Welcome to Mr. Whittington's Hidden Drams Neighbor!
I haven't had that bottle, but I have been to that distillery back in Oct 2014 (Rising Tide Brewery used to be next to them)! I still have the Queequeg Spiced Rum but was way before they had a Whiskey.
HA! I found the distillery while looking for the Rising Tide Brewery!
The flavor of this one takes me back to a September morning in 2018, sitting on the cliffs near York Harbor beach. There was a storm the night before and the tide was going out. The post-storm petrichor and the aroma of beached seaweed is captured in Fifty Stone..
Now this is what I love about Craft Whiskey, American Single Malt especially. The pure diversity of tastes and flavors across the country. Love this. Thank you 😊
“Mr. Whittington’s NEIGHBORHOOD” Love this! Another Great video, with great wealth of knowledge. Thank you!
This is exactly what I love about whisky, it sounds like everything I'd enjoy in a glass.
When you stared this channel, i was hesitant. I loved what you and Rex were doing but wasn't sure what you had in mind. To be honest, it took a while for my mind and preferences to latch on to what you were trying to accomplish. I wont claim to fully understand but I can sense how genuine you are and how you are doing what you truly love and want to do. I fully appreciate that and am striving to do that in my own life. My dream is to own and run something whisky related in tiny little Manitoba, Canada. Terribly far-fetched but, when I enjoy a dram while watching what you have created, I feel hope. :). PS, I feel Manitoba shares a bit of a spirit with Texas. We share simple, genuine folk and wide open spaces. We are just considerably colder ;-P.
Love this one! Drove by the distillery few years ago and picked one up. Fun and indeed a taste of Maine on the palate. Every few years go back to visit that side of the fam in Maine, I pick one up and schlep it back to the left coast. Nice unique ASM. At least there are no lobsters in it...
I can't believe you reviewed this and I didn't bother to check before buying it. I went home to visit family in Maine and searched for Maine distillers. Maine Craft Distilling popped up and the single malt intrigued me so I bought it. I absolutely love it but was hoping for smoke based on the description.
Once again so pleased you got your hands on it, though.
Yes, we have highlands, we are on the north end of the Appalachians, but this distillery is on the south end of Maine along the coast, in Portland.
Time for a road trip to Maine! 🖖😎🥃
I've been waiting for you to review this for ages I live here in maine and it's one of my favs but it's hard to find even here
For the Maine algorithm 🎉
Hey Daniel, Steven Collins again, wondering if you were able to disclose soon any details of Wizard Academy’s participation in Bastard’s Ball this year. I’d absolutely love to buy into the mini Som course you did last year.
So it just dawned on me that hidden drams is basically Daniel edging the vault community with great whiskies that we can't get our hands on!
Thanks for the video 👍🏻🥃
I've got to try this before!
Get some sleep, Daniel.. We've all been there 😊
I've never bought an American single malt and I mean to correct that asap. It's still kind of a hidden part of the industry it seems to me. What would be a good intro for a Scotch lover?
Yes!
Virginia Distillery Company’s Courage and Conviction, especially the Cuvée Cask or Double Cask expressions!
@@kvetcha thank you for the recommendation!
So…🎼The grain in
Maine when smoked does not taste pla-ain🎶
I have been searching so much for the title of the song in this intro. Anyone who can help me?
My brother-in-law wrote it and recorded it
