- In this video I go over a phaser build made using only mission rewards and crafted gear. This build is a great place to start and improve upon over time as you gain access to rep gear and more. I demonstrate how viable a mission reward/crafted gear build is in Star Trek Online and I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Might want to update that cus few have legendary ships like the advanced phasers but I still can't believe people have not done t1to t5 of doing a bild still figuring out how to build those
This comment is late to the party. I see you point but just starting STO as a novice gamer there are so .any things going on AND so many stats on so much equipment etc... it's a tad daunting to say the least.

@Mc Stu - Hey! Question, when you are picking a ship for a build like this. How do you go about doing that besides focusing on the bridge seating. I'm guessing you would want to focus on Commander tactical? I ask because there is a lot of different ship from escorts, to pilots, cruisers and so on. What should someone look for to run a build similar to this? I ask as currently, I have only 2 T6 ships, the Romulan starter pack and the Paladin starter pack. Currently, my main is an Engineer non-alien Romulan in the paladin. Still working up reputation on my main. I went strategist and miracle worker for advice from Sto better.

I believe you can replay the mission “Spectres” which is in the available tab will reward you with your hoice of the standard phaser beam array at MK XII rare or 23rd century MKII rare phaser array. I believe a character needs to be level 65 in order to access.
I checked "Everything Old is New" shows the 23rd Cent and two TNG era Phaser Beam Arrays. One is x2 DMG and the other is x2 CritD. The TNG era stuff is only available on mission replay.
How do the infinite level phasers from the TOS Enterprise stack up against crafted stuff. I have that ship and I can put as many of those Bean Banks as I want on any other ship.... Are they good? (Keeping everything blue kind of makes me happy too. Makes it seem old school AF and correct)
@@marcuspacheco3815 I don't know _if_ they're better, but nothing sounds or looks as good as the old blue beams.
You can but most new toons can’t play everything old is new only toons that have done it before can . It doesn’t matter what accounts you use it’s simply Down to wether or not you played it on that toon

For mission reward phasers, on a TOS character you can replay The Battle of Caleb IV.
The Prior's World console gives -25% WPC and +15% ish EWD, it was a free reward from a short event recently in the game, that one is a huge boost, combined with the Deutcore and the Morphogenic console (if using any kind of Polaron weapons, preferably the healer Polarons from the Lukari reputation if on a cruiser) and the cruiser-specific WPC reducing command.

I appreciate your budget builds. I have been watching your channel and another that is all high end elite builds. To obtain his consoles would today cost well over $1000 in real money.
on escorts i like to use the trajector warp core from the delta alliance set. the teleport effect is basically a picard maneuver; and if youre like me and sometimes get so caught up in the action that you forget to monitor your hull health and press your health clickies on time, it makes for an effective "oh crap" button to get you out of trouble (especially if you have a battle cloak too). the only major negative with it is if youre not careful you can become too reliant upon it and form some bad habbits. lol
For alts your biggest bang is Rapid Support. My highest damage is always my summoned battlecruiser, unless I die before it can warp in. Not having to intentionally lower you hull is huge.

That mission where you get the Bajor Defense set, Scylla and Charybdis, is pronounced [silla] and [kaRIBdis]. They're the names of monsters from Greek mythology, and the phrase "caught between Scylla and Charybdis" (like the line in the song by The Police, "Wrapped Around Your Finger") is another way of saying "between a rock and a hard place."
You can make a "decent" build for any damage type on the cheap, and it's handy to have the parts for these builds to complete endeavors.
As far as I know all the phaser beam array reward missions (there used to be a few) have been removed from the game.
The early Federation, Drozana Station, and/or Nimbus Missions drop Mk II and/or Mk IV Phaser Arrays. You’ll have to upgrade them. Prior to Delta Rising in 2015, a lot of the now purged missions got you phaser arrays as well as the Foundry Missions.
man i miss the foundry... i understand why they got rid of it, but i still miss the ability to make your own missions and share them with the community.

Some of the older missions give Mk XI Twin Phaser Beam Arrays. Also, the Bio-Molecular Phase Beam Array from requisition drops.
i like budget builds for new toons, its super usefull until reps are done, and getting to T6 takes quite some time still
Phaser beam arrays from The Vault (blue), Everything Old is New(blue), and Downfall gives green arrays. Dual phaser beam bank from Sunrise, Ragnorak (Both purple)

The Phaser Array from the Vault is a shuttle beam.
the last mission in the "Specters" arc awards phaser beam banks...old school.. twin beam visual, and blue
I looked through my gear, i have a bunch of the exact same beam from a mission, I'll see if I can find the mission later..id bet it's in the old missions that have been moved to "available" tab and out of the mission chains
You can acquire beam arrays in "Researcher Rescue" they are green and they kinda suck but they are there. mission 3 in the Klingon War arc.
Sil-la and car-rib-dis : they are the two mythical creatures from The Odyssey. One is like a kraken and the other is like a giant whirlpool that swallows everything like the zarlac from Star wars but in the ocean. Note: this is where the Caribbean gets it's name from.
Yeah and that quantum beam works well with the legendary galaxy T6.

Is there a specific order you recommend for the spam bar, to activate abilities in a certain order?
Good build but I am trying to figure out who would use it. Not trying to be snarky, but you're using C-Store traits on a budget(?) build. Further, you've mounted everything on a Fleet ship, which implies access to both Fleet gear and possibly having T6 reps unlocked.
It almost seems like a transitionary build from budget to mid-grade. Something I would put together for the interim while I gathered the resources for Terran Task Force and Fleet tac consoles. Something I might fly for a week, at most.
All that said, it is a solid build on one of my favorite ships in the game. You certainly provided a good foundation upon which somebody could expand. There is value in that.
I agree, but players resources and what they have vary greatly. These "budget/Normal level" build vids are assuming plays have gone through the beginners guide series and pickup a c-store ship or two.... May I need to think about the terms Im using to classify these builds. Is budget the right word, is budget free or is it compare to a meta torp build that can cost $100-200 depending on how you went about get all the traits..... My goal is for these series/play list to be a progression from the one before it. Definitely something for me to think about, thanks for you input as always.
@@MCStu I could also be reading into your intent, as well. I equate "episode awards" with "limited budget" and that may not be what you were going for. Based on the other comments, at least a few people found this build useful and that, to me, automatically gives it worth.
I do like that you used the Fleet Miranda/Soyuz. Building on different platforms gives a lot of variety for your audience to choose from. Maybe you highlight a ship somebody is eyeballing and getting to see it in action better informs them of its relative worth. So I would heartily support that trend.
NIce Build...I love Budget Builds for new toons ...especially when you get the most for free in the game...
But what about the Prolonged Engagement Set (Phoenix Prize Pack) for the Budget Build???

Not sure if you care about the pronunciation stuff, but it's one of the rare set of pronunciations that I know.
From "Beyond The Nexus" in the New Frontiers episode(s); There is a Trilithium-enhanced omni-directional phaser array (MK XII) as part of a 3 piece set. - I use that omni-directional with the console for the speed tweaks (2 pieces) and would use the torpedo as well if my ship had the room for it. - I use it in conjunction with the set from Sunrise.
Trillithium gear is good, Im using the 2 pc in this vid

What’s the music you added on the ISA?
Here is the description for Reroute Reverses to Weapons from the Wiki "By shunting the impulse manifolds into your weapons arrays, the drain usually associated with energy weapon activation can pull from your Engine Subsystem instead of Weapons. While this effect is in place, the firing cycles of all active energy weapons will cycle more quickly. This reroute will be automatically shut off if it takes your Engines offline." so yes you are pulling Engine power for Weapon power. The higher the rank of RR2W the less power drain to your engines.

thanks for the great beginner videos recently! i found myself back in the game 9 years after quitting (the gap in mail and dilithium exchange logs between 2012 and 2021 is startling) and you really helped me refamiliarize myself with the game.

I know this is old but i have to make a comment. i combined quantum phased catalyst, trilithium laced weaponry from beyond the nexus, and quantum phase applications from stormbound.
STU, why not get the crafted Omni Direction Phaser, and run it both paired with the Thrilithum Enhanced?
That is a great suggestion, I just wanted to keep cheap it as cheap and possible for the video, but yes I would do that.

Disco characters can get phaser beams from one of their early missions too.
Yup, and if you dont mind replaying those early disco missions you can sell the drops and mission reward at the discovery era version of Starfleet Academy and buy more Disco era beam arrays for about 900 ec. The only trick to it is that you need to do it before coming to the future/current in-game time.
was the bajor defense set nerfed? i noticed that the 2 set only gives 2.5% damage increase on phaser/disruptor/plasma and not 19% in the description.
Make sure you are in space when looking at the stats, on gound they will show lower

You remember those retro TOS blue phaser beam arrays. I have a bunch of those and upgraded them to MK 15 and that put out more damage than a lot of those other beams.
On your spam bar during your fight with the Borg, i don't see a hotkey or you clicking the abilities. is there some shortcut or automation being used?
Row 7 on the Right tray I have keybind to my spacebar.

Would you get better damage if you used the preeminent set it adds shield power to weapons? Using your shield power to offset the power cost. You wouldn't need to change the sliders just the core and engine.
The S to W modifier is not enough to bead the 2 pc from the Bajor set, also it would not be worth putting power in to shield just to get the 7.5% to your weapons.

@@markhalverson7645 Either or on the engine, not a big difference, but on the core -15% weapons power cost on all your weapons from the Deuterium-Stabilized Warp Core is much better then the S->W 7.5 (7.5 is also the max at max shield power).

It's been about a year. Have you made a recent phaser beam overload video? They change the game so often, and it is so complicated, I always worry I am using out of date information.
For mission reward build there is no changes, this build will perforce the same as last year.
I bought that phaser array from phoenix box, the one with infinity symbol in it. Is it worth?

the stacking tactical, how does it work, explain it in crayons, aka. not some complicated math for relativity.
i dont se how 4x of the same helps tbh since you dont get the whole % for each.
lets say you have a phaser beam that does 100 damage (this is the weapons base damage), you add a +10% tac consul, you now have a phaser beam that that does 110 damage. You now add a second +10% tac consul, your phaser beam now does 120 damage.......

Not sure where to put this but as far as I'm aware torpedoes are the current "meta" at the moment. I'm a little lost as to where to get decent torpedoes and how to pair them together with each other. So maybe a beginner/advanced torpedo build video eventually?

Do you run the Red Matter Capacitor on any of your builds
I will until I have access to energy amplifiers, Amplifiers are better and the Red matter Cap put them on cool down. I would say use it if you don't have anything else.

Wow, you couldn't find the beam arrays from the mission where you go back in time to starbase? Its a very old mission, I played it 5+ years ago, unless they got rid of it. Can't remember the name, maybe Past Imperfect.
I think the mission was Night of the Comet. I believe it was removed.
@@MCStu nope, I played it last night. You just get ground weapons dropped from Night of the Comet though. And I can’t remember how I wound up actually on the Spectres story arc because it isn’t in the missions list.
You mention a few times that there's a text version of the build. Where can I find that? I've looked around the Discord and don't see any build guides. Do you have a website with those linked somewhere?

Pretty new, do quantum phase cannon, and quantum phase arrays get the buffs from phasers damage consoles. Sorry me dumdum
If they do phaser damage then they will be boosted by phaser buff consoles.
