It's a good looking car, but personally I prefer the pre-facelift headlights, and that gigantic black panel on the lower part of the front-end just looks kind of weird and unnecessary to me.
I mean yes it looks good but it seems like the front bumper is just unnecessary to me, like it doesnt do anything. It wouldve been better if the big panel was smaller and placed under the license plate for me. Maybe use a smaller grill instead of that angry bird green pig looking grill
It would be a great idea to compare the base models to the sport package models, just like you did with the BMW X1 video. For example, with this new 3 series LCI, the base model looks much better, because it doesn’t have those weird and unnecessary black plastic shapes on the bumpers. I also think the previous M Sport package looked more like a BMW should.
The redesign looks better but if I ignore the kidney grill it kind of gives me Volvo vibes from that front end. I think the last great BMW other than the 2018 M2 and M4 competition models was the Z4 m coupe back in 2006, since then the rest of the BMW models have just lacked that combination of beauty and aggression that made BMW M cars so iconic.
You essentially made it look like a smaller LCI 5 series which is good, but you can tell BMW is doing stuff to differentiate their models from one another unlike Mercedes, and especially Audi.
Hmmm. The redesign is giving teutonic Dodge Charger SRT. I like the nods that the pre-LCI G20 initially give to the E46--its busy yet distinctive. Interestingly, the E46 and its LCI revision were themselves nods to the four round BMW face of yore. This 2023 G20 LCI is too careful/bland. Yes, big B is taking a geometric approach to things these days (much like Audi), but the lower grille is now prouder and looks awkward. Reminds me of when Porsche had the same front end for the 996 and Boxster for cost reasons and looked decidedly fish-like. In the rear, looks like they took a chapter from the 992 and just have a plastic insert that's incongruous to whole bumper facia. Again, saving costs. I'll stick with my 2021.
Sorry... this is not topic but.... can you make Passat CC as shooting brake version? Second gen, facelift... all same tail lights, boot lip... only to be as shooting brake 🙃
Pre-lci was actually perfect. Lci looked worse imo especially those up side down L shape DRL and that add-on black piece on the lower bumper completely ruined it. Your design definitely made it look better but still not as refined as Pre-LCI which is not ur fault but BMW's
I don’t know, you made the lines cleaner on the bumper and gave a proper reduction of the air vent, and looks better, however, that thing you took, was added into the side to make a fake air vent so it’s like: ‘same same, but different’ kinda vibe.
I love the new series 3. It's a way better evolution. Clean, smooth, badass... The redesign of the grill is precise and I really wouldn't move anything else. PS: every car looks better without the license plate 😆
I have an amazing idea for the next video for this channel, How about a coupe version of the Toyota Camry feom 2007 to 2011, Like one that could've rivaled the Honda Accord coupe, Or a station wagon Camry, Can you make it please it would be awesome 🙏🏻
I’m curious. What would it look like if you take 1-3 of the best features from each model in the 3 series and make a modern version of all of the “legends”?
Nice re-design, but...every time you talk about intersecting/undefined lines, and you fell into the same trap yourself this time. As you have enlarged the headlights, you can already connect their lower part with curvature part of the grill. This area creates where two lines arguing with each other. Think about that :)
Your re-design looks great but I wonder if you failed to take into account that the kidney grille is very much 3D with a steep angle near the top. The headlights do not have this angle so I don’t think it would be physically possible to make the headlights meet the grille at the point where you have re-designed them.
I think the corporate re-design suffices enough, but I do have to agree that the front bumper needed some work. I think BMW took a conservative approach to the relation between headlight and grille dimensions. As for the rear, it’s almost completely unchanged. I think BMW wanted the 22’ and 23’ model year to LOOK like a mid cycle refresh IMO, whilst having an underlying true redesign. The brand does a great job of making sure previous generations maintain current time relevancy, in other words, I think they want their vehicles to age well.
Fully agree that the LCI looks A LOT better than the previous version. So much so that I have a 330e Touring on order. Thank God BMW didn’t mess with the 3 series 🙏
I think you made the side vents too curvy as speaking of BMW it's meant to look sharp it was falling too quick it should be just a bit wider enough nonetheless I agree to your statement
I’m not sure why, maybe it’s because now the entire front end looks like it’s sitting a little too low now plus the C shape in the headlights in your redesign but I’m getting dodge charger vibes from your redesigned version. I’ve always thought the headlights sat in a weird position where they meet the grille a little too low, reminiscent of the pre facelift E90 sedan with the mustache grille, but I think keeping the headlights a little slimmer and moving the entire front fascia upwards a few inches in your redesign would’ve made it look that much better. Greta job though!
I prefer your redesign, but on the top half of the front I wouldn't do these changes. I dont't like the very small corner you did under the headlights, maybe I would align it with the headlight, and inside these lights, I would go back to the signature of the next generation BMWs, with the G-shape like the F30, that I think looks perfect and is a pretty good evolution of the angel eyes !
I really prefer the pre face lift. The new lights look clean but the lower bumper is just not that nice to me. The black L shapes where the fog lights go seem to have no purpose. BUT by far the worst thing about the front end is that it looks very 2 dimensiontional. Its all to do with that lower central grill as it just looks like 1 big flat bit of black plastic. Firsty its not set back into the bumper so you loose that dimenstion. You then have the larger honeycomb section, the flat section for the number plate, the front senson and then the inlets on the side of the number plate. All these different patters, all black, all on the same level. Theres just no depth to that large part of the front end.
I like your redesign. It seems to me that BMW ventured too far from the days of being criticized for “same sausage in different sizes.” It’s almost as if each model has a different designer that is not allowed to talk to the other designers. How many variations of the kidney grill can be offered without losing the brand identity theme? I do think the 8 series is their best current design. Maybe they feel that the BMW badge is enough to make the model flow with the others? Although even that logo has a blue ring on their EVs.
This car is great, it seems as if you like complicating things. Which car have you designed that is out there, I wish to see it? You know too much for the matter of fact.
Lmao why are crying ? He is just redesigning designs according to his taste, which is appreciated by many viewers. In a way he is giving his opinion about them, thats it.
@@mayormsuthu1465 because he is a designer and he entertains his followers. He isn’t intending to actually change the design, he only wants to inspire other designers how cars could have looked like or how in his opinion the design could have improved. After this channel redesigned the EQS he almost exactly exposed the parts that i didn’t like and showed how good the EQS could have looked like. At the end of the day its entertainment and stuff to discuss about.
For me, this new 3 Series and the X1 are best new BMW. This need to be design language for next models. It takes the good things from older models like the 5 Series and the make subtle differences to create its own thing like the new, not oversized, square-ish kidneys... From me, previous BMW had lost the grace and purity of the past with the 4 Series, 7 Series, X7, 2 Series Active Tourer and Coupe. BMW was becoming this oversized, gross and showoffy brand which its not. I think the best details are the sharp angels eyes headlights... But its my opinion and i know that lot of peoples will not read that.
Every year some car designs are good looking and some cars of our favorite car brands are going to be ugly in the future, to futuristic.I Wil miss the old cars😔😔
Lovely work. I have to mention after redesign if feels like a 5 series. In my opinion. 5 series more like a dad and 3 series is a baby boy. With ur designs look like we have 5 series brother.
Honsetly , the redisign looks like a 5 -series. It is very hard to fix this modern BMW design, I dont know what on earth are they doing or which kind of "designers" they employe, but they should definitly go back to the past
By reducing the size of the lower air intake, your design has lost the balance of the original. The hight of the grille and the intake now look the same.
I work for Mercedes Benz Germany and I have to say, Mercedes has completely lost it with the current C-Class. Its such a huge fail. In pretty much every way possible. Exterior is trash, interior is trash, engines are utter garbage. BMW is absolutely killing it with the 3 Series. What a fantastic looking car. So clean and timeless. Fantastic 6 Cylinder engines. WAY more value for much much less money. Mercedes should be completely ashamed. And like I said I work for Mercedes.
I'm ok with the small, line changes...but trying to "correct" today's bmw design is pretty much beating up a dead horse. The kidney grille is BMWs main issue and I have been saying it has to go away for 10+ years now. It's a rigid, unconnected element that imposes itself too much to have any breath of fresh air,..like the other "bmw dna" elements from the 1970s like the triangualr rear window. Hanging on to all this trash is what makes BMW look rigid and contorted. While more conservative brands like Merceses have managed to stay fresh and look up to date, every BMW looks essentially the same, because these strong "dna" elements come pre-printed on the designers' boards, and they have to essentially connect them with some lines, which is, to say the least, NOT how you do design. No matter what the headlights look like, because unlike on most cars theyre not the focal point of the front; the stupid kidneys are, that's where your eyes land and unlike some nice grilles, theyre mainly an ugly, unrelated design element that BMW decides to keep for some reason.
The new 3 Series LCI looks like a mini M5 😍
I would feel that at 7:55 the 3-series is designed perfectly enough.
It's a good looking car, but personally I prefer the pre-facelift headlights, and that gigantic black panel on the lower part of the front-end just looks kind of weird and unnecessary to me.
Those are only part of the m sports package if you get the normal thing the bumper is way smaller
Same. The gigantic black portion in new BMW looks odd. Pre-Face still looks better.
I mean yes it looks good but it seems like the front bumper is just unnecessary to me, like it doesnt do anything. It wouldve been better if the big panel was smaller and placed under the license plate for me. Maybe use a smaller grill instead of that angry bird green pig looking grill
I really wish this to be the new language. Huge bumpers and small grilles makes more sence than small bumbers and huge grilles
Absolutely nailed this one Sketchmonkey. Good job!
you knocked it out of the park with that redesign

Not often I say it but I think I preferred the pre re-design bmw version, agree on the DRL design though and bigger rims of course 👍
8:50 I like how it looks here
I prefer your re-design, but I like the pre LCI more.
Your redesign looks like something I would buy
Perfect redesign
What happened to the giant lung grill? This looks good.
The redesign looks better but if I ignore the kidney grill it kind of gives me Volvo vibes from that front end. The facelifted model really looks good, it can last for many many years, I'll definitely get one of this for the M340i when it arrives in my country
debating whether to upgrade to LCI or keep current design.
Love the redesign

I agree. I am going to say this for the 1,000,000,000,000th time. Buy the new M3/M4 in black and that's final.

There are M8 inspired aftermarket front bumpers for the pre-facelift 3 series. I saw one with it and it looks better than the M3 or this facelift

For the first time in a looooooong time, I respectfully prefer the original version...
You mean the pre-LCI or the pre-redesign?
it already looks good @6:57
Great video, but for me you’ve made the lower grille a little too thin. Keep up the great work!
That’s a brilliant redesign. I hope BMW takes notice.
You should try to modernize a 56-57 continental
I do think that grill opening being thin is similar to Audi
Literally why couldn't BMW do this on their own? It looks so much better it makes the actual car look like the photoshopped version
I think you made the side vents too curvy as speaking of BMW it's meant to look sharp it was falling too quick it should be just a bit wider enough nonetheless I agree to your statement
Can you do 2016 bmw 6series
completely agree that the mouth was too large

Thank God you are not on BMW’s design team. There’s nothing wrong with the refresh whatsoever!
can you try making a electric muscle car? preferably an electric challenger ?
Why e46 looks better?

Finally it looks like very much profit margin for BMW for build it 🤪

Why do the regular 3 series and the M3 look so different? Is the M3 not a variant of the 3 series?
I don't like thar big slant under the headlights caused by the L intakes which should have been squared off. I prefer the pre-facelift
i like you changes except for the lower corner piece. the shape of it just isn't defined enough
Very nice redesign ! (before increasing the headlight size vertically it was perfect in my opinion)
I really prefer the pre face lift. The new lights look clean but the lower bumper is just not that nice to me. The black L shapes where the fog lights go seem to have no purpose.
