What a thoughtul video! What would I immediately replace? 1. Little Black Dress, definitely. 2. Great pair of jeans, probably boyfriend style. 3. Black long-sleeve t-shirt. I have probably "too many" clothes, but I'm an artist, so I'm drawn to colorful and unusual items. However, almost every time I get dressed for any occasion, I end up reaching for a Little Black Dress, or a black t-shirt and jeans. For shoes, I would immediately replace an old pair of cowboy boots. Love that Free People tank! Love love LOVE that patchwork maxi dress...that's possibly THE most flattering dress I've ever seen on you!
My faves are my skinnies (I know, don't judge, but they fit my bod best), denim jacket, cashmere sweater. Boots and sneakers! Okay, five, but I love these! Great video!
My three items: 1. Denim jacket - the one I have is a few years old from American Eagle that is slightly oversized, but the softest denim and worn almost vintage feel. It’s so good 2. Anthropologie somerset dress - this gorgeous maxi dress (I have in two colors) is so gorgeous and a bit more formal but so flattering. Love it for teaching with sneakers, or I wore it to a summer wedding 3. The madewell perfect vintage mid rise jean- they still are high enough rise for me with my short torso, but the wash is gorgeous and they dress up or down so easily Thanks for coming to my Ted talk

This video gave me something to think about when I go thrifting next time, because I do need to purge my closet and rebuild my wardrobe. Not from scratch, but a lot of my clothes don't fit me anymore.

One thing I've noticed about your style is it seems like all the pieces seem timeless and classic. Even the patterned dresses seem timeless. I love that you have a colour pallet that bring out your hair, eyes and skin tone. Like green seems to be a common theme. The only thing I don't get is the striped button downs. I'm not a fan of that style but love everything else. I've learnt so much from you about style and you inspired me to buy Loafers and collect my capsule wardrobe. Thanks Jess!

If I unfortunately lost my wardrobe, I would immediately thrift these 12 items - beige crop cardigan, black cami top, pink tshirt, striped button down, black or floral blouse, high waist midwash straight leg jeans, light wash denim shorts, black trousers, midi sleeveless black dress, maxi sleeveless floral dress in pink or red, light colored closed toe mules and a midsize bag with top handle and sling in black, beige or white. Knowing the thrift stores around me, this is definitely possible to buy in a day and without breaking the bank.
My three items would be: - Straight Leg Lee Jeans with 35 inseam - a boxy Graphic T-shirt made from cotton - a maxi dress with sleeves I would also rebuy a good black coat and black combat boots.
My picks - agree with with white and striped button down, my striped one has blue pin strioes, white lined linen blend trousers by JCrew, black linen trousers by Madewell, white t-shirt, black t-shirt, maxi sleeveless t-shirt dress and black knee length sleeveless t-shirt dress (I can wear my t-shirts and button-downs under or over these dresses), striped Breton style sweater by Joules, silk slip skirt by LilySilk, taupe cotton knit cardigan by Everlane, medium wash button up Cheeky jean by Everlane. I’ e had to think about this in preparation for a trip in September where I am only allowed to bring a small backpack (no carry-on size item) that has to fit under the seat in front of me on the plane. I will wear my bulkiest items and pack the others, wearing a pair of white sneakers and packing a pair of Birkenstocks. Great post

I also just checked the tag and it has no additional info on length, so I think they're just the standard non-altered length!
I just wondered if you would ever consider doing a video about online thrifting. I don't have many good thrift stores in my area. Any ideas about how to get quality second-hand items online would be great.
Omg i have so many clothes. Being plus size, the thought of starting over is terrifying. I would have to do at least one good pair of jeans (probably my Good American jeans or Old Navy), and then several dresses since I only wear dresses/skirts to church so that would need to be replaced right away. I don't have a dress that I would have to replace specifically. And then I have so many t-shirts that would be impossible to replace, but one pair of jeans with an array of nerdy/cute Tee Turtle tees would be perfect

I have a similar body to you… including the boobage lol my fav jeans overall are lucky brand… they just fit the petite & curvy body so much better than other brands…. I love how Levi’s wedgie fit look in pics but if I’m Honest I wear my lucky brand jeans sooo much more. While they are both 99% cotton It feels like lucky brand are slightly not as thick cotton which just works better for me .. I own way more dresses than jeans lol

Try the linen tailored shorts from old navy… they changed summer fashion for me. I got them in black and tan.

Thriftiest thrifts - agolde jeans, long sleeve linen button downs, sunglasses, and Sam Edelman shoes ( so comfortable) 😉 and gym shark leggings.
