Wasn’t sure when The Black Curtain released as a single but within the context of the whole album, I love it. Got my vinyl copy this weekend just gone and I’ve had it on repeat since!
You know what I was kind of the same. Especially when they first previewed Caught In The Treads - it was such a difference but then I guess that's what they wanted to showcase was the huge variety that is on display here. It's definitely going to be one of the most talked about records of this year I think. Particularly in the realms of Death Metal - still waiting on my LP but it'll get here haha! Thanks for checking out the video!
There's the Gatecreeper review! I am so excited to throw this album on when I'll be outside with my son today, working on his shot for an upcoming competition he has with hockey. It is something I can throw on that is heavy, but also digestible. Based on your review, this album sounds like a mix between Swedish death metal and the gothic aesthetic of a band like Tribulation. if that's the case, I'm all ears! I have another recommendation for you Tris. If you haven't heard it yet, check out the album Finding Love in Strange Places by PreHistoric Animals. It's a great companion piece to Wheel's Charismatic Leaders album that you reviewed a while back.
Hahaha I did tell you that it was on the way! What did you think of the record now that you've had a bit of time to digest it? I couldn't agree more, it's heavy as balls but never really feels too overbearing or anything like that you know? I haven't heard of that band or the record so will definitely have to check it out! thanks for the recommendation buddy - this week's review is Ulcerate!
I've never seen them play just yet! I really, really want to and I know that they're coming over here later in the year so hopefully that will be my chance as I really don't want to miss another time that they're here. I have heard incredible things from their live performance too. Really exciting stuff! thanks for checking out the video!
This was my first introduction to your channel and it was a beauty. Very nice descriptions and transitions, well done. Also, this album is in my top 3 for the year, I can say that much. A ripper and a shredder. And yes, i hit the "subscribe" button. All the best from sunny upstate NY.
Hey there and welcome!! Thanks so much for checking the channel out, sorry that it's taken a little bit for me to get back to you, I was at Download Festival this weekend and it was tricky to keep up with everything haha! That being said, it's really awesome that you checked out the video and I appreciate it massively. Top 3 in the year! That's awesome, I am sure that there are a lot of people that are thinking the same, I think that we'll be seeing this one on a lot of end of year lists for sure. What are the other two that are holding the top spot for you? I would love to know! I try and get back to every comment that I can but sometimes it just takes time, but I'll do my best! Thanks again my friend
Been awhile on your channel and can’t wait to catch up on your videos for 2024. A lot of badass music already for 2025 and we only in May! Great review and loving this gnarly album by Gatecreeper. Love the the DFHVN shirt Tris!
Thanks so much for the kind words here! I'm curious to see which videos you've watched so far? There's a couple of absolutely fantastic records that have come out this year and the fact that you like DFHVN is a great shout. Thanks for taking the time to watch it and hope to see you on the next one!
Yeah fs dude. I’ve seen the reviews on upon Stone, Slimelord, Necrot, Full of Hell and Skeleton Remain. A lot of killer albums and I have been listening to death metal, blackgaze, and skramz. The new Glassing album rips. And enjoying the new albums from Civerous and Coffins. Can’t to hear the new Pallbearer. Cheers dude and to more badass music.
Definitely a Death n Roll vibe, a lot of people are comparing it to Wolverine Blues which I do think is a fair comparison. I think there's more than meets the surface to it thougha and it definitely grows on you!
That can often be the way though can't it! It's the kind of reputation that comes when the band finishes but there must have been something there when the band were around otherwise they wouldn't have this legendary feeling to them. Anyway, I definitely think that the Dismember flag is flying nice and high here haha! What do you think and thanks for checking out the video!

I absolutely adore this album. Thanks for the review!
Hell yeah! That's awesome and thank you for the kind words. I appreciate the love - what's your favourite track on the album by any chance?
@@TheMetalTris Superstitious Vision. That cowbell, man. That cowbell.

I get a Death n roll vibe with this album as well. It’s a really good album. Well written.

@@TheMetalTris I love Wolverine Blues
Dismember got hyped at their debut, but never had any commercial success after. It's strange how they are bigger now they dont make records

Hell yes!!
Hell yes indeed! Thanks for watching the video and hope you enjoyed it!
This one is very awesome
It definitely is, has a lot of swagger to it that I think a lot of modern sound is lacking - definitely a tight record!
its awesome 🤘🤘
Couldn't agree more, straight old school nostalgic goodness but with a modern twist, that's what we love!
@@TheMetalTris ty for the reply .. it's cool that you reply to every comment 🤘cheers
