I am so happy I found this!!!! This is thee best setup for the finish line. I was thinking the same thing with the side pieces, but never thought of using thin sheet of particle hoard as a base. I'm going too make this and I'm so excited. Myself my son and my wife will love this on our Hw 6 lane racetrack. Thank You 😎👍
I got the one I use on my channel for $3 at Goodwill. I just use a couple of bricks to keep my finish gate in place when I extend it out to a scale quarter mile, but job well done on your design and presentation! Easy, and came out looking great! I might have to try this so I can customize the finish line/gate/area like you did. Thankx for posting!
Fantastic show and tell build! I like this enough to build a double stacker for the Monster Trucks and when I do I'll give you credit and a link to this video, Thank you for sharing!
I took two pieces of little boards I think they were like 1× 2 s .then I used my rotary tool Then I traced the bottom part of the finish box . If it was to big , then I used that window seal foam that sticky on one that also made it more stronger when cars go through
Love your videos. I'm now addicted to collecting Hot Wheels. I stopped counting all the tune up towers I have now and have restored. I just got two more and I think that is 10! Keep up the great work. You are the best!!! I have about 300 pieces of 2 foot vintage redline orange track. Some are getting hard and brittle. Should I condition the track some how so it won't become brittle? Any HW collectors here from Fresno, CA?
Really nice how-to video with a process anyone can follow. Your Wordpress site is equally cool, with a ton of Hot Wheels information. I also have a 6-lane HW racetrack and love taking it to various events. Do you have any cool ideas for a better starting line triggering system? Sometimes the two cars that sit side-by-side next to the trigger lever get caught up when released, unless the lever is pulled back perfectly straight. That causes race restarts which are a bummer and delay the fun. You can remove the lever easily by removing the phillips screws underneath; I have already done that as a test. In my opinion, a cool starting line triggering system would eliminate the potential for car hang ups, and would add a new level of excitement for the person running the start line. Thank you in advance for your consideration on this matter!
My hope is someone will start 3d printing six lane 180° curves in packs of two for some pikes peak style racing using the six lane as a starter. I wish hot wheels would have done or do this themselves, seems obvious to me that it would sell well with hobbyists and kids alike.
Honesty ur kind of a dinosaur to most hot wheels lovers like me but there's nothing wrong with that actually most of the original hotweels sets are better than the ones today and I love your videos too!
Hey there. Thanks for posting this - I just picked one up and am looking forward to showing it to the kiddo! I'm curious, where can we find elimination lane mergers? In addition to extending it, I think the kiddo would love to have that added at the end for some exciting racing action!

Great job on the finish line! I think the old track is faster than the new stuff!👻👍
I like the high side wall modern track. For some reason my cars don't stay on the vintage redline track very well.
Big fan

I made this just the other day and it works great, thanks for the tip.

That’s one “crafty” way to set up a track. Very informative. Thanks Smackeral
Thank you! My kids are I were trying to figure out a good way to do this!
big fan of vintage tracks and cars bro
Hi from France ; GREAT Job on the finish line ! Sure it's a nice idea to extend the HW 6 lane raceway ! All the best.
Finish line looks awesome! Job well done, sir.
That finish line is great! I definitely want to try to build one soon!
Wow before u built the track as soon as I herd 72 ft
My jaw just dropped
Nice job on that finish line extension
As always, great video and how too.
I agree with Ghostjerker ! 👍🏻👍🏻
Another great demo!

Great video as always!
Actually, 8 feet of track is plenty. You just have to lower the starting slant. It is usually too high, causing the cars to roll way too fast. 😃
Great video! I just got this 6 lane raceway and was wondering how i could extend it. Thanks!

Can you show us how the rod runner works and inner workings?
👍👍 two thumbs up 👍👍

Nice mod, do you perhaps have dimensions for the wood pieces?
Smackeral Cafe, do you have a Facebook page? I'd love to show off what you taught me to make today! The checker duct tape looks fabulous!
Smackeral, it would be cool, if you could post the Wood thickness you used for the gate, the rest is easy
The particle board base is 1/8 x 9 x 12 inches.
The 2 wood supports are 3/4 x 1 1/8 x 8 inches.
Smackeral Cafe Thank you that's cool, I'm getting some checker duct tape to decorate the wood bit finish gates
Smackeral Cafe what are dimensions of the cut out portion?
Great video do you have a hot wheel collection?
You should also do a hot wheels restoration ehh?
