The Hyundai Santa Fe is one of the best value 4x4s around. Seven-seater versions cost an extra £750 and have a huge and versatile interior. Build quality is good, and from driver and passenger seats the car feels luxurious. The diesel engine performs well, and the Santa Fe is very economical for a car of its size.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like this car's looks.
Matt is definitely more experienced, but I like her style. Every video she gets more confident and shows more personality. I think if she keeps it up she has a bright future.
My little suggestion for whole production unit, show the features on camera when you are talking about it.
All the very best and Good luck!
Both Mat and Rebecca are fresh breeze :)
Just Copped Me This Vehicle A Few Days Ago
The Vehicle, 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe, 2.2 Crdi, 4WD manual-shift with 49,000Km on the clock. Experienced sudden loss of transmission, rattling sound and was not able to drive. Left stranded. Dealer (Hyundai Lanka) says the Flywheel has failed. Vehicle is outside of warranty and it's a two grand repair.
Before this (around approximately 35000KM) the Primary and secondary clutch cylinders needed replacing and same was done with dealer. This was also an expensive repair.
I like the look of this gen Santa Fe. To me it’s more classy and understated than the ix35 and I love the headlights. It’s even got a bit of coke bottle styling too
Don't hear people that tells you stories about their broken santafe's. I've had mine since 2011, and I'm an offroad enthusiast. Yes, I offroaded my manual 2.2 litre diesel awd just like a wrangler rubicon or a land cruiser and it outperformed the two, yes, but i had to push and rev more to get similar results. The car remains intact since 2011, the only aftermarket parts in it are a new fuel filter (mannfilter) and new tires. The only thing that is uncomfortable is the noise that produce the chassis after crude offroading in gravel roads at +40mph, but only because i went every weekend to the countryside.
Cannot outperform a Land cruiser or wrangler. I have owned all 3 (Land cruiser, wrangler and santa fe). It is better only on the open road.
What one should check if buying 2011 santafe ..

Negative comments are just to help her doing better on the show!! As long as the comments aren't disrespectful!!!
Didn't look too much of a problem getting in the back seat to me !
I didn't know that USB and ipod connection was a safety feature lol!
2:29 "The resale value of these cars is not great." 2:59 "If you're thinking about buying brand new and keeping for a few years, this is probably the SUV for you." Interesting. What if I'm thinking about buying a used one that's a few years old. How reliable are these vehicles as they age? What are the most significant maintenance issues these cars are known to have other than routine maintenance?
In Europe, the 2.2 litre diesel is pretty reliable. The Santa Fe is quite an reliable car, and if it isn't, parts are cheap. I own an first gen Santa Fe with the 2.0 crdi engine and automatic, and I can confirm that prices are fairly cheap.
Very reliable
I own a 2010 crdi for the last 3 years..oil change brakes and tyres..just common wear items ..very reliable..and great in the snow.
@@robertmagee5523 your model is with 150 hp and 5 speed automatic ?
@@לויכהן-ח9ו ..194hp and 6 speed manual, but it,s the torque 422Nm.. more than a 2010 3lt Toyota Landcruiser...it helps get it up to speed.
Very attractive indeed
I like her reviews, I just would like her to explain what she did not like about the vehicles more.
I think her and Matt are just different! I would like to see them both in this show.
The v6 is a lot smoother and a bit quieter (I find). I don't do much toeing, and gas is fairly cheap in North America so the consumption isn't a problem. The old 3.3 L V6 got 18 mpg, ate through fuel like crazy!
Great review, she is getting better.
Thanks Rebecca, we love your reviews. My wife said she loved that it was a lady reviewing.
the 2006-present Hyundai Santa Fe/ Inokom Santa Fe (Malaysia)
is assembled in
Asan, Korea
Montgomery, Alabama, United States
West Point, Georgia, United States
Kulim, Malaysia
İzmit, Turkey
not sure why people's orientations are being discussed. We're supposedly all car enthusiasts and we can appreciate an excellent review when we see one... and that's what Mat delivers every time! So what's wrong with voicing that fact?
Rebecca has gotten better but she is no replacement for Matthew. Hope he hurries back from Japan
God will soon bless me with a car like this and now im just watching youtube videos of santa fe's :))
Idk i like the car its big and it has 7 seats and 4x4 which i need. Sports cars are alrighy but cmon i think speed is not even worth it for me to buy a sports car. I dont get anything from speed :))
But with this car i can go camping with my friends or i can go travel and also in the winter i can use the 4wd
Rebecca is getting better and better! :)
if you dont like rebecca then, why are you waisting your time watching the video? yes,i miss matt but, shes nice, and if matt has moved on from carbuyer then,im sure she will do a nice job in filling in for him, maybe she would be more natural and less nervous if she aint got someone on a keyboard criticising her every 5 mins.....well done rebecca, keep up the good work!
She is very good but I want Mat back! Now.
Good review buttttt what bout
Price?
Mpg?
And cup holders?
To everyone Mat is on HOLIDAYS he's not fired or kicked up. See his Facebook page. he will be back later, as he told. He works on Auto express (and carbuyer is joint to auto express and car mag).
@ZacDaMan72 @realrick8 applies to you all
üşüyoruz Matt reyizz...
you know why the number of dislikes decreases? Its because people dont watch caybuyer anymore
Your Review was excellent! very informative!
She seems like a nice girl and she is somewhat improving compared to her first videos, but they are just by far not as entertaining as Mat's videos. As I've read, Mat will return, and I'm really looking forward to that!
I don't have anything against her, but nobody cares about the way she looks or the way she talks. The fact of the matter is that we subscribed because we liked Matt's reviews, and not because he was "hot". If we wanted good-looking people we could subscribe to another channel, what we want is to see the downsides of the cars first of all, and that's what Matt does very well. If you watch Fifth Gear, for example, you would see that almost every single car they review is good or brilliant.
good review. but you shouldnt talk like you are reading. when matt reviews cars, it looks like he is exploring the car with the viewer
Between Hyundai Santa Fe And Tucson What Car is much better Santa Fe? Or Tucson?
The older model looked much better then this new one.
Im watching driving wars now and rebecca is on it......... Good review btw :)
she sounds a lot less forced on this review, I think she's improving.
People please ... Matt is busy right now, read the bloody facebookpage!
And I agree that Rebecca is so far not doing as good as Matt is, but Matt has lots of experience, while she hasn't! So please stop commenting "Where is Matt" like 400 times on every review Rebecca does ...
She should just do the bottle test, concentrate a bit more on ALL the things Matt concentrates on, and it'll be alright :)
After all I watch these reviews because they usually give the best overall review.
wow shes lovely..although i do miss matt!
Test drove one from the dealer today. Broke down lol
Well done...! continuous improvements....
Great review!
if you get to the hyunday webpage and select the santa fe it says from the beginning 28000 euros, which is quite a few, i have the old version and costed as much as the ix35 nowadays...but the rare thing is the 28000 euros, when you choose the car the first decision is the engine, and the 3 options are over 33000 euros, there is not a 28000 possibility, its just expensive right? i mean the say 28000 but you wont ever ever ever pay less than 33000 euros...
love this video
Britain wants matt watson on carbuyer back! 🇬🇧
Enough with the negative comments about Rebecca! Give her a break!
Where is the report about where you can stow large water bottles?
Very good practical review thank you for that.
You all Matt fanboys should know he did a 500 mile trip with an M5 from Spain to the UK...
Thats the problem with American people like you. You think the V6 is the best thing ever. It isnt just about the power, but also the torque and the MPGs. Dude, you havent tried the Diesel version. While that V6 makes 280HP, it only makes 248 lb ft of torque, the Diesel makes 198HP and greats 322 lb ft of torque, which make it better for towing and more responsive on the highway with amazing MPG. So if you want to refer to a proper engine for this car, the Diesel is for sure the best option.
@MemphisSilver
Yeah, and that guy is Matt :D
I hope that the people who want to unsubscribe will do that soon, so the rest of us can go on with following the channel. I liked Matt's reviews very much, but I don't see anything wrong here either. I get nice and brief review of the car in just a few minutes, that's the reason why I'm here in the first place.
anyway, where is Matt?
I HAVE UNSUBSCRIBED TO CARBUYER,SHE ONLY SPEAKS ABOUT THE GOOD THINGS AND NEVER MENTIONS ANY BAD THINGS,I BET SHE HAS A 1999 VAUXHALL AND FOR HER ALL OF THESE CARS ARE BRILLIANT
I might be called pernickety but it would be very cool to articulate a bit more, for people who aren't English and thus don't speak english in the first place.
But overall good review.
my dad has a Tucson witch is a little smaller than this, but it's a good car
can be the next factual and cool VBH :)
@cairellmar he said he was on a holiday and will get back in march
@cyfarwy I wasn't aware that asking for a little more articulation was that much. I watch and read a lot of things in english and even watch movies with english subtitles, and I can't do better than that.
By the way I don't see the point with the money thing. Do you pay them anything by watching their videos on TH-cam ?
Does she work for Hyundai? If not, she ought
Most of BIGEGOBLOKES here just can´t stand girl talking about cars. This lady is getting better with each review, soon she will be as brilliant as Matt who I hated and then grow to love his style. Besides she is already miles better than that girl from autocar.. or indeed all its presenters. And have you actually looked at her? She is gorgeous!!!
where did the guy reviewer go?
Yeas the V6 is smooth, but it doesnt make justice for this car. The diesel engine in this car is very quite too, nothing very noisy, very European style... If you think the V6 has low mpg and the gas price is low in US (I visit US often and I really dont see it that cheap), try a Diesel version, and you will see that tank last almost forever, and diesel is really cheaper. Well it is very sad no Diesel version of any car enters the US market.
I am not saying she is bad but I want Matt back . . .
How much does it cost?
Sometimes i get the feeling that she is reading most of this and there is a guy standing in front of her with a huge card board.. other than that good job.
I want Matt back!!!!
@TheHornyHomunculus Will miss you.
I don't care who's reviewing, but no proper view of the dash, nearly nill information on the available options and not a mention of its competitors in the market?! This video left me frustrated, which is a very rare thing. Massive respect for Hyundai but this vehicle appears to need a scheduled replacement.
Interior feels luxurious, really? : /
Where is Matt? She is ok not more!
Cual es el precio, y donde está ubicada, osea la dirección
where is Matt????
why is the resellvalue bad?
wheres Mat?
@mustsilm
I think it's on the carbuyer page here on TH-cam ass well :)
It's hillarious that some people believe that, becase you like Matt's reviews more, you're gay. In that case Gay it is. Matt was awesome, hear that, AWESOME!!!
Also, I want Matt testing Range Rover(not sport!)
Where is Mat?
@arts82 Away. Back at the end of February.
I have on of these, a 2008 model. Great car, but damn is it unreliable! Have had new wheel bearings (front and back), new suspension arms and joints, new anti-roll bar (sway bar) link rods front and back, air bag failure, turbo inter-cooler came loose, cruise control failed, high pressure fuel pump failed, window winder failed, oil filter seal blew, the list goes on. Not made to same quality as Toyota or Honda. Be warned!
Robin, 4 years have passed since you commented on the Hyundai Santa Fe. I'm interested in hearing an update from you on how you currently feel about the car. Has reliability gotten significantly worse over time? Would you say the time and money spent on maintaining the vehicle was reasonable or excessive? Would you recommend this car for an older person who needs a reliable car for short trips around town? What are your top 3 concerns with the Santa Fe?
Rebecca resembles Mat,somewhat. Just look at her facial features, especially the ears lol
I like the review better than..... wait whos matt?
in my opinion aux should be standard in all cars. i hate radio
I love her
Where's Mat?
marked improvement from your first review Rebecca. Just be more natural, n try to cut down the hand gesture when u speak. U could only get better from here!!
Great review and I love that British accent!
Plus, her arms are shorter then they should be, I think there is a specific medical condition for the reason of her X shaped legs, and shorter arms, but I can't remember what it's called.
I like it :) Keep it up Rebecca :)
chevrolet camaro coming to the UK soon, hope they review it on here! :D
downsides?
she never test the rear seat
أخوك من العراق السلام عليكم كلي أوخي أكو لاند كروز تويوتا 2012 كم سعرها بالمملكه ؟ مع الشكر
it s an ok review but i have to point out the fact that it s damn boring in contrast to matt and thats what i loved about this show..that energy .....
so Rebecca's her name, that explains the dislikes.
Its the curse!
Santa Fe = A poor man's Range Rover
Alot of things come to mind for mechanics when we here the word "Hyundai" reliability has never been one of them! Think.. clutches, gearboxs, flywheels, wheel bearings. You journalists dont have a clue about real world reliability!
Hey butthurts , Matt has moved on and now Rebecca took his place. she's a great reviewer. stop criticizing her you should'nt blame her If Matt is gone. If you want to see Matt videos he's reviewing cars on AutoExpress channel or you can also join his facebook page.

You will see big party in street 😜😜😜
""unplanned trips to Swedish furniture stores""
"honey, how about a drive in your SantaFe :-) " she says.
you look at her and know exactly what's on her mind (him:santa), but before you can say no, you have look at her, seen those eyes and those lush lips smiling... you realise that you already have the keys in your hand and what lovely teeth she has.
wheres MATT :o ?????
Who cares if she skips commenting on the large water bottle stowing compartement? All cars come with space for those these days and I have yet to stow a large bottle in mine.Infact it has a CD case in it.
