    fun facts:
    the only battle mexico won was the battle of domimguez ranch in present day california. mexico made the us think it had more than one cannon when it just had one, supposedly by moving it around.
    a group of irishmen in the us army crossed the lines, deserted and joined their fellow catholics in the fight against the usa. they were called the st. patricks brigade. when mexico was losing the battle they refused to let the mexican army surrender and lower the mexican flag, knowing it would mean they would hang for treason.

Did you find any maps with the word America instead of the word The United States? I am not even Mexican, I am from Honduras, but I should assume that you would not know where Honduras is because the way school education in the U.S. is totally different than the rest of the world. The first time the word AMERICA was ever used, was when Amerigo Vespucci finally noticed that the continent America or the Americas was a new continent and not "India" as everyone else thought before him. Once he died, the first map with the "New World" Or the "New Continent" printed on it, came out. The word "America" was printed in the south part of the continent (South America). About 10 years later, the second map came out, but this time, the word "America" was printed on the whole continent. The "new world or the new continent" was named after Amerigo as he was the one realizing that "the world" was a new continent. There is nothing that says that The United States of America, it is called or it was named "America". It is so sad to hear about your guys' education. Soooo poor!

      Right! USA did not take Texas from Mexico. Texas gained it's independence first. Then Texas joined the USA.

    • @DogeMiro
      @DogeMiro 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@Bo2xpro actually Texas forced its independence due to mexico being nice to let americans live on that land, the only requirement was to be loyal to mexico, be catholic and no slavery, by that time there was more Americans in texas than Mexicans. Texas got its independence because they wanted to keep slavery.

      @@DogeMiro Slavery was an issue. That is true, but it was hardly the only issue. The Americans had ties to the United States, not Mexico. In addition, they were accustomed to an egalitarian, democratic system that was not Mexico. The corruption of the central government was also an issue. You might want to read bout the Federalist rebellions. Texas was not the only Mexican state that wanted to separate from Mexico. This was a series of armed secessionist uprisings launched by Mexico 's federal subjects against the centralist government of Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna between (1835-48). There were also earlier rebellions. The Tejanos (Mexicans in Texas) for example were very brutally suppressed which is why they joined the Texans in 1835.

      I don't think the motive of seeing families is at all a major factor in immigration. If that was a major factor, Mexicans would have never left their families and friends behind in Mexico to begin with. The major motive was economic. Mexicans could wear a decent salary in the United States which they could not in Mexico. Here the key factor is capitalism. Capitalism creates wealth, being decent paying jobs. Mexico's experiment with socialism is just one of the many failures of socialism that dot the world. This is primarily what drew Europeans to America and is the primary factor with Mexico. I am always anxious to learn. Do you have a creditable source you can cite providing actual data on motivation?
      Now you are correct that the large-scale migration from Mexico has ceased. Migration from Latin America, however, has not declined, but it has from Mexico. The migrants now crossing the border are more from Central America than Mexico. Again it is the failure of Latin America to embrace capitalism that has resulted in regional economic failure. You seem unaware as to why this shift in migration has occurred in Mexico. It is largely because of NAFTA, opening the U.S. market to Mexico. This has resulted in a massive expansion of Mexican industry which is raising wages in the domestic Mexican economy. It has also resulted in significant internal migration within Mexico from the Central Valley to northern Mexico where many of the new factories are located. (All of this is something that will further develop as Chinese belligerency increases and the American supply chain diversifies. Mexico will be an if not the primary beneficiary.)
      Now you are also correct that some Americans have moved to Mexico. This is on a smaller scale than the Latin American movement to the United States. And most importantly they are not working people seeking jobs. They are retirees seeking low-cost retirement places and pleasant climates. They are also not people seeking Mexican citizenship.
