I keep forgetting to see which version Path Pilot I have. Do you know what version it works with? I’ve read V2 and higher. I just ran my first part, which was new holes in soft jaws that I already had, so they’d fit my 5” vice.
@@mwmxcnc if you type admin in the mdi line you should be able to scroll down and see if admin backlash is listed i just got my 1100 in may so im still learning also (zero cnc experience )
I finally got the v1.x to v2.x thumb drive and updated to the most recent version, v2.10 I believe, and your instruction showed the list in the mdi, so I set it about .0001" less than the actual backlash and it seems to be working great, now I just need to find a more accurate way to measure tool heights, I have a height gauge, but for whatever reason I am getting inconsistent results, within .001" but I don't know why, maybe the tool is moving in the collet, but I remeasured a few after using them, and the shrank, maybe its just wear, but I don't have a microscope. Ive been thinking about getting a china height setter, but that may be even less accurate.
Yeah, I got it for $5,000. That included a few tools and a vice. Here in Utah it seems these things are pretty expensive, there is a couple others for sale right now in the 5500-8500 range, and they’re series 1 machines.
there is backlash comp in pathpilot you can adjust up to .005

@mwmxcnc wow, that's a pretty good deal.
