I've been using an Aura for several years. I have it and it's paid for, but I would not buy it again. Not because it's a poor unit, but because I use a LR Baggs Anthem pickup now, and it sounds the most natural of any pickup I've ever used. So I don't really need the internal sounds of the Aura. I keep it because the compressor is great and I like having eq at my feet. I will continue to experiment with some of the internal sounds of the Aura. And I usually find keeping the mix knob around 10:00 is best. There are a LOT of really bad and unusable internal sounds. So using them 100% (or anything close) is not an option. Your mention of 'metallic' sounding is a great description. Metallic and often a funky midrange.
I still have my original Yamaha ag stomp. It's got a tuner, mic, simulations, tube, dynamic, condensor, preamp simulations, blend, presents, a very good e.q., and a limiter. I use a passive Knk mini to begin with and ditched the under saddle piezoelectric pickups a long time ago. I don't use feedback controls. They kill frequencies. I control feedback with common sense, old school methods. I use a Martin OM28 and a Roland Ac60 amp. I run a 10" bass keyboard amp through the sub in the back of the Roland. I run a moog drum pedal into another auxiliary in the back of the Roland. The Roland automatically sends the lower frequencies to the bass amp, and it sounds much bigger, richer, more full, than with just the small acoustic amp. The Roland also has an out to use it with a p.a.The Roland produces better, smoother vocals than some other amps as well.
Have a battery powered under saddle for my Taylor 410ce. Venue DI doesn’t quite eq the quack out. Hoping this will. Like there’s some compression. Koch did a promo for Fishman on this. Appreciate your example; where you find the feet?
How did you wire the Aura D.I to the effects? If I see it correctly, there should be only one FX loop connection? Where exactly is the send and where is the return or what cable is needed for that? Very great and inspiring video!
Thanks for watching. I'm glad you liked it. The FX loop works with a TRS to mono jacks cable. I bought mine from www.loopipedals.com.au/. Which if you are in Australia is a great place to buy your cables. I hope this helps.
Great sounds. If you switched the positions of the Bluesky and the brigadier, then you could switch the delay and the fav switch off and on with one foot, as the switches are right next to each other.
This is a new one to me. I'll check it out. Although it doesn't look like they have Australian distribution. I'll have to see if i can get my hands on one.
Please… can you tell me how to hook up other pedals to the Fishman??? I have no clue how to make this thing work with my Fishman aura. I am coming out of a Fishman loudbox mini to the Fishman Aura. Then the guitar is plugged into the aura. From the effects loop how do you hook up the pedals?
Thanks. I'm glad it helps. In terms of vocals I generally just bring my own mic, which at the moment is a Shure Beta 87c. I did try a TC Helicon unit on my board for a little while but didn't love it. It is something i'm interested to explore in the future though.
Thanks. When I set up my sound there wasn’t one available for a Cole Clark, so I had to do a bit of digging to find one that worked for me. They might be available now, I just haven’t looked in a while.
10 minutes in. Your paps didnt like the fishman. You dont like that much of its features and the ranges of the knobs in terms of how it effects your signal. The blue sky shimmer it didnt do what u wanted it to. But the opening line of your video is you spent the past 15 years on research to develop a sound that works for you. I'm pretty sure. These aren't the pedals for you.
Check out my tutorial on how to play open D tuning. th-cam.com/video/MnVt_hhIprs/w-d-xo.html

Gorgeous sound. This is quite an accomplishment. You have set the standard for acoustic players

Cool stuff Tim just getting into pedals so always good to see these tips.
G'Day Tim... Thanks for interesting and helpful comments... Blessings... Chris W...☘...
Thanks for watching. I'm glad it was helpful.
Could you show in detail how the connections between each pedal go?, especially how to connect the fx loop. Have a good day
Great demonstration 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video Tim. Looking forward to more. Hope you're well!
Thanks. I have a heap more videos planned, so stay tuned... :)
Thanks or sharing.

So the combo goes to FX loop, the L goes to send and the R goes to receive?

You know as I was saying it in the video I thought the same thing! 😂 I should really do that.
Do you use the global EQ on the Fishman Aura or do you have it off?
Why isn’t the DI last in the signal chain?
Up
Try an audio sprocket Tone Dexter. Game changer, at least for me.

The jumbo 10 is amazing tô full (or almost) The blend on fishman aura
I’ll have to check it out. I guess it also depends on your guitar and pickup.

Is this guitar micd or what pickup do you recommend?
Thanks for the info, Tim! I'm in the process of getting a rig together and looking at a similar setup. How are you handling vocals?

Great video Tim, maybe the aura would have sounded better after the pickup in my Martin was repaired.
That’s fair. It is a great sounding DI.
I hope I have a dad like yours and he will give me all pedals he bought :p
Hahaha. I know right! You should see his pedal board. Maybe I'll do a video about it at some point.
I like your tone, but don't you need an IR for the acoustic guitar?

$1700 in pedals….without even speaking of an audio interface, amp, guitar, etc…you must play music for a living mate? Cheers
