  • For this dish, according to the recipe, there are glass noodles. But it was not to be found in my area , I did it with another one . But keep in mind you need a glass one, so it will be right.

one simple answer to your question on various Filipino dishes is that the Philippines was first colonized by Spain in 1521, then the Americans came in late 1800s and then came the Japanese during World War II, so our cuisine is greatly influenced by these colonizers, plus the fact that Filipinos can be found in any part of the world so they bring back some influence from these places. More power and God bless.

You know Liza , the way we cook our chicken sotanghon we also, used chopped gingers to add more flavors. Use also, chicken powder broth or our Filipino fish sauce & black peppers. I do put fried garlic to give my broth much better flavors. We’re, happy & proud that your family love & enjoying different Filipino Dishes. Try the Beef Steaks another Filipino Best Dish. There is a book called "Chicken Soup for the Soul" and a compilation of life stories, challenges, struggles and triumphs. Chicken soup is said to heal, bring warmth and relieve a person's ailing body and soul. That is why soup is famous in the Philippines. Most poor people have soup for their dish as soup makes small amount of food appear plenty, especially for the poor people. Read up on this book, you will love it. Your sotanghon looks so yummy and delicious. I feel like making it now, it's cold here in Sydney atm.

You cooked it perfectly. I regret to tell you though that that is not a sotanghon soup, that is miswa soup. Sotanghon and miswa are two different noodles with different taste and textures although both are delicious noodles. I will share you a tip in buying a good quality sotanghon when you come back here in the Philippines. Go to the wet market, find a grocery store and ask for sotanghon with the word “ sapporo” on the plastic cover. A bit expensive but worth it. You cant find this type of sotanghon in a mall’s grocery section. Wet markets in Metro Manila are the places that you surely can buy it. Thanks and more power to your show.

looks so appetizing! arseny our russian baby with filipino taste buds ❤
sotanghon is one of my favorites dishes❤🎉
yes it is also cokked here when one is sick.
imagine cooking it on Russian's winter 🎉 wow! so comforting
    anyways points pls.
    1. sotanghon is cooked with ginger
you sautee it together with onion and garlic.
most filipinos love ginger taste but not actually biting on it.
so just cracked your ginger, or big slices (can be removed while eating😂)
    2. with lots of crispy garlic as toppings, if there is no fried garlic there, you can toast finely chopped garlic (unlike crispy)
3.i am not sure about the kind of rice noodles you used.
but the usual sotanghon, absorbs the soup well, but do not become soggy.
so if you're planning to also include this in your deliveries, kindly pack separate soup in separate container,
the receiver can just re heat the soup w/o re heating the sotanghon and veggies
    have fun🎉
