That is what many people don't understand...how long resellers spend in the thrift stores...HOURS at a time. It's fun, but it's also hard work!

I hate when stores like this, that run off donated items price things up so high. It’s getting to the point where even if you weren’t buying to resell the discount is barely worth getting the item.

I agree 100 percent. Thrift stores are no longer affordable, except on their discounted colors. They have started looking at comps also and pricing accordingly. People who can't afford to buy new, also can't afford used.
Lolol not being rude but it's because of resellers like this . I know shes making a living but thrift stores hate it when the resellers are making alot more money for an item they sell for a few dollars,remember thrift stores were originally for poor low income families so they can have nice stuff too. Thrift stores may get everything donated but don't blame them . Blame resellers for making channels like this and showing off all the money they make. I don't mean to be rude but it's true. As well as making a profit on the stuff they get cheap they also make money from their channels.
It's starting to be more expensive to shop at goodwill than others stores that only sell new items.
Not in Wisconsin. Our goodwils don't even put the expensive items in our stores. They are put for sale online at high prices. They are for profit now. My son went through their employment training.

Ashley, I would love it if you would make a video that shows us how you clean up your items that need cleaning, like that backpack, shoes, and handbags. I'm at a loss when it comes to this and have managed to ruin so many items trying to clean them. A photography video would be great too. I love watching your videos and I learn so much already. Your so knowledgeable! When I go to thrift for resale, I know a decent amount of brands. But you're a genius and make it look easy!
Savers has gone even more insane with their prices on clothes in recent months. Especially any well known name brands.
Some of my thrift stores stock up once a week like on Sunday and Monday they’re closed and Tuesday is the best day to find stuff, but they also put stuff out throughout the week, but major restock on Tuesday.
I went to savers the other day and found 2 Rhodes dresses they were 13 dollars each with the 20% off and one already sold for 145.00 and I hate going to savers because they are so overpriced

I like that you will spend a little more to impress your buyers, your knowledgeable, tasteful, care, your not ripping off, plus you care about your kids, they come with you, no problem to you, when you must! Savers is not just from donations, I'm located in Massachusetts and my stores buy inventory also. They buy bales of used clothes so they do have a cost in some inventory. Also I believe they operate as a for profit organization so the up price makes sense.
Yes the one by me will buy up clothes from goodwill on discount days to sell for higher prices.

Have been watching your videos for ages and love every single one - you're the most enjoyable thrifter to watch. I used to do pallets in the UK (which is how I found you), but watching all your videos I've always wanted to go to a thrift store since coming to the US. So at the weekend I went to my first goodwill! It was an experience 😉 I had "this is the first time I've ever found this in the wild" going through my head every time I went to the tag on a new item 😂 love what you do but could never do it myself, so I enjoy living vicariously through your videos! Just watched one of your older videos, it was one that you shared about your ups and downs and the struggles of being a new mom, It really got to me so I thought I had to let you know, That you have inspired me to do better with my everyday life and my kids and evrything even though , my kids unfortunately are alot older now my youngest is 14 and my others are 18 ,20 and 23 , I still have those days running around doing errands house work ,on top of my job its a lot even though they do most everything them selfs it has it other challenges and I have days I get up set with them I think am I a bad mom because I have to tell them no or what ever and get depressed but I , I think back to the days that they were young . It goes by so so so fast, and I would love to go back for even just a day. But I just love watching you it is kind of my me time to relax and take a breather . Anyway , I just wanted to say thank you so much for doing the videos. I hope they keep coming.

Goodwills are closed at night and there is no overnight crew. I've worked at 2 different stores. They stock shelves up until 1-2 hours before closing and then start stocking again first thing in the morning when they open.

I have a love hate relationship with Savers! I love the items they get, but I hate their crazy prices. I do shop there to get items to resell but only once in a while.

I think it depends on the thrift store. Where I work, we restock all day but we're lacking volunteers badly and so we don't restock as much as we want because we also clean every item.

My motto is, if I'm not sweating I'm going too slow! 😂 I set a timer and really try to work hard to get done in a specific time. I don't always succeed but it pushes me to go as fast as I can!
No Bulls! Gym shoes, squash shoes, baseball turf shoes etc! Used for many sports in our house! Found a pair for resale at Goodwill once and my son went insane! $10 brought so much joy!

Regardless of comps other resale persons on TH-cam DON’T pick up any clothing that is damaged like those tan pants with a snag on them! You will learn that they will stay on your shelf a very long time! Reason being, you need to notify about the snag on the pants.

I watched that Antique Roadshow episode, I loved that older man, imagine how that changed his life! I just found linen Wilfred shorts at the St Vincent thrift for $6…almost didn’t get them because they raised their prices from $4 to $6 and they were an XS, but on my way out on the free table I found a nice Free People top! So….it was OK! I can’t move my Tommy Hilfiger to save my soul, but the board shorts were cool, probably always good. Good Eileen Fisher finds
I have a Savers down the street and I LOVE it . . .when it is 30-50% Off :) Otherwise their prices are bonkers. Especially for jeans. Luckily it is so close I can pop in daily and check the new racks and hit them up on Monday every week for 50% Off sale. I also love to shop when they send the awesome coupons.

Have two questions
(Just found you recently and I'm loving your videos)
1) Do you go through the trouble of washing and doing a half cycle on dryer (so things don't discolor or shrink anymore) to deodorize things, make them smell clean? Like, do you clean or deodorize any items, iron them to get wrinkles out? Etc?
2) And other question is, Do you List/Post the ACTUAL size on clothing tag, Or what size it ACTUALLY looks like? Like, you'll see a tee thats says "XL" in women's, but you KNOW it looks more like a Medium or Large because of all the washer and dryer cycles it's been through, So do you Just list the tag size every time, or do you ever put in description notes that it looks smaller than the tag size?

I don't unfortunately, I'm so sorry! I may have the kindle version on Amazon somewhere but I lost track of that. I will say if you go to your local facebook yard sale groups and look at your local news classifieds, you can totally find yard sales and make a map of the ones you want to go to in your area for the next day!
In my experience they stock in the morning when they open. Not at night

It's hard to get anything decent in my Savers for a good price, all the clothing is high priced.
