Here is some information regarding the 3/4 inch pour spout from Scepter that fits the Military Fuel Can 2.5 or 5 Gal. The video is broken into 2 parts. This is part 2.
I use a short piece of 1/4 inch aquarium air hose, just put one end over the vent hole then blow. that clears the breather tube of any fuel. It works very well, and eliminates all spillage.
it is a flaw and really a detriment to the rest fo the quality. No excuse for such a mess. And having to clear the vent is just dumb. So much for simplicity. Been trying to find info as to the reason why for may years now. I bought the last of the fancy civilian gas can colours. Took years before I needed to use it but then a nasty disappointment when it leaked! Avoided using it ever since,
I'm thinking a short, light burst of canned air into the vent hole would clear any fuel in the interior vent tube and thus eliminate the initial fuel drip.
Hi! I want to buy a Scepter synthetic jerrycan but I heard somewhere that in general, for long term fuel storage a metal NATO jerrycan could a better option. Do you think the Scepter jerrycan you show on the video is comparable to a metal jerrycan or has is its drawbacks being synthetic?

Thank you for explaining the vent tube problem! I could never figure out how it was leaking. This is a very annoying design flaw.
