Yes Izzy!! Love your interviews, podcasts would be even better 😊
Fuck yeah brother. Hope to meet you soon - you’re my idol in combat sports and life in general. Much love from a Ghanaian American in Southern California. Bless
Yea
Yh sure
“Not skinny up here 🧠 and not skinny here ❤️” Teddy knows Izzy is a warrior 💪🏼
Izzy is not even skinny I don’t get why people say that
Ikr I've seen him in person bros massive
@@domvlogs3299your too skinny bro!
About his Strickland fight, Teddy said "Israel wasn't as Bruce Lee-like as he nornally is."
Sean in that fight was also doing something Bruce talked about. Bruce said "The best defense, is a defensive offense." Strickland was coming forward with near constant offense and pressure, while maintaining an excellent defense.
Hope you get that one back Izzy and I can't wait to see it!
Strickland got lucky , glad teddy shed light on it .
lucky for 25 minutes straight?@@Deimian676
@@Deimian676
I say that as a fan of Izzy now:
Nah, how can you get lucky for 25 minutes of outstriking a guy?
Did Izzy have an off night? Maybe, maybe not. We don't know
But even if he had, it doesn't even matter
He lost and that's it🤷🏿♂️
The most important thing is just learning what you did wrong there and making sure that some stuff like that doesn't happen again
@@Deimian676 you really think it was all luck that he walked Izzy down beating him up for 25 minutes was luck? That Izzy missed more than ever, and even the hits they did give him were mostly leg kicks and most of them were checked. If the ufc had judges with workings brains, or were fighters themselves Izzy would likely have been at 10% striking accuracy. You think that was luck?
I bet you’re also one of those little downies who think Izzy intentionally meant to get closed to finished before getting a very “skillful” counter vs Alex in their last fight. Hahahaha fr let’s talk about that one, you think Sean was more lucky than Izzy vs Alex? Lol
@@That-One-Spy-MainExactly saying shit like “he got lucky” or throwing excuses out there will only guarantee he loses a rematch cuz this was definitely a skill problem, at least with Pereira you can say it was very competitive and Izzy was up 3-1 and he got caught at the end, Strickland just shut him down that night so it cant be something that’s just like “Oh I overlooked him” because nothing will change
Izzy is spot on...Teddy Atlas is the real life version of Uncle Iroh. One of a kind
@YuldsHD500don’t sell yourself short bro your videos are really good keep working
Teddy is cringe and dated. Glaze more, boomers.

Always loved Teddy. His boxing mind is one of the best in the world. If he and Tyson didnt have their falling out, hed be more revered than he already is.
They peaced it tho thank god now they say each others name with no bad energy they just stay away from each other but no more animosity
Paul Revere
Ah, I was there for Tysons run and honestly, Teddy dodged a bullet, saved a lot of BS and prevented a lot of headaches, Tyson is great to look back on now, but in reality it was 50-50 if he would even show up to the event its 50 Jail or 50 Boxing ring. Not that Tyson had the historically best competition, but he was definitely GOAT of his generation.
Both of them
@Evzsz mma and boxing two different sports. Youre just a casual ufc fan not a true fight fan
Izzy's mistake against Strickland was aiming at the right side constantly. Strickland only had to block one side of the body, but if you replay the fight 80% of the strikes hitting Sean's left landed clean.
You’re super spot on mate 👍
I also strongly believe that Poatan had something to do with it. Remember that left hook? Where did it land? The right side. Shit prob gave Strickland ptsd and he tightened up when facing Adesanya. His adjustments are incredible but I truly believe this was a perfect scenario for Sean and a nightmare of a scenario for Izzy.
Literally
Great observation mate. Izzy posted your comment on his instagram story 👍
Ik lots of people saw Izzy’s story but I’d love to hear more analysis like this from others
Definitely a high level convo, this guy has a pure spirit
For low IQ people, yes.

Izzy comparing Teddy to Uncle Iroh and Teddy not knowing how to take it is GOLD
OMG! Teddy Atlas is a legend but he's so much more, he has a presence. He can read people, this interview was lit! I hope Izzy can do more of this with TEDDY!! THANK U.
holy shit bro. teddy dropped some psychological gems in this. i am not surprised that he's cus' mentor at all. passing down the knowledge man. honestly, some of this is life-changing shit for me. not rushing into the propeller of the airplane and getting it over with. i know exactly what that means. you have to try your best. you have to allow yourself to fail and be confident enough to fail so you can improve. beautiful stuff in this podcast. i feel like someone delivered this message to Francis because this is exactly how he fought Fury... So composed. He genuinely believed in himself when nobody did. Beautiful man.
Dude, check out his interview with Lex Fridman he did December on the 24th. Its a really good deep dive in to his childhood, what happened to his face, his father, Tyson & Cus, betrayal and true friends. Its one of the best podcasts ive ever listened to.
Crazy how Izzy won't use his platform, to talk about all the Christian African's in his home country of Nigeria, currently being massacred. A real ethnic cleansing happening, but only silence from Izzy, has he doesn't care for his people, or he fears denouncing Islam. Pathetic as always. A true coward.
Yeah, he wasn't Cus' mentor, Cus was his mentor.
Izzy is a fake Nigerian bro. He's from Nigeria by birth, he's from New Zealand by growing up. @@SatoshiShin

“Israel Adesanya” - The story of the greatest comeback in combat sports history!
If Teddy didn't become a trainer and fight analyst he could've easily followed a path into psychiatry. He's got more than one, but his greatest gift is a keen ability to understand what's happening in someone's mind and how it can be leveraged as a strength or exploited as a weakness. A lot of what it takes to be a great trainer can be taught and learned, but I think that reading people on the level that Teddy does is a much more unique character trait. He also appears to have a genuine deep love of what he does and so he's always willing to share his insight with the world. Thank you for all of your contributions to combat sport Mr. Atlas. 🥊🏆
Cus taught Teddy well.
Could listen to Teddy all day! And love hearing Izzy’s insights on mental game, life and fighting. Great chat gentlemen 🤝 Both Legends
Amazing conversation between 2 genuine people! Loved to see this.
Yes Izzy, you’re in the back end of your career so please, do the work, acknowledge the weakness and unleash the beast we know is inside of you. Looking forward to your next fight brother.
The mutual respect between Teddy & Izzy is on full display here…. I enjoyed this very much & I thank you both for being so humble & passionate about the science
what an awesome podcast, you can see izzy’s mentality, as strong as it is, being picked apart in a way that both highlights his strengths and his weaknesses. amazing combo, in all honesty i’d love to see a pod with nicsick down the road maybe when he’s done fighting or a strickland rematch isn’t likely, i feel like it would be awesome to see both sides of the fight and how they prepared and executed their gameplans
Yes more podcasts!! Awesome video. We will see you soon champ. Enjoy the well deserved break!
Awesome episode! Teddy is the man and great to hear his advice. I might be wrong here but I've followed your journey since the 1st time you stepped in that cage and since the 1st video you put out. You inspired me. 1st time I saw you step in that cage I was like holly shit! this dude knows how to bring out his Kurama. Every fight it felt like you unlocked a new jutsu, I felt like each camp leading up to Alex you were still that young Rock Lee.
I felt after getting that W with Alex you lost some of that. I may be wrong here but shit it cant be easy to continue feeling like a white belt when you the champ champ champ for this fucking long and have the self belive you do. Looking at your body language in this video I can see that again.
You steping up to that cage and telling your Kurama. Its time for another run dog! and fuck I cant fckn wait to see you live again.
Big ups champ!

Izzy, when you introduce a guest, give him a good intro. Even if everybody knows him. A 2 - or 3-line compliment works. A fun compliment or actual accomplishments can set the tone of the interview
I agree! Introductions are a "must" for good interviews.
I liked it, Izzy set the tone for a great CONVERSATION not a great “interview”. I think that’s why this was so interesting and wholesome to watch

Izzy, THANK YOU for sharing this video. Just like you, I needed to hear this though not in respect to martial art but rather with life's struggles. Thank you, Teddy for graciously sharing your wisdom. Izzy, you've achieved the highest level in MMA yet you continue to want to learn, right the wrong, and open new "doors." You remind me of GSP. This is what sets you apart from other champions in my eyes.

WHAT A WAY YO START OF THE YEAR! 2 GOATS🐐
Teddy's knowledge and wisdom, always transcends the wairua, if your willing to listen to the hikoi he takes you on, through the way he speaks and flows with it on a deeper level. Levels to the mind, spirit, soul, and how this is expressed through physicality. As Francis showed by example in a great example of a fight...patience is virtue, virtue is knowledge, knowledge is wisdom..peace✌🏾

Great interview!
After hearing Izzy talk about his fight with Sean how he told Eugene to let him let loose and Eugene insisted to stay technical. It confirms what I have been thinking all these years. all the boring fights Izzy has been in or didn’t do well it’s because Eugene wants him to stay technical which doesn’t always work , when Izzy just freestyles and just goes by instinct, he fucks people up like he did in the Brad Tavares fight , Robert whittaker 1 , Paulo costa and when he knocked out Alex. I don’t think you can defeat guys like Sean or Ddp by being technical.
😂😂😂😂
You’re WAY oversimplifying it. The Costa fight was gameplan to a T. There was no freestyling or brawling in that fight. He destroyed Costas leg for a round and a half and had him jumping at every feint, set up a nasty head kick, then finished him with a counter hook. The Pereira KO was strategy as well. It’s the same right cross he caught him with at the end of rd 1 in the first mma fight. He knew he could counter off the fence when Alex got reckless thinking he had Izzy hurt. Every fight has a gameplan. The boring fights he’s been in were because his opponent either didn’t engage or couldn’t engage and Izzy picked them apart at distance. Who knows what all caused the Strickland fight to go down like it did, aside from a masterful performance from Sean, but it wasn’t as simple as Eugene coaching him too conservatively.
I agree 💯 it happened even in the Alex’s 2 fight, euegen was so worried that Izzy was too hyped and kept on trying to calm him down and was like ‘No am okay I just wanna be in a fight ‘ and we all saw what he did to Alex. Eugene should let Izzy be Izzy and style on people if the game plan is not working. #FREESTYLEBENDER
Izzy on the come up was the real stylebender 😮that Brad Tavares's was epic
@@user-co7yl3kr3t Did you not notice a pattern in what you just said? You referenced Costa and Pereira 2 fights but both of those fights ended in the first two rounds.
Israel is talking about the fifth round against Strickland in which he was down 3-1 going into the fifth and wanted to go out on his shield and look for the finish but Eugene told him to stay technical which doesn't make any sense because he was already losing the fight on points.
It would've made perfect sense for him to have done that and he may have potentially won the fight because it would've caught Strickland off guard. We saw how Silva submitted Sonnen in the dying seconds of R5 despite the fact he was losing the whole fight.
We saw the way Leon knocked out Kamaru with less than a minute to go in the fifth round. Adesanya would've been best to have thrown the kitchen sink at that point. Sometimes you need to forget technique.
Despite teddy being a boxing guru
