I heard an interview with Victor Stabin, the artist for the Unmasked poster, and he confirmed the rumor about Peter winking. That album did have a black inner sleeve, and I switched out my 2014 plain white sleeve for a black one!

When I was a kid I had all of the original KISS albums through Unmasked. I remember all the "goodies" (posters, stickers, etc.) being included. However, I don't remember the Love Gun paper gun. I wish I still had those albums now.

It's great to see they have all the inserts and that the cover reproductions are awesome. I have almost ALL kiss albums and 80% are my analog vinyl copies and they sound phenomenal. I just think that the sound on some of these re-issues is something to be approached with lots of caution, if you know what i mean. I bought Monster (my only 180g kiss Vinyl) a few years ago and i was shocked how bad it sounded compared to my analogs.

Glad they recreated the inserts. Love that Love Gun recreated the Pop-Bang Gun. Wish I had my original. I was young enough of course to have assembled the thing and played with it. Must have gotten rid of the album and the insert in my stupid collection purge of 1987 (something I regret doing. I won't go into the back story) Wish I hadn't gotten rid of some of the stuff I did which included some Mobile Fidelity OMRs (especially the Woodstock Boxed set and a reproduction of the festival's program I had gotten and put with the box)

Those are nice but with these reproductions you don’t get the original order form inserts so that’s why I Always stick with first pressing copies of any album
Anthony Strain. No order forms. Merchandise on forms isnt made anymore. They wanted it as close to the orignal as they possibly could. So in order to do that they had to leave them out. Hey funny story. Around 1995 i wrote a letter to conoga park the address on the order forms. They acually wrote me back and said that their wherehouse was then a moving storage wherehouse. They had no idea it was once the KISS record orderform wherehouse. They actually thank me for letting them know.
Dressed to Kill, while they did a good job with the embossed logos on the cover, they didn't pay quite as much attention to the back cover. If you have a vintage copy, pull it out, and you'll notice the logos on the back have a subtle green outline. This is not reproduced on the 2014 version. Alive!, I can confirm the "Image is Getting Clearer" inner sleeves for the first pressings. I think the reason they did not duplicate it is the sleeve was generic for its day and was not exclusive to this KISS album --unlike the other inner sleeves. Still, I agree it would have been nice if they'd done it anyway. I purchased just about all of these as the 2014 reissue campaign was ongoing, but I've since resold most of them. (I repurchased them yet again as hi-res downloads.) Seeing this makes me wish I'd hung on to a few more...

I've been wondering how good the hi-Rez versions sound but have been a little wary of going down that while new road.
It should most definitely be on your vintage copy. The hi-res files sound better than the vinyl. In fact, all of the vinyl is cut from the hi-res files; this means the digital files are one generation closer to the analogue source. I found Hotter Than Hell to be the most improved out of the original six LPs. Alive! is also very good. The only one I found to be disappointing was Destroyer--very, very slight improvement over the 97 Remasters. Also, Creatures of the Night uses the 85 mix, which has the big drum sound cut back way too much for my taste. Stick with the 97 Remaster for that one.
That's pretty wild. I checked my copy and I DO see what you are talking about. I guess you learn something new every day. I will probably check out the hi-res stuff, someday, when I have the equipment to take advantage of the sonic boost. Thanks for all the info!
Missed a few things. the original Destroyer pressing was a gatefold and the artwork that you showed on the vinyl sleeve was what was on the inside of the gatefold. Oh and Destroyer Resurrected was remixed by Bob Ezrin and remastered. not just remastered.
+Mark Kopernicky Hey, Mark! You are 100% correct about Bob Ezrin and the remixing of Destroyer. It was tough to get everything I needed to say from my brain to my mouth while the camera was running. Regarding the gatefold, I grew up in the US and we didn't have a gatefold on Destroyer. So, the Reissue I showed matches the Destroyer I grew up with very closely. Thanks for watching and commenting!
These albums sound incredible, absolutely loved them however the biggest and most frustrating problem I'm having with them is that (most not all) are pressed off center. Side 2 of Rock and Roll Over is almost unlistenable as the needles swaying heavily side to side even after exchanging it. I have hundreds of other records, original pressings, 180g reissues and haven't had that problem. Can't figure that one out.
That's too bad. I've seen a few QC issues in the ones I've bought but nothing that glaring. I did have to return a copy of the Elder that's label was so off-center that the stylus would run into it pretty quickly in the lead out groove.
I would like to make a comment about Destroyer, in Canada when it was first released the cover was a gate fold cover and on one side was the KISS ARMY offer and the other had the lyrics to Detroit Rock City and the record sleeve was a plain sleeve, (I hope they do a release of that cover once again)
Hey, Scott. Universal pressed a very limited number of copies of Double Platinum for the uber-expensive Kissteria boxed set. So, DP is not available as a individual album without buying the boxed set. Crossing my fingers that it will be released again on vinyl as an individual release at some point in the future.

Gene had the worst solo album. I’ll take Peters over genes any day. Ace is easily the best and Paul’s is pretty damn good. I swear half of genes songs on his album fade out for like a sold minute. And there’s some ok tunes on it but over all I think it’s definitely the weakest.
Peter’s has grown on me so much over the last year. It’s a fantastic record. It’s just one of those records that threw KISS fans off bc they were expecting something else. Same with The Elder which I also love.

The only thing that would make this cooler is if they included the original order forms just to make it complete.

Yes! alive had regular sleeves. When I bought it back in 1982 it didn't have the booklet though.
