    Band reunion show. This song, Ain't No Big Thing, features The Original Spontanes singers James Bates (Carolina Beach Music Hall of Fame) and Ron Ownbey. Additional vocalists included Monk Ghantt, Marti Wetzell Sell & Mike Black; Monk Ghantt has also been inducted into the CBMA Hall of Fame.
    Band members for this song included: Mike Black, bass; Bruce Flynn, drums; Ernie Hawkins & Randy Whitesides, keyboards; Jim Monroe & Doug Burns, trumpets; Tyrone Jefferson, trombone; John Alexander, alto sax; Eddie Blair, tenor sax & Ed Crotts, baritone sax.
    Five former bands that were widely popular in the Southeast U.S. during the 1960s and '70s participated in this memorable two night show. Performing bands included The Original Spontanes, The Counts, Image, The Fabulous Flares and Gaston. A number of the reunion musicians had not performed together in over 40 years.

    Love this song. I remember listening to this cruising in my 65' Cyclone in the wild years before I went to 'Nam in 70.

    I love it. I'm a little partial to the Pittsburgh Electrons version back in 67, but love this two. Great song and band.

    Man what memories from The Pines at Royal Pines the summer of 1967. Spontanes were there very often and the show was always awesome. RIP Ronnie Owenby.

    i saw then at ocean plaza in Carolina beach in 1973 they made a lasting impression on me

    I accidentally came across this song listening to a Pittsburgh Oldies Station. The Radiants has a version of this song too. Love them both!!!

      Sadly no, Neil. Wish it were so; this was a special reunion event that brought many of the former bandmates back together for a for charity event.

      We all dressed up like we were still living in the 40s 50s 60's 70's
