This old piece of history gets me to work everyday.
Τhe old one is legend. There is no comparison between those two. I hope the new engine would be that reliable like old's one.
The weight of the PD10 1999 is 208kg with petrol. So with crashbars and other attachments it may rise to 220kg, but this is with 18 litres of fuel.
The owner said its 217 Kg without petrol, so who do we give credit for the real weight
@@IdealBike i just checked the paperwork of my model, it says 208kg. But it does not mention if this is with or without fuel. 😅

@@IdealBike The first version was at 183kg dry. They surely added some weight with brake disks and other stuff, but not 35kg.
All data i find states 208kg wet for the 600 version.
Two different bikes from two different millenums, but with a lot in common : Touring bikes with dirt road capability as long as you don't expect too much. The old one will last forever and is know for its reliability. The new one, we don't know yet. And the new one has twice the power of the old one.
Twice the power was the biggest mistake they made.

That was awesome. Rox do antivibration handlebar risers that also wobble. Did you notice the handlebar movement with the rubber risers?

Nice comparison. In 20 or 30 years the current Transalp will be compared to an all electric Transalp. There is no way gasoline engines will still be around in 30 years.
Hopefully not all will be electric, then there will be no feelings, no feedback, nothing....
@@IdealBike Smart design can keep feelings in electric vehicles, Gears, clutches, interesting motor tuning can make interesting noises and vibrations.

I own a 700 Transalp, I test rode the 750, the 700 is far better
I think this new one has strayed to far from the original design. The 600 had 52hp its to much power to high up in the rpm. I would like a NX500 with wire wheels a 600cc single and high level exhaust.
@@chrishart8548 I agree the 750 is too rev happy, the 700 last of the true transalps V twin is closer to the origional africa twin 750 in terms of its power and delivery once derestricted
@@user-qq9hg8ih4b I found out there was a sleeved down 400cc version of the 600 for home market 37hp that's probably a lovely little engine.
@@chrishart8548 i guess it shares a lot of parts with the 400 bros/hawk home market bikes
xl600v has 17" rear wheel not 18". It has 50HP not 54 and weight is lover. Please check basic specification before you make video.
50HP only in Germany !
