Dear Sir, if you have a serious interest in residency in Guatemala, Lida Aura Valdez is highly qualified to help you. Having said that, for some inexplicable reason you flooded her with emails about your personal problems about how your "life was threatened by corrupt attorneys" in the USA. Although we are sorry that you are going through this situation, it's totally irrelevant to the job of a professional Guatemala residency Attorney. I wish you all the best in whatever you decide to do but Licda. Aura has no further interest in communicating with you.

    Will obtaining a guatemalan passport be at odds with my US citizenship?

    • @livinginguatemala
      @livinginguatemala  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't believe so but you should check with a qualified immigration attorney.

      Absolutely not. The US allows dual citizenship. I have both.

      Might be best to come live here for a few months before you decide... Or are you a Chapin returning 'back home'?

      @@livinginguatemala no I was born in the states but my parents are from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴. So I can speak the language. Served in the US Army for 13 years got hurt so now I have a life pension for the rest of my life. Trying to decide which country to retire and save money. Colombia or Guatemala.

    • @livinginguatemala
      @livinginguatemala  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@expat8460 I would strongly encourage you to visit and live in both countries for at least a few months and then 'think' about deciding. I have no idea how serious your injuries are but you probably have many, many years to live (much more than I do at 63) so take your time, explore and have fun... I lived in Costa Rica for 20 years but never lived in Colombia which obviously much further from the U.S. and the D.R. than Guatemala.
