I ended up finding a B1000 bracelet on AliExpress for super cheap (~$20). It's fantastic, the only downside was a poor clasp but I found a great milled steel divers clasp and swapped it out.
For a dual time digital G shock is very good, it seems like it's very well built. I mean, that's a quartz watch, everything inside is digital, only output is analog...all together very nice. It's not about connecting and not connecting, it's much easier to adjust time on the phone with a bigger screen than push the buttons on the watch....but it's about a feeling....watches without so much connectivity are...timeless somehow. Hopefully it shouldn't lose on the value over time, there's no any reason because that thing is built to last 100 years.I like that strap but i don't like an idea that i need to buy a strap adapter for a watch that i've paid already 700-800 USD. Good video Simucom, very nice watch.
It is frustrating that Casio designs their watches to require strap adapters. They should know better. I did find a store that sells the bracelet for the B1000 separately, but it costs over $200 so I will wait (I can't justify spending that much on just a bracelet right now).
@@degenerateWA Yes, very frustrating, anyway, that's always a struggle with a G shocks......it seems like it's very hard to produce that adapter for your watch from stainless steel, a shape is crazy completely. Take a check here Simucom, really i don't have an idea does it fits but you don't have anything to lose www.shapeways.com/product/P73KUDC2T/gshock-mtg-s1000-nato-adapter?li=shareProduct www.shapeways.com/product/A28TZ2L6E/gshock-mtg-s1000-nato-adapter-metal www.ebay.com/itm/JaysAndKays-Metal-Adapters-for-Casio-GShock-GSteel-GST100-GSTB100-GST300-GST400/274323966421?hash=item3fdefb89d5:g:8bUAAOSwY5peg7VW
I find a small o ring stops the keeper moving around. Zaratsu is the polishing used in some areas, I believe. It is also known as Sallaz polishing. Casio UK sell the bracelets. IIRC they are about £80-£90.
@@degenerateWA I am afraid I recalled the price incorrectly. Tiktox (also in the UK) sell the silver/red composite band for £124.50. Pretty expensive. I think they will export to other countries.
@@ianmaw66 nice. I found an authorized parts retailer selling the bracelet for around $220USD. a bit pricey but I will put away a little here and there and get it eventually. For now the resin band will suffice.
nice review..had a doubt..if i have to use the MTG B1000D-1ADR stainless steel belt for this model that ur reviewing (MTG B1000-1ADR)..will it fit perfectly?
Absolutely agreed with you on the METAL KEEPER- Really annoying as keeps slipping resulting in me having to adjust EVERY few minutes or 30 minutes!! If not, the end of the strap portrudes out, resulting in comical look. I cannot believe Casio did not make any improvement, after few years on the market.
I ordered an aftermarket bracelet for the B1000 on AliExpress and now it's perfect. An OEM b1000 bracelet costs around $200 but on AE it cost me less than $20 so I'm quite happy about that. The clasp was a little cheap so I ordered a strapcode dive clasp and now it's extra perfect. I can share the links if you're interested.
@@degenerateWA Me prefer everything to be original. Casio should make the strap stopper higher (now only slightly raised section at the end of the strap)
This is a great review. I am looking at getting the MTG in all steel and black and red but I am afraid that the black steel band will start to fade and scratch away exposing the steel underneath.
I've heard of the finish on the black MTGM900 being VERY weak and rubbing off after light use, but the M900 is also a budget G Shock. If the finish on the black B1000 is like that then I would avoid, but if it's something like a DLC coating then you'll be fine.
Like the reviewer, I am split over watches with bluetooth. I swither between it being a useful expansion of the features a watch can provide and a red line which shouldn't be crossed by a timepiece. I don't own a watch with bluetooth and have no experience other than with Fitbit. Gshock over the last 5 years has transitioned to bluetooth with most newer models like MTG - which I thought was because the radio towers might be switched off and they were looking for an alternative. Maybe I'm just an old 'fuddy duddy', but I'd much prefer GPS instead, because this circumvents any problem with atomic signal.
I appreciate that they add the bluetooth as an optional function but not a requirement for operation of the watch. I imagine it can be handy for some things, but with an accuracy rating of +/-15 seconds per month WITHOUT bluetooth/atomic time, I'm not concerned at all about not using it.
There are apps like Mega Junghans app for Android/iOS. In a way the app can simulate the atomic signal using the circuitry inside speaker of your phone / or any speaker you connected the phone to. So it can be an alternative if you're out of the atomic signal area and don't have a bluetooth featured watch
I Have never seen people wear watches way down below the wrist bone and on top of the hand until I started watching g-shock TH-cam videos. I have been a watch guy for decades from low $ to high $ and never seen it or maybe just never noticed it until lately. I used to go one watch forums daily for years. I don’t see how you can even bend your hand with the watch below the wrist bone on top of the hand. It is actually quite painful. Maybe they just do this when they demo the watch for the video??? Forever people have worn watches on the wrist above the protruding bone. Maybe this is a painful new trend? Serious question.
It all depends on how you adjust your bracelet or how tight you wear your strap. If you wear your watches tighter then it would hurt to have it sitting up at the base of your hand. I prefer mine just slightly larger than the circumference of my wrist so it gives my forearms room to expand.
You spoke my mind about the bracelet choice!

Hi, did they made after market straps for this model?
I think the best looking MTG is the MTG-G1000 - it has the benefit of GPS time-keeping. If I was picking up an MTG It would be top of my list.
The G1000 is a tank. I guess the B1000 is more of a Land Rover.
