Lakers and Celtics, Bird and Magic, those were the days of the best basketball. The NBA would not be the same if those teams and players weren't there.
Larry Legend man here. When men were men. You competed and all you thought about is winning! And if you lost…. No hugging and exchanging jerseys! You wouldn’t even make eye contact! Now it’s a love fest before, during and after game. For these guys the respect and love come now. Sorta full circle. Never will witness that intensity again.
I would love to see this conversation expanded to include old Celtics talk about the Lakers ... and 76ers they hated the most. The 76ers and Celtics rivalry was intense. *Great content. Very entertaining 😂 Thank you for posting
When the NBA was tough and physical! And as a Celtic fan beating, the Lakers was always the cherry on top of the cake😊. But as a basketball fan, I really liked watching the greats from every team the talent was the best and they did not like each other which I prefer it wasn’t personal. It was about basketball.
Old Celtics fan looking back...What do I remember about these guys Max, passionate, Bled Celtics green, emotions right on top. The thing that brought him the most joy was helping to hand out losses to his opponents. Ainge, left baseball for basketball because baseball was a non contact sport. Danny was a smart aggressive player, drop threes from the left corner like rain. Find the story of him being described by someone in the airport, "bit a guy" Scott and Coop both respected and feared rivals from the west coast. Champions, all of them.
The rivalry between these two teams back then was incredible -both cities came to a standstill when they played each other. Some of the best entertainment you could get anywhere. Today's game is played by a bunch of overpaid primadonnas, and is no where near as much fun to watch.
Who is going to watch LeBron reminisce about Durant, or what not? As a Celtics fan I'd rather listen to these two 80s Lakers rank their most hated Celtics.
@@Bighjr88 At basketball, baseball, and football. Probably tennis as well, who knows. But I think Byron Scott would beat Michael Cooper in a slam-dunk competition...
well Danny was all American in football. And played major league baseball. But one on one basketball - I don't know who''d win between them. I'd be more interested in seeing some 1 on 1 today or back then instead of the current all star game farce.
Don't put Larry Bird on the picture if you're not going to be talking about him. Don't care about Cedric or Danny. L. A. Faker's. Boston Celtics rivals are The Detroit, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and the Milwaukee. They were bigger compared to the Faker's.

100% Facts!!!!
Magic and Bird. NBA went downhill after they retired.
@@BrettThomas-ol3we True!!!
Started watching as a fan of Bill Russell in 1959. Celtics and Lakers was the best rivalry in basketball. I miss that sort of intense rivalry.
Serious old time Celtics fan. This guy remembers President Eisenhower. Hang in there buddy.

Truth
It was better when players hated each other.
Shout out to michael cooper.
Seems to be a lovely man.

The history of the NBA is amazing. The 50s, 60s, 70s... to today. Sadly a lot of young viewers know just todays game.
As a Celtics fan, I knew - before they even said it - that answers would Cedric Maxwell, ML Carr, and Danny Ainge

Sidney Moncrief was a killer ❤

I'm right there with him as an LA Lakers fan since 1965-66.
Too bad Jordan and Isaiah couldn’t learn from you guys?
I was a big Show Time Fan in the 80s!!!
Celtic Pride!
Wilt and Bill were friends.
Today’s players play like girls, hugs and exchanging jerseys after game.
You’re right about that!!!!
And then switch teams while they were pretending to be rivals. No longer an NBA fan since Kobe retired.
Can’t stand it when they go from real ball to kissing today’s players ass. They know the game is lost,
The Celtics rule...Byron only drools
Memories of when plumbers ruled the league.
Max embarrassed Worthy in 84
In what way? Worthy shot 64% from the field as a small forward in the 1984 NBA Finals.
The hate is so real lol.
You’re right about that!!!!
Baby B Scott
I think Danny Ainge would beat Byron Scott one on one.....
At what tennis?
Please in what universe!
Would be a good one. Both very athletic, good jump shooters… yah.
