Welcome back Rich. It was good to see that nice 182, one of my first airplanes was a brand new 182, I wish I had kept it. Its good to hear you and Amir reviewing that Kodiak concerning their lack of customer care. It makes a big difference when choosing what plane to purchase.
I've been following your awesome content for some time and kinda wondered what happened and you helped explain why. I love your channel Rich and hope you keep them coming. Best of luck on your new endeavor and new chapter. Flying with Rich...Let's go!
Good luck to ya Rich. You kinda get some credit for my buying my first plane. You posted a TH-cam video about another 182 that I felt was absolutely perfect for me. First, I showed the video to my skeptical wife. God bless her, she gave this much thought and then gave her blessing. I then tried to bid for it via email with OCR but despite having a higher bid they sold it to some dude who had walked in locally. Bummer. But now the fire was set. I found another gem 182 in Oklahoma and have owned it for 9 months now.
Yeah for the first time in almost 25 years, I don’t have a formal office at Long Beach! I live close to SNA, and I’m all over the place all the time so doesn’t really matter much. If you make it to SNA - let me know!
That's interesting. I never heard a word about Daher and the TBM's? I was wondering where you went, I know life goes on. Best luck and see you here!! 8) --gary
Hey Rich - glad you're doing well - was wondering if you were gonna land back in the Midwest. Ryan's been keeping us dialed in with the C421 - more maintenance than we originally figured. We'll keep up with your channel going forward - all the best to you sir.
Sorry to hear that you have left OCR, you have put several years into helping build that business only to walk away. I am glad you have "Flying with Rich" at least you have that. As a business owner myself for over 40 years I have experienced several highs and lows, and my very strong advice is that success lies between our ears. If you can muster up a positive and optimistic attitude, then implement a very well thought out plan you can succeed to new heights at an astonishingly fast rate. My advice, never give up, think positive and aim for the moon! You can surpass OCR!! You can succeed in whatever path you choose.
Wow, I'm surprised you're not still with OCR. I had some questions about my purchase of 5MC and emailed you and Ryan, got a response from Ryan but you we're not copied. Now I see why. Had a great experience with you when I purchased the plane, would like to stay in touch, I'll shoot you an email.
Glad you're back Rich. How about an update of where you're based (Orange County?), what you're doing, and the company name, etc.. I'm always looking forward to your videos, and hoping to stop by and see you when I fly my V35A Bonanza out to CA from Florida. No firm time as to when that's gonna happen, but I'm working on it.
I live in Orange County so really all over the place - with clients, even when I had an office in Long Beach. I'll keep everyone updated in future videos!
Hey Rich, Have you or any colleagues tried the new Unleaded AvGas yet? Curious about CHT's and whether there's any valve knock, or stuff like that... Cheers.
I forgot how much I missed your video's, Rich. Sad about Amir's dealings with Kodiak. Poor customer service will always end costing you (the manufacturer) more than doing the right thing. Just stay away from Cirrus's, Amir. 20 plus grand every 10 years, plus the wait, just to redo the chute and rockets would put me off forever. Beautiful Cessna, btw.
Rich. I am in the market for a 182Q or R. You mentioned in this video that you were "bullish" on these aircraft. Do you have a good feel for the current market and whether or not there is any market softening in the next 1-2 years? I'm looking at a '"Q" model with good clean logs, no damage history, Colorado-based except for last 2 years. Original but nice paint, nice interior, updated panel, recent new limit overhaul for 260k. Any thoughts if I would be buying in a market that would see any significant downward price pressure? Just concerned with higher interest rates/inflation causing depressed market. I plan on keeping long term.....
Love to get my hands on transport category aircraft and fly it for a while’s but I don’t think I don’t think airline flying would be a good fit for me! Thanks for the message.
good to see you back...interesting video from Amir about the Kodiak, i was very surprised I notice OCRs address is still on your channel info..are you selling out of there or did you start up your own office?..in any event best of luck and success
Really missed your videos Rich. Was wondering what had happeded. Looking forward to more content from you and Amir in the future. Reckon you should do a little collabertion with Mark @ Skywagon some time.
Thank you! Yeah I exchanged messages with him a few months back - he started interviewing pilots. I thought that was very cool. I plan to stop in next time I'm up there.

That’s a clean 182.
This is my favorite TH-cam channel. I wish you all the best with these new changes!
Really appreciate that - all good with changes, and just going to keep doing what I do! Thank you!
You're back!

Good to see you back! You forgot to put a link to Amir's page.
Yeah - I did. I edited this video myself - other than missing that - what did you think of the edit?
Let me go watch it again, brb
Video is excellent, loved it! I edited my first post here, no link to amir's Kodiak MD page
Hey Rich, Have you or any colleagues tried the new Unleaded AvGas yet? Curious about CHT's and whether there's any valve knock, or stuff like that... Cheers.
I was thinking I had not seen any videos from you. Hope the new venture goes well!
Thank you!
Welcome back dude! Hope you and your family are all doing well! PS- If I were in the military now, I’d be looking for a way out……
Thank you!
Yay Rich!

Been a while Rich - nice to see you back! I am keen on a video comparing a 206HD vs Cirrus
Thank you and that would be an interesting comparison. I’ll see what I can do.

Generally, I don’t think you can go wrong on a good pedigree Q. Call me if you want to talk more details. Thanks for watching!
Hope you well Rich.
I've seen Amirs video on that Kodiak, sad customer support...no excuse.
Agree - I think Kodiak stepped up and took care of Amir. Maybe another video coming!
notice the baggage door is open on landing .
Yeah - that’s a squawk we uncovered when we shut down!
Glad you’re back Rich. With all your experience and quality jet time would you consider the airlines and be hired as a direct Captain?
Love to get my hands on transport category aircraft and fly it for a while’s but I don’t think I don’t think airline flying would be a good fit for me! Thanks for the message.
good to see you back...interesting video from Amir about the Kodiak, i was very surprised
I notice OCRs address is still on your channel info..are you selling out of there or did you start up your own office?..in any event best of luck and success
Thanks for the message - no not selling out of OCR. I thought I had everything changed now, but I'll double check. Thanks again!
Turf the Kodiak and purchase a PC12, put some big tires on the 182 and use it as your back country hauler.
Not a bad plan!
👍🏽👍🏽

@@FlyingwithRich He's had some facinating people on that podcast.
Does Amir need a partner in that 182?I would love to share the costs.👍😁
I think he plans to sell it.
No big deal , looks like the baggage door wasn’t latched
Baggage door latch needs to be replaced - won’t hold.
He was way off centerline at the end
We are working on that!
It was my first landing in the 182 and I was laughing at myself it was so bad in the end… but we survived!
Lose the flaps on touch down…..
Too bad the French bought Quest Aircraft... They used to be a stand up company albeit an underfunded company.....
Fuck the Kodiak lol, just buy a Caravan.
"Backtrack" from Kodiak 100 to old school Cessna C182.
A big backtrack, but 182 still a pleasure to fly!
