- Explore our 500 year old English cottage in Wiltshire. All the cottagecore vibes! The cottage is located on the grounds of Iford Manor, home to the world famous Harold Peto gardens (which I'll show you around in another episode) and dates to between 1200 and 1400AD. It was originally the stables to the manor before being converted into this beautiful fairytale cottage.

As an Australian, I grew up with alot of English TV shows in the 90s. As a result, places like this have drawn me and I'm dying to go and see them lol. Old cottages, gardens, "postman pat" style roads next to a cobblestone wall haha, it's so british! I'm 35, been to so many places but it's definitely about damn time i go visit England.
Sounds like you need to book yourself a trip and come explore the English countryside 🥰 There is so much charm and beauty about much of the country and every county is so different.
I'm Australian too and I was lucky enough to visit the UK twice as a girl. Then at 21 I went for 6 months working and holidaying. I got to look after older people in their homes, aged care. Live in aged care so the people that could afford that had gorgeous homes.
I would say save up enough money to go for a few weeks. Stay in London a few days but then hire a car and drive but make sure you go to the very south, then make your way up and visit Wales and Scotland. Each place is very different. You can get great deals on cars and come back and drop them off near the airport on your way home. There are so many different places to see that are all different. But go. You'll love it.
Better hurry. As an American I just got back a month ago.... it looks less and less like England nowadays

Oh, I loved every inch of it! Especially the dog lamp in the niche! Americans, in general, do not appreciate preserving what is already there and quick to gut every quirk and historical artifact with cheap new replacements. In with the new, out with the old, even if the function is the same. It's so wonderful that you appreciate what is there. 🇺🇸

As a 66 year old African American male grassroots Republican who resides in Macon Bibb County Georgia 31201 who have always enjoyed the finer things in life, I want to take the time to Thankyou for sharing this video featuring this tour of an English country house and garden. Their are traces of the English village architectural landscape here in Macon Bibb County Georgia 31201 during the Early Republic years here in Macon Bibb County Georgia of the decade of the 1820s and 1830s of which Macon was founded in 1823. Thank you :) I'm glad you see it too - it feels a lot more like that during the warm summer days when things are fully in bloom as the variety of trees they have planted there have a very mediterranean vibe. It's a gorgeous garden all year round though and can't recommend it highly enough, well worth a visit. Full garden tour video will be coming soon once it's had chance to bloom.
Some may not know it, but the crows of Great Britain and Ireland actually have a much different call than those in my homes in western US and Canada . Just hearing the crows in the video brought back memories !
It's the accent
The house and the views are breathtaking. Perfect area to film in the rain. I love the cute kitty with the huge fluffy tail. Thank you for this interesting and relaxing tour.
They truly are something special ❤ I have to return here a couple of times every year, it's just blissful. Oh yes the cats too! There are three at Iford, the first one you saw was Aslan then the one later in the video was Busy - they're both Maine Coon's. Then there's a third kitty called Lottie but she's a little more elusive. Hopefully I'll catch her when I return and do a full garden tour :)
What an absolutely delightful place. The cottage is such a romantic place and so well decorated. Then you went with your book to a courtyard that had many arches. Wow. What a magical and inspirational place. To have access to the gardens when nobody else was around too, marvellous. I wouldn't want to leave. The Bridge Tea rooms were wuaint and old worldy. I love the history in the small British towns. You're so lucky to live there. 💓

Truly somewhere special. Wiltshire is SO underrated isn't it? It has some of my favourite places in the country! From the gardens to the country houses, pubs, villages..it's wonderful. You were lucky to get to call it home for a while ❤

So picturesque, some of the video scenes looked liked paintings....loved the old cat at the beginning of the video & the other younger one later on, they both looked like Norwegian Forest cats with their long hair & bushy tails...I wonder if someone looks out for them...the colors inside the cottage are so perfect for that space...great tour!
