The purpose of listening to pink noise is to block out all the external noise that our world produces. To some it may be noise, but when you have 3 kids running around the house all day screaming and crying without stop, a TV in the background playing kids cartoons on repeat, this is no longer noise, but a waterfall of bliss to my ears and extremely soothing to my brain. I like Pink more than White noise too. Pink Noise was created by an early 20th Centurey Bell Labs research team polling thousands of human subjects in listening tests as to what sounds even from a human perception perspective.
@@dalesnale Yea, pink noise is neutral, so the perceived loudness for the lows is the same as for the highs, making it a very natural-sounding noise, kinda like a waterfall or something.
Pink noise matches our hearing because we are most sensitive to mid freq. in the range 1,5k-3k-5k because that is the place where human voice is placed. Thats what you hear when you talk on the telephone. The reason why we hear it like that is because evolution made us to hear whenever needed. Someone screams in the jungle looking for help, you will hear it. Music bangs in the club full volume..you will hear the human voices talking in background no matter how strong music is. Pink noise matches that hearing and often, sounds natural to us.
Pink noise can potentially damage hearing if played at very high volumes for extended periods of time. Like any loud noise, prolonged exposure to pink noise, even at lower volumes, can lead to hearing loss over time. The continuous, high-frequency rumble of pink noise can be fatiguing on the ears
@@mystic4l Huh. 😑 Maybe that’s why my hearing has gotten worse over the last few years…my 5 year old has also been listening to hit since pretty much birth. Awesome…
I've been travelling for 24 hours now. Just finishing up a 6 hour layover in a freezing cold airport that has a pa playing music, a tv playing news and two seperate channels of announcements not to mention all the backup beepers on the shuttles and the screaming kids. Thank god for this track. bless you.

Try a weighted blanket- you can get one here - marceoutlet is the seller name on eBay - I buy my 600 thread count and down luxury bedding here at LEAST twice a year - she auctions Macy bedding returns or overstock etc (not used stuff - brand new and expensive stuff) I got a 15 lb Serta with the glass beads and cover but they start at 9.99 and they sell pretty low usually- the shipping is the expensive part but $15 is avg & they say 15 is avg but say a man needs a 20 lb one - scored mine for 11.11 lol and it’s the best thing ever- the feet take time to get used to but it’s not hot and it’s like a hug all over - a weightless feeling- I LOVE MINE (no not affiliated with the seller just trust her and have been buying from her for years- INSANE deals really should not be telling everyone lolol
I really appreciate your work Dale. I've seen other channels on TH-cam who sell their noises... and monetize those videos with things like 8 minute advertisements... Really ruins the experience! Keep on keepin' on.
Thanks. I create the noise ambience with the same love and care I would making a music album or movie soundtrack. I sometimes laugh at the irony of truly minimalistic content being so appreciated in the comments. My musical colleagues don't get it (or TH-cam for that matter) and poke fun at me. That's okay because I believed these niche creations would find grateful listeners worldwide. And yes never a mid-stream add in any channel videos. Keep on listening. Dale

I like to see funny comments, but, as a meloman, who used to listen a lot of music, I can say, that pink noise is really the best thing i've ever heard.
I've had severe tinnitus and hyperacusis for about 9 years and even with a sound machine and sedatives haven't slept more than 2 hours continuously in all that time so I'm looking forward to trying your pink noise - thanks also for making the screen black.
James S are you still using this video? Is it helping? Do you play it very soft, regular or loud (I know it's relative to the individual but I'm trying to get an idea of the volume). Thanks!
I've recently decided to quit weed, I'm 30 started when I was 15 and have always loved loud music and video games (most notably Skyrim with immersive music) I haven't even quit properly yet but I've stopped smoking in the day entirely for the past week and cut down massively. Somewhere along the line I thought my ears needed popping so I tried for days with no luck until I googled weed and ringing ears and found out it was Tinnitus. Then when I think about it I did hear ringing when I was always stoned but it was more like waves or a heartbeat than ringing and didn't bother me really. Anyway It's only mild ringing and a few crackles and pops so I'm hoping it goes away soon at least when I cut the weed completely but for now this is very soothing after a long sober day and maybe the last couple of joints I ever smoke. Took me far too long to quit but even with this unforeseen circumstance I already feel better for doing it. Hope it helps somebody out there. Peace
Thanks again, I'm single which is one of the reason's I quit but I have a 12 year old son who's been keeping me busy and happy (thank god!) while he's on summer holidays. He's been jogging with me and I live near Blackpool England (Fleetwood to be precise) and so I'm blessed with a promenade sea front walk and lots to do, Blackpool has a big theme park which we went to the other day and we're keeping busy, I could do with a change of scenery but I'm also rediscovering the one I already had which is nice. I'm getting towards two weeks now which is when your supposed to start feeling better so I'm staying positive and not being tempted. I will google the healing crisis as well so thanks again.

Oh my god this is literally everything I have ever wanted. I listened to the other video all the time but would have to cover my laptop screen before. Thank you so so so much this help me sleep when my anxiety is ruining me I cannot thank you enough

I love how the high pitched -EEEEEEEEEEEE- which transits from my deaf left ear into my eye socket and across my brain into my hearing ear suddenly deafens, transitioning into a muted -kssshhhhhh- soothing and melting the tension generated between my hemispheres and suddenly I can sleep... and dream. Majority of my life has been empty, unconscious, blackness when I slept; I always felt tired, cranky, and insomniatic, insomniatic due to lack of actual, restful, sleep. Suddenly I'm dreaming, resting, and feeling a sense of fullness I never imagined from... sleep. I've tried other static and color noises.. this is the only one that works. Thank you for the sleep. Oh yeah, like the moment you step out from the dank silence.
After multiple videos of youtube trash, this feels like cleaning out my brain with a steam cleaner. I cannot thank you enough for this.
Love it. The sonic scrubber!
I feel so much better after only 3 days of this. Thanks so much!
@Righting the Narrative Bear /
I find it adorable that this lasts 10 hours assuming some of us sleep that long... 🙂 When I woke up today, it already stopped playing... Thank you!! Was lovely. ☺
Hearing the final fade, or sleeping though it is the payoff. Thanks for listening.
Hearing the final fade, or sleeping though it is the payoff. Thanks for listening.
They don't make music like this any more!! Can't wait to hear it live next month 🥰
Me too, I’ll be performing in the late night chill zone.
Best thing ever: Reading the comments whilst listening to Pink Noise!
This is way better than white noise, it’s sounds smoother and doesn’t hurt my head
I like Pink more than White noise too. Pink Noise was created by an early 20th Centurey Bell Labs research team polling thousands of human subjects in listening tests as to what sounds even from a human perception perspective.
It's because they make the high pitched sounds quieter
@@dalesnale Yea, pink noise is neutral, so the perceived loudness for the lows is the same as for the highs, making it a very natural-sounding noise, kinda like a waterfall or something.
If you like this, you'll love brown noise
Pink noise matches our hearing because we are most sensitive to mid freq. in the range 1,5k-3k-5k because that is the place where human voice is placed. Thats what you hear when you talk on the telephone. The reason why we hear it like that is because evolution made us to hear whenever needed. Someone screams in the jungle looking for help, you will hear it. Music bangs in the club full volume..you will hear the human voices talking in background no matter how strong music is. Pink noise matches that hearing and often, sounds natural to us.
I have severe tinnitus, you saved my life with this. i can finally sleep peacefully
thank you so much

I have tinnitus too 😥
Been listening to this every single night the whole night since 2018. It's about time I said thank you. ♡
Fantastic. Thanks you for listening.
Awesome…
@@mystic4l and thank you for this information…I had no idea it could do that
I've been travelling for 24 hours now. Just finishing up a 6 hour layover in a freezing cold airport that has a pa playing music, a tv playing news and two seperate channels of announcements not to mention all the backup beepers on the shuttles and the screaming kids. Thank god for this track. bless you.
The sound my kids beg me for so we can all fall asleep peacefully with a noisy city around us. Thank you. And thank you for being add free
You are welcome! Thanks for the story.

Found this through my nurse and it helped me massively, being aspergic having things that can stop a meltdown is extremely rare so knowing I can always come back to this is always gunna be helpful :D
This brings back memories… my mom used to sing this to me everyday 💙 it’s so nice to see new people rediscovering the classics!!
Ah yes mother nature

It's so strangely adorable.

These are making me laugh hysterically
This is a good version of pink noise. I was looking at several versions and this one works.
Puts my newborn to sleep in minutes. No longer fights sleep once this starts playing! Deeper sleep as well. -- thank you!!
Thanks for listening .
Dale
Thank you!!!!! I just discovered “pink noise” I wonder if this in any way correlates to ASMR interest

Congrats on the new one :)
Thank you for making this! I'm a music producer and this really helps me "reset" my ears after spending too long in the studio. 😁
Been there many times which is why it was created.
Been listening to this on repeat for 5 years now I'm still amazed at how complex this piece is. No note is like the other. Astonishing!
Beethoven was obsessed with filling the tonal frequency range. He would have liked this note.
Pink noise feels heavy whenever im wearing headphones. Like it just puts this preassure on my ears. It helps alot with tinnitus. Thanks-
Use this video every single night. Have done for 3 years now since I became a mother and sleeplessness took over! Thank you for the small thing that you do which affects me hour after hour after hour day after day month after month year after year

this sound feels different if u think of it as different things . like it’s calming if u think of it as running water but it’s deeply unsettling if you think about it as tv static

I turned this noise on during a panic attack and it helped me calm down 🥺💓
Breathe deep. Glad to hear.

Thanks for sharing Peaceful Moments
I've had severe tinnitus and hyperacusis for about 9 years and even with a sound machine and sedatives haven't slept more than 2 hours continuously in all that time so I'm looking forward to trying your pink noise - thanks also for making the screen black.
James S are you still using this video? Is it helping? Do you play it very soft, regular or loud (I know it's relative to the individual but I'm trying to get an idea of the volume). Thanks!
Low volume...is what most prefer. It need not be loud to serve your purpose. Thanks
I was diagnosed with hyperacusis, did this help?
This sounds like a waterfall or a downpour. Two natural sounds that put me right to sleep. This is PERFECT!
This pink noise does magic to my colic baby. She fall asleep instantly whenever she hears this. ♥️
I've listened to this twice fully and I love it, and it's amazing for my baby ❤❤
I hope everything is going well for you!!
Man Kind How you doing now?
Hope you're doing well
Oh my god. That's awesome. Great job!
Nothing freaks me out more than when I get to the end of the 10 hours and it starts fading out. Every time I feel like I'm losing my hearing from too much pink noising
The 10 second fade can catch you off guard. :)
Fade is better than abrupt sile a littlence which wakes me up

My most successful music escapade indeed. Been in quite a few bands. lol
It's not band. You obviously don't know what the hell you are going on about!!!!;!;
There’s a lot of people saying they love a certain part but for me the entire thing just explain my whole life and presents and it has really opened up my eyes
if everyone listened to this then we wouldn't need therapists. if i get mad at someone then i just listen to this for 30 minutes and i feel great again.

Good Luck on your exams everyone! You're doing an amazing job! Just searching for this and looking for it for memorisation or concentration or simply to blcok out distractions proves your obviously studying and working hard, so im sure it will pay off! Remeber to drink some water and have a snack to boost your energy!
You have no idea.
This has been a complete lifesaver! Whenever my newborn is fussy, I play this and within less than 5 minutes, he calms down.

I've found it actually boosts creative concentration. When I write I have certain types of music for certain types of scenes / characters. I layer the pink noise under the music. I can't hear it, but I know it's there. Or perhaps it's better to say I know when it's not there. The quality difference is obvious.
