- Heading into Sprint, reigning Games champion Tia-Clair Toomey led the pack with just a 15-point lead over second-placed Kristin Holte, who is known for her sprinting. The two athletes raced their way to the final heat. Ultimately, Holte took the win in the event with a time of 0:26.65 seconds and began to close the gap on Toomey, who took third in the event. Brooke Wells, who sat in seventh place before Event 6, took a 10-second penalty for stepping on the line during her heat. She was cut from the field, ending her 2019 Games early.

Honestly I was feeling so lazy and had no motivation to exercise but after watching this . I feel so motivated and encouraged and these women are amazing!!!!

Fantastic athletes, just wish I could watch the races. The camerawork would often focus on a single athlete so you had no idea who won.
At @6:54 you can see Brooke Well's time in red at 38:77. The 'talks' with her judge must've been regarding a penalty that was added to her time, and if the penalty was removed she would've made it into the semi final

The penalty was due to her stepping only slightly out of her lane on the final turn

You need to see who's winning and losing. So only doing close ups of one person you can't compare how far or near they are compared to anyone else.
It would be like recording soccer but zooming in on only the ball. There would be no point in recording.

She stepped out of bounds. It seems pretty harsh to add a 10 sec penalty. Immediately out of contention. There is a video that went into it in more detail and it’s worth reading more about it.
Terrible camera angles.. sheesh we can barely see the race. Zoom out and catch the entire field next time. Other than that, great job.

What is a chip
@@tess3612 a device that communicates with the finish membranes in order to get an accurate time. The problem is that it is on their ankle so you can gain up to 0.1s or lose up to 0.1 depending on your leg cycle.

I look at these truly athletic athletes, who in this case ... are women, by their gender .... and I understand that .... me and 98% of the rest of the people who are men by their gender,. ... we cannot be compared with them, because ... we are weaker than them in our will to win and in the physical state of our body ... nice to see a running short. many track and field women runners wearing the bikini/ thong look ridiculous and some hard to unsee.
The butt huggers they wear are often more functional than typical shorts, which tend to ride up and restrict movement in faster events

It really comes down to anatomy. The butt huggers prevent a lot of potential wardrobe malfunctions for girls, but it wouldn't work for guys for obvious reasons. The split shorts guys wear are as light and mobile as potential outfits go.

Awh! This looks like a special Olympic event. Let's add some pylons at the end to give it a cross fit look, you know take away from the fact they are too slow for 100, 200, 400 or 800. They’re all so bulky. “Fittest on Earth” as long as the competition involves a lot of heavy reps. And not a lot of aerobic endurance.
