One of my favorite pieces of music trivia... based on the popularity of this performance (which I believe was at the MTV movie awards, due to this song being on the Young Guns soundtrack) MTV decided to start a show called MTV Unplugged. Their Unplugged albums were the best-selling albums of Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Eric Clapton, and a couple other artists, that I can't remember off the top of my head. (Maybe 10,000 Maniacs, can't remember them all, but I know several artists' most successful albums were their Unplugged ones.)
It was the mtv music awards. Also this wasn't used in the Young Guns movie the producers wanted to use it but JBJ thought it didn't really fit so he wrote Blaze of Glory instead.
Now that's music's all about! incredible harmonies, this is hard folk. A great song like this can be sung so many great ways. What an amazing performance, it's powerful, heartbreaking and perfect. I like this better than the original, both of them have fantastic voices. What a shame that young people now don't have rock like this.

Pear Jam is one of the best of that series. Great rock songs are often even better acoustically. It gives the music more depth.
