Masbate Philippines - Buntod Marine Sanctuary Sandbar

  • Today is our first full day in masbate island in the philippines, we will be visiting buntod marine sanctuary which also has a sandbar there.
    Buntod marine sanctuary is located around 15 minutes tricycle ride out of the city. There are 2 or 3 jettys that you can get the boat from to reach buntod so your tricycle driver will take you to the closest.
    The boat across to buntod was 500 pesos for the boat for the day and then there was a small entrance fee to pay on buntod itself, something like 20-50 pesos per person. You also have the option to rent snorkel and masks there aswel as other options, also you can get drinks and snacks there to.
    If you plan to go to buntod marine sanctuary you will be better served to go there on a week day in the morning as early as you can so that you have least amount of people there, or in our case nobody there at all. This is a general rule in the philippines, locals dont often travel on weekdays.
    The sand bar is perfection, pure white sand with no rubbish at all with the clearest water the philippines has to offer. When you think of the philippines beaches and sandbars with water colour this is the place to come to.
    Masbate is a hugely underrated island in the philippines, there is some untouched beauty there that tourists just are not aware of and even filipinos are also not aware of and we will be showing you everything that we found on our trip in masbate.

    Just found your channel and love your choice of off the beaten path! But best of all, it's the rawness of your reaction and comments. I hope you continue to be honest and not be like other vloggers who please the mainstream filipino viewers to gain subscribers. Thank you!

    • @CoshanUncharted
      @CoshanUncharted  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi april, reading made us super pleased and happy that you recognised what we try to do which is keep off the beaten path. We made that concious decision after our 1st trip to ph.
      We can promise you right now that no matter what happens or how much we grow or not that this is how it will ALWAYS be on this channel and i can tell you why.
      We made a concious decsion when we started this channel that once we got quite comfortable and felt ready we would stick to being off he beaten track because we dont rely on youtube to make profit with money like most other vloggers. Any money made from this channel will help buy and keep our equipment up to date and any money left over we will be giving away back to filipinos who need it. We go back home to work for money we need so when we come back to ph we dont habe any money worries like working or making videos for views. We refuse to make vlogs for views and we no that going off the beaten path will not make us money or grow this channel faster but that is how we like it and thats what makes us different to many other vloggers. We have both talked about this a lot actually and we both said straight away that we will always stay in places like we do now and we never want to go away from what we do now. We love the philippines so much and everything that comes with that and we wouldnt change it for the world.
      We hope that we do the philippines proud and became a loved channel that will always promote the philippines and become filipino like kyle jennerman, this is our goal😊

    The mangroves don't only serve as barriers from tsunamis but are actually home and breeding grounds for fish, crocodiles and other sea creatures so they really play a big part in the overall ecosystem!

      heyyy lena really happy you enjoyed the vlog so much 😊 To us philippines is our home and is were we feel most comfortable and relaxed and we feel like we want to show off these places that are seen as "not safe" or "dangerous" and show people that ph is entirely safe in most places. Masbate has very little money and its our duty as philippines lovers to try to help these places and also to show filipinos who dont get to travel so much great places were they can go for holidays on weekends 😊 We dont want to be those vloggers who only go to el nido and boracay, those places have millions of videos already

    I think that's the cassava rootcrop itself. Yes, it is boiled and maybe sprinkled with coconut and sugar. We dip it in sugar. It solid creamy and it got roots which you don't eat. Some dip it in something salty preserved fish. It depends on you. It's a good snack.

      Coshan Uncharted . Well stay more longer next time on Philippines, i mean no running from point B to point C only and you will see real Philippines far away from Tourists lambda can touch . Im talking with Filippinos pple here in 🗼, they told me : " humm Filippinos want to go to the west and westerners want to go to the east , there is a kind of mistake somewhere don't you think ? " .

    • @CoshanUncharted
      @CoshanUncharted  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tgere definitly some big mistake, a lot of asians want to come to the west but i have no idea why. I guess its for financial reasons but people are so much happier in asia even when they have little money. Asia life is so much more relaxed with no stress abd good weather. I am hating the fact we must go back home to work again and save money 😣. Next year we plan to stay in ph for like 4 months 😊 im lookingg forward to that a lot

      You Know Phips are not that great for males on Philps. I mean its a matriarcal organisation, mâles must work for ( all) the family and Females are managing ( all ) the couple money . Same on Big families many times the elder must work for the youngers and can not manage her money job . Very oriented family is a good thing in theory but in fact there is no choice or escape. Im really sure Angelino will not confirm that 😋.
      That is for pple working inside Philps.
      The overseas are heroes on Philippines cause they send so many devises for the country .
      Another thing about Asia, no real
      Retired plan so see comments up, and no free médical care so same problèms.
      As single, If you have little ( not just à little ) money you can hv a real retired life on Philippines, i mean if you paid for ( all ) the familly too .
      For couples ( westerners ) its not that easy, you must hv a very very good lawyer.
      Did you Know single or westerners couple can retired at 40 on Philippines or less ?, you have just to block big money on Bank .😋
      When i say that here in🗼to overseas they said : " no really ? "

    • @CoshanUncharted
      @CoshanUncharted  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    "Balanghoy" is cassava. Or as you Brits usually call it, tapioca. They're the plant also used as the source for starch in making tapioca pearls and boba (so you HAVE already tasted it before). It's pretty much pure starch. If you liked that, you should try asking for cassava cake next time. It's a lighter pudding-like version.

    • @CoshanUncharted

    Just a tip, how about doing a mukbang video while you are going to local places. I am sure it will arise more interest (and viewers). Besides, as you said, you are able to eat local food already like carinderia food. I seriously want you to gain more viewers and subs.

    • @CoshanUncharted
      @CoshanUncharted  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What is a mukbang video? A video on eating local food? We could give it a go, its not really our thing which is why wr have not done it yet but we can try and do some why not

    • @rawbomagaj1811
      @rawbomagaj1811 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mukbang is like a reaction video to something you eat. You can type Mukbang on the search field of TH-cam and there's lots of them. In the case of Filipinos, we are aware that our food is not as popular as Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese. And in several instances, we get a bad rep because our food is more on the pork and fatty side. But there are a lot of other Filipino dishes that are not known internationally. Non-pinoys usually know balut. So mukbang videos of Filipino food usually gets views. But wait, JOLLIBEE is not PH food, it is a Filipino take on the American burger and evolved to Chicken joy, palabok, etc etc. Its just that Jollibee is a Filipino fast food chain that is beating McDonalds in the PH market. It has amazing marketing concepts, distribution and pricing thats why. And Jollibee harp on it being local (thus Filipino) while McDo is an import. Anyway, im blabbering now.

    • @CoshanUncharted
      @CoshanUncharted  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahhhhhh okok i got you, infact we spok3 aboit this a while back about doing 1 or 2 of those tyoes of videos. We went to a filipino night market in manila to try some local food actually, there was pigs ears chicken livers on sticks ect. We tried some so lets see if tht video is entertertaining its not really ojr type of thing so i hooe tgat video comes out well

    Also that "steak" is not actually the same steak you'd eat in England. Heh. That's called a "bistek" (Spanish "bistec encebollado"). While it uses the same cut of meat (and thus is technically a steak), the preparation is different. It's pretty much steak cooked with a lot of onions. The same dish is also found in Spain and Latin America.

    hey thanks!!! strong point....if someone wants a pristine beach and away from other tourist or from too many people..,better go away from the main tourist spots..,what an irony from other vloggers who whines, like one of the vloggers pointed out,they forget that they themselves are part of it too :) so my advice is, go to the outskirts of the main island..,like Palawan all vloggers been to same spot..(El Nido/Puerto Prinsesa)one after another and never been to the very tip of Palawan like an island called Balabac...im sure its better than boracay and no chance of any soul..just you and your drone...this vlog is kind a guide for those who want to be more one with nature or kind a blend with the moment in time...your nailing it here.Thanks again....sorry you didn't like "pichi-pichi" but tell u what...,its one closest to natural,healthier ....unlike processed breads....i love organic...cheers!!! :)

      heyyy kryptone i love your comment man. Im gonna be real with you... there are so many vloggers now that dont really care about the countries they visit, all they want are subscribers and views. Like you said they ALL go to the same places and make the same videos with the same drone shots. It gets so boring and is not what vlogging is about. We new about balabac last year but it was still deemed unsafe and nobody would take us, now it is safe and tourism there is starting so we will 100% be going to balabac and the islands next trip with our filipino blogger friend. We try to find these places that are not known about as much because we have a genuine love for the country and its what you guys want to see. We dont put on a act in front of the camera like many vloggers do either. Next year we will stay in ph longer than the 2 months we did this trip and we are really really looking forward to coming back home to ph soon🇵🇭

    • @kryptonegalaxy3004
      @kryptonegalaxy3004 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i totally agree with you,it came to a point while seeing different vlogger that it did seemed like they just came for that subs and views unaware that viewers want something fresh or unique, "rawness" is a plus for me :) like you do.Some are just redundantly boring ...or is it taking advantage that the Philippines is the "Social Media Network Capital of the World" (Google) Anyway, yes tourism is now flourishing in the Southern Philippines and infact the Gov't is now promoting those " danger zones" before ,so Balabac is a must see and its nearby islands......Romblon and Sibuyan also have some hidden gems..so Goodluck dont forget to bring us with u :) as always...cheers...Love from Philippines :)
