Give credit where credit is due. Loved the intro for this show. Very well done. The insert looks great as well and it should serve you well. Blade changes will be much easier now with the magnetic insert. No more removing all the screws. Nicely done.
You're quite the cowboy! Loved the open! Great video and useful inserts for you! You have really upgraded that new table saw nicely in the past few months.
Your videography is awesome Brother! And so is your project! I haven't made a zero clearance because I plan to upgrade my saw, but definitely will when I do.
Loved the intro to this, Chris! I'd like to see you make a router table next. Not sure if that qualifies as a jig, but I'd love to see what you come up with.
Hi Christophe did you have problem with alignment between blade and tracks? I have the same table saw (version N) and I have this problem. Ps I agree your plans!
Hi Ivan, I don't have this problem, but there are some screws on these table saws that you can use to align the blade. They are not easy to find, and you can reach them from the bottom of the table saw.
Ha ha ha....brilliant! Love a little entertainment with a lesson. Good work Chris! You know what would be cool, is an adjustable miter jig (for the table saw) to cut picture frames; square, rectangular or even octagonal.
Great looking Zero clearance insert Chris. A very important thing to have for a table saw. You should have had a cordless drill/driver holstered up and played The Good Bad and Ugly theme..lol That would have been classic. It was great as it was though. I have to say the entro was my favorite part. Gary
Another great video, thanks for sharing! Did you do a new fence for this Makita MLt100? This is an improvement I would love to see you addressing someday
Thank you for your kind words, my friend! I do have a video about that. It's actually two videos. In this video, th-cam.com/video/Wizh4IDuiMc/w-d-xo.html , you can see how I have built the base of the fence. In this video, th-cam.com/video/mSOystshs7U/w-d-xo.html , I made some improvements I hope these videos will help you. Greetings Christophe
Hello Michael. That little tool is the KMA2900 Multi mark and measuring tool from Kreg. I use it for all my projects and I love it. If you like to see where to buy, there is a link in the description of my videos. I hope this can help you. Thank you for watching. Greetings
Hi Sean. First, thank you for watching my video, that is much appreciated. The thickness of the wood is 18 mm birch plywood. i hope this will help you. Greetings, Christophe
@@christofix thanks for the quick response, i appreciate that. Wasn't sure if 12 or 18mm. I have seen another were it was done with what looked like aluminium or some kind of metal laminated composite sandwich. It was not in English so couldn't really be sure, also probably sacrificed the blade to cut the saw slot.
Het is inderdaad geen jig maar met dit weer zou dit inderdaad wel leuk zijn. Ik heb dit een paar jaar proffesioneel gedaan dus voor mij aub geen zwembaden meer hahaha.
I only got two bolts, the one you mentioned ( hex screws) I will take a closer look at my machine but i guess there is no third screw. I hope you can remove it my friend. Thank you for watching. Greetings
Oh damn, that is not ok. Maybe there is another way to remove it. I wish i could help you with this. If you have some more questions don't be afraid to ask. Always willing to help! Greetings
@@richardchalmers9271 Gosh, they are "improving" this model with a non-removable riving knife? I've flipped over thick stock and no one else does this? Makita should have stopped production of this model 10 years ago as there is no excuse in the world for a fence or insert like it has. They have known about the problems of this saw and I feel sorry for anyone buying it. Motor is great, and that's it!
I took a pipe wrench and forced the thing out. The remaining bolts will hold the knife in place whenever I need it. Once the third screw is removed it slides in and out. Thinking about making the knive lower (same hight as the blade) and cutting the gap of the insertplate longer. That way I won’t have to remove and replace the knive for every other cut. Don’t know if this will work...
do you know what the difference is between the mlt100 and the mlt100n as I am faced with spending more for the mlt100n or the mtl100 on special but I wonder if the changes are worth the money?
The mlt100 and mlt100n are the same machines ( I guess) there is a difference between the mlt100 and the 2704. The last one is stronger and have a beter fence but i don't think it is worth the extra money. You can make the fence a lot beter like i did in one of my videos and it will cost you almost nothing. IN my case the mlt100 was the best option.
Hi buddy, that's a good question. I left it out for several reasons. The knife was not straight from the start and it was more dangerous to use it than if I didn't use it. Another reason I leave it out is that I never cut large boards, and that's what this knife is really for, many people misunderstand this. 90% of the time I also saw with my crosscut sled and then a riving knife is also unnecessary. I hope that my answer has provided sufficient information because it is difficult to put it in a short comment. If you have any questions about this you can always contact me.

Nicely done insert Christo! The beggining of the video was should I say Epic! :)

Ok, a project like this is fairly simple, but man,I LOVED the intro !!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👊

Love the video man. Can you show how to align the blade with the miter slots?

Hahaha, Cristofix Eastwood, hahahah Hilarious! thanks for watching my friend!
The wild west of woodworking! For your next jig I would like to see circle cutting, not using a router, table saw, jigsaw or bandsaw! Good luck 🍻
Thanks for your idea about the circle cutting jig. Actualy I'm working on an idea like this for a few weeks now.
nice inserts and nice video....
