Wound up being also intermittent short in wiring harness for inj # 3. Took 6 mo to figure it out. Only acted up infrequently due to normal engine shake.
I have a cylinder 3 glow plug failure. Tried new glow plugs. New wiring harness. This is going to be my next step. Hoping it works. Thanks for showing the location.
Wow your engine looks great. I've got 250k on mine. The benefit of what may seem like excessive felt under the hood and cowling is that it reduces the considerable noise put off by the TDI engine. Even the under-engine splash guard has padding that reduces engine noise considerably.
Jonathan Anderson ahh ok. i like the sound of my diesel. these r pretty quiet engines anyway. i havent noticed considerable noise increase. i did get rid of the plastic splash guard under motor and replaced with evolution aluminum skid guard. yes car is in immaculate condition. thanks
Hi Malach, I have a 2002 ALH, changed all glow plugs including coolant warmers with new connectors. Car cranks off quick, but stumbles first few moments…….do you think this may be a faulty glow plug relay? Have replaced the 109 with OEM (learned this the hard way)!
Fuel delivery possibly. Change fuel filter AND check valve on fuel line by fuel filter. Could be pick up assembly. Get bi directional scanner. Xtool d7
Thanks, got under the dash for p0671-4 codes looking for GP relay...nothing there! This helped. Mine fires, but stops in a second, by the time the starter dis engages. 250k, second pump, fresh fuel filter. Also has code for high input from throttle position sensor. Would this cause a problem continuing to run?
I found a glow plug relay that looks the same and amazon says it fits my car but the last 3 digits on the front are 094 instead of 023. Do you think it will work?
Hi, Great video. I have a 2003 TDI Jetta as well and have had the injector pump replaced under warranty and just started throwing the glow plug relay code. I am having the intermittent miss and throttle surge. I have had wiring harnesses tested but to no avail. Did you solve your problem? Thanks
Mike Pope bad harness AND fuel cavitation from fuel overheating Remove engine cover, bonnett and drill out pick up tube in fuel pickup assembly intake line only. Replace fuel filter. Watch my other vids on tdi. 03 jetta.
That's really clean engine. Nice. I also have Skoda Octavia 1.9tdi diesel 2006 . Which engine oil you use and can you advise some maintenance tips you do? Any additives you use? Thank you friend.
Mobile 1 synthetis turbo diesel. Change fuel filter often. Change gear oil 50k. Chevron diesel or only buy from same gas station. Timing belt n wp every 100k. Suspension bushings 100k. Rebuild inj n new turbo 150k.
@@organicvids This is good intel, Thanks but can you clarify the bit about hood bonnet? You mean the hood itself? Did you find the short visually or with a meter? Thanks.

Yes
How do I remove the plastic under the wiper blades to get to it?
Remove blades, remove black plastic plugs in rain guard hiding screws. Dont break it removing it go slow, the edges get caught.
I'm stuck in a parking lot right now because my car won't start. What did you do to fix it?
Get vag.com scan tool.
Make sure you turn the key to start position
Turned out my spare key was not programmed. So when I used the right key the car started fine but was giving the same codes and symptoms of this video
What was the car doing wrong mine is flashing the glow plug light and won't stay running
I state it in the vid.

Look at prongs position

Hello mate ! Thank you dor your video , but i have 2000 1.9 golf 4 ALH where i can find the glow plug relay for my year . Thank you
Listen 2:30 closely. Its under dash.
You wouldn't believe how many pictures and videos don't show that location. Thanks
You ever figure it out?
Short in wiring harness. Intermittent.
Hey budds like what I'm seeing I'm having same issues
What was the outcome?
Short in wiring to ecu and inj 3. Fuel cavitation from hood bonnett. Hood bonett caused the issue. Mechanics broke wires trying to solve it.
@@organicvids This is good intel, Thanks but can you clarify the bit about hood bonnet? You mean the hood itself? Did you find the short visually or with a meter? Thanks.
@@peteguenther1425 the hood bonnet is the garbage insulation stuck to hood. I traced continuity of wires to ecu using meter.
@@organicvids
Actually Bonnet is the term that Europeans use for The Hood !
good video.
do you know where is this glow plug relay on a 2000 jetta ?
thank you.
Eric Hudson under dash
