      Myself and a work colleague used to call it being "Duraplugged" in honour of those rubber mains plugs from the '80s that everyone forgot to put the cover on the wire before wiring them up.

    It looks lethal for sure. I converted a Razor E300 to have a ~1600W output with a 16s lipo and it's geared for about 28mph. If you go over a road repair strip without bent knees then it'll tankslap. I have a 160mm disc brake on the front and the original drum on the back.

  • @flitsies

    Ok I think the reason behind why your regen fails to slow you down could be that which was explained about EUCs that you need to have your battery always short of being fully charged, once the battery is fully charged there is no regen as there is no where for the charge to go, so you must keep your batteries at a level that ensures there is somewhere for the charge to go.
    Therefore if you keep your batteries always a percentage lower than fully charged you will always be able to get regen braking, but if you keep them too high your regen will kick in and potentially fail once the cells reach fully charged off regen.
    I believe in the early days of EUCs people crashed with them due to this problem which they figured out pretty quickly.
    Also don't forget that tyres are rated for certain speeds so may become a potential failure point.
    Hope this helps.

    • @Blox117
      @Blox117 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      actually the charge CAN go into the batteries, but the BMS or controller will normally stop that from happening to prevent fires

    I lost my brakes at 22mph, needless to say I needed new pants as it was going down hill and around a bend which is why I wanted to slow 😂. Really enjoy this, again as I always say I really want an extender put on my scooter but in not going to fiddle with it myself rather a tech did that.

However a little after that he passed a Nissan Navara (5:18) for about 400 ms. I found conflicting information about the exact length of that car but let's say it is about 5 meters. That comes up to around 45km/h if my Math is right

    Buddy please ensure the brakes are really solid if you want to invest a bit I have a solution where you could mount mechanical or hydraulic brakes to the motor ...it’s a bit expensive mod but works 100% it’s a Russian brake caliper mounting mod to the front fork and you’ll have to change the stator plate that covers the magnets and the stator to accommodate the new pre fabricated disk slot ! Sorry if it’s a bit confusing but if you reach out maybe I could guide you a bit and collaborate if you wanted to ! Thanks ! I have some ideas but I could make those work in reality only on closed circuit tracks under supervision because of the ridiculous speeds !

    Give it a while after you stop - the motor will get hotter! At least the surface of the motor will get hotter, because its constantly cooled by that damp air you got there as you are moving, but when you stop, the heat from the stator will heat the surface up.

    I still keep forgetting to get the weather resisting/proofing parts and rings on outdoor ethernet cable after all the crimping is finished; for running ethernet cable to outdoor security cameras. Some times I'll be like "Oh crap, I just crimped this cable and forgot this ring. But I didn't crimp the indoor end yet", then I go through all the trouble climbing through bushes and climbing ladders and fences to run a little ring from indoor-end to outdoor-end even though it is easier to just re-crimp the cable.

    My 150 amp sabvoton will not provide ANY regen, unless the battery voltage falls below 78 volts. No adjustments in the parameters to change that. So I only charge my 24s LiFePO4 pack up to 80 volts. But also decrease Amp/hrs of battery in doing so. In my case, a 22s battery would make more sense. cheers!

    This is awesome, but maybe put on some gloves though and a full face helmet at those speeds.

    I'm building an ebike atm and I'm a bit confused about regen.. if the battery is fully charged, does regen work at all?

      It should not, if you charge an electric car to 100 % you also don't have Regen at the beginning.
