    Thinking about cross training on speed skating during off season for road cycling. Both really use similar muscle groups depends on how one train.

      The VNLA quads are pretty good and durable but the VNLA inline speed skates, they're different, those are pretty hard to actually go fast in. A friend of mine regrets her decision in purchasing the VNLA inlines because she says that the wheel itself doesn't have much grip and the buckle can easily loosen and break! The skates I have are Luigino Struts and they're smooth asf and durable- although they're expensive..

    I've been inline skating for the past 25 years in agressive, fitness skates like: Powerslides R6, Prix and World cup. I've been skating on 125mm wheels the past 3 years. I found interest in moving to low cut speed skates.
    Can I jump straight to low cut boot 110 and 125mm?? I've been working out my ankles and balance workouts regularly twice a week for the past 12 years, so yes I have strong ankles

    What are the best brands now for boots, rails and wheel? I’m old school. I have a bont hustler and m o g e m a rail from the late 90s. Is there a video where you discuss packages or brands?

    • @SkatePro
      @SkatePro  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Manda S,
      Thanks for your comment. When it comes to pointing out one brand it's not an easy choice and it really depends on what you are looking for. What is the most important for you - speed, comfort or durability?
      It also depends on the weather conditions, and therefore you need different wheels for a wet and dry surface, tarmac, concrete or indoor.
      I strongly recommend you to take a look at our website or contact us by email at www.skatepro.com.
      Have a great day :)

    what if you are not really racing and just like to skate at high speed. combine a tall comfortable hard boot with a rail for 90-125 wheels. call it the casual speedster

    Hello there! Thank you for all the info 🙏🏽I have normal inline rollerblades (small wheels) and I am looking to buy my first pair of speed rollerblades. Which one would you suggest? I would like to cover longer distances and have less friction and problems with road pavement and twigs as they are tricky with my normal rollerblades. I don’t need the fastest wheels, just one that would not be too expensive but still offer the comfort on the road and long distances. Thank you so much for your help 🙏🏽

    • @SkatePro
      @SkatePro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Alice, thanks for reaching out! :) Considering your case of use, I would actually recommend to look into the "endurance" category on our website:
      www.skatepro.com/en-us/c26.htm
      Speedskates are without any comfort, as the boot is super hard and stiff, for optimal powertransfer. However, the difference that this makes is very minor in the bigger scale, but important for top-tier athletes.
      Long distance (endurance) skates has wheel sizes like speedskates, but comes with a more comfortable boot. So you will basically get the same speed, but do no sacrifice the comfort in the same way. Here I can really recommend the skates from K2 and Powerslide :) I would typically recommend to go up 1 size, but it is better to check the sizeguides on the specific models on the website.
      Feel free to reach out to us at email@skatepro.com, if you have any further questions!

    Have a question?
    Will putting 3x110 wheels on a large 125 frame equals the same speed and gliding roll to 4x110?

    • @kornjankhrit2816
      @kornjankhrit2816 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      wow thats a uh very good question i have never thought about that, i have 4x110 and 3x110 but never had ur kind of thought about putting 110 wheels on 125 frames

    • @YannickLB
      @YannickLB 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bigger frame allows for a bigger stroke.. So more effort to power ratio. Less contact to the ground equals more less rolling resistance = more speed. So i'd say big frame 3 wheels would be best.

      @jaydenmann447 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      3.

    • @SkatePro
      @SkatePro  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is something that is a personal preference of the rider. With 4 wheels you have a bit more grip and, of course, more bearings to gain speed. Even though, the wheel diameter is smaller. With the 3 wheels you have a bit less grip, comparing to the 4 wheels, but a bigger wheel diameter so you can actually gain more speed due to that. When you do want to compete in a marathon, for example, there are some marathons where you are not allowed to join with a 3-wheel setup.

      Hi there! These could be an option: www.skatepro.com/23-15026.htm
      My best advice would be to measure your feet and find the exact measurement in millimeters. On all our speedskates, we have a size chart. Sometimes, the EU size varies from brand to brand. So it is definitely better to work with the "mondopoint" measurement :)

    do bigger wheels mean more speed, what size wheels is best for speed?

  • @davidtt8372

      Could you explain? I'm interested in what u mean?

    • @davidtt8372
      @davidtt8372 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@spanish_boiya.g9920 without rewatching this video that I watched 3 years ago. I recall them talking about harder wheels (tires in cycling) being better. That's only true on a perfectly smooth surface. Road cyclists used to run 120+ psi and now are doing like 70. Every bump in the road is a tiny hill you're climbing that saps your momentum. A softer tire absorbs those infinite 1mm hills allowing you to maintain momentum.

    • @Elemental_Entity
      @Elemental_Entity 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@davidtt8372 As a Speed Skater I can tell you what he says about the wheels is true.
      The harder they are , the faster you go, even on rough roads, but overall less grip, with zero momentum loss. They also work good in the rain. You will never see a pro speedskater using soft wheels, regardless of condition, the will have a mix of 85A to 87A.

    What is the difference between inline and speed skates?

    • @SkatePro
      @SkatePro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Speed skates can be inline skates, roller skates or ice skates. So, the context is important. But when is an inline skate also a speed skate. Let's assume the inline skate for the comparison is a popular, recreational, fitness-styled skate. A speed skate is usually coming with a low cut boot for advanced pushing techniques, bigger wheels for more speed and a longer frame for more directional stability at high speed.
