  • Today we will be bringing you along as we visit a tribal village that changed our outlook on life. Over the past few weeks, we have been sailing through the Philippines and exploring its beauty and natural wonders. We have also been taking the time to visit the local towns and cities, to understand new cultures and the people that represent these majestic Islands. On this particular excursion, we wanted to focus on creative positive ripples by offering something in return. Stick around as Doc packs his medical gear, and the crew ventures into Coron, and then to a small tribal village in Barangay Marcilla, Phillippines.

Our mission is simple: Sail the world while giving back to the remote communities we visit along the way. Every 2-3 months we bring a new crew of novice sailors on board. People who want to explore the other side of their comfort zone. Well, we take them under our wing, teach them how to sail, and explore some of the less explored parts of the planet together. We really just ask one thing of them: help us leave the most significant impact possible along the journey. Amongst the many islands and communities we have visited, we have met some of the most positive, kind, welcoming, and innocent people imaginable. These people are often so generous and special, however, they often times lack basic necessities - proper clothing, health care, medicine, etc. We want to have the most profound impact possible. But to do that we need your help. First, subscribe to the channel and join the community. Second, consider joining our Patreon or donating on our webpage to help us cover the high costs of maintaining the boat and our travels to these remote places.

Speaking from personal experience the healthcare in Philippines is not the best speaking from the resources stand point. I went to the hospital in El Nido, the staff was so nice and knowledgeable but what shocked me was there was no running water for example. It really touched me and what you’re doing is super important.

It's very true. We have seen that people from these smaller and simpler communities are often much more gracious and welcoming. We are grateful for the experience 🙂

our extended family on the mother side (aunties and cousins who are doctors, nurses, lawyers and their friends and with the help of some tv/media networks) organized several medical and relief missions for years in their hometown of san jacinto, masbate.but just like we could just done so much.we wanted to establish a foundation for that but due to financial limitations we could not.but just like you,i/we are hoping for the ripple effect.good luck on your noble mission here in the philippines!

Yeah, we sometimes struggle with the idea that creating a long-lasting impact can be very difficult. And sometimes we feel that our efforts don't go far enough. But with each of these projects and visits, we learn something new. We hope that through this community we are trying to build, that we can have more resources and a stronger impact. Thanks so much for watching!

Aw thank you that means so much! We know that it is a gentle situation, coming in as strangers often not having a great understanding of the ways of life, and the challenges that the locals face. But it means so much to get this encouragement and to know that our efforts are appreciated. thank you ❤

@@SailingRippleEffect my travel buddies from Manila do it every year but pandemic struck, so for the last decade or so we've been sharing schools kits and bags to remote islands in the 🇵🇭, so I know the feeling you had on being welcome and appreciated by the locals. The food offering, the gratefulness through their smiles and just the honesty of my fellow Filipinos -- our hearts are full. Yeah it thus feels so good, check out #lapisplease outreach too

    you lot are amazing
these are the people and towns
that MPs and governments are not interested in
if they even know they exist
in this day and age it is unforgivable
    the rich get richer
and these people and more like them
are just left to fend for themselves
but still manage to smile through the adversity
