      Red Beard's Garage that is fun as fuck makes me want to go back to Tennessee we had trails in the woods behind our house when we lived in Tennessee and we all had our own buggy's like that I had a 2 person fox buggy with a 10hp Honda GX governor all the way up torque converter that would do 70 mph all had a little 150cc buggy like that other buggy I had a kazuma falcon 125 we all had our own homemade mini rail buggy's made out of old riding lawnmowers put quad tires on front and back my little brother had a Kawasaki bayou 400 4×4 and my youngest brother had a little kazuma 110 that look like a mini 4×4 quad our dad had a Honda rancher 250 2 wheel drive utility quad and we had trails that went from one part of the ridge to the other side we could ride all day and not go down the same trail

    it's pretty amazing how much you can haul with such a small engine like the gy6. It's no racecar but it did go trough every slope.

    I had a Powell Super Challenger mini bike, it used the torque converter setup as you have, my Powell used a 5 hp Briggs & Stratton and the motor pivoted on its base forwards and back wards to set the belt low or high in the drive pulley so if the motor was fully forwards it was riding in the lower part of the pulley behaving like a low range, not much speed but climb anything, pull the motor back and the belt rides on the upper part of the drive pulley, slow to take off but way more top end, the motor had a chrome lever with a knob atop it and a chromed coil was fastened along the frame above the motor that a tang on the lever slipped into the coils gaps holding the motor in whatever range you wanted, I had a Tote Gote with a 3.5 hp Briggs and torque converter setup about 40 to 1, it would climb a pole if it had traction but it didn't coast off throttle, it was weird riding it on the street turning a slow U turn, you had to be accelerating or the back lash from the gearing was like touching the brakes!

    Its amazing that small GY6 150cc motor shreds the same trails as the 670. I have a Baja DUNE 150 made by TOMBERLIN and it's all tricked out and mine rips the trails in SoCal too. I'm 65 and 175lbs. A favorite toy of mine.

    You ever thought of making a AWD kart using a 670 and some gearboxes to tie all the wheels together? Basically you build like a miniature axle like a vehicle that has positive rear end. By using a gearbox gear ratios of many sizes are possible. And by adding a power steering pump you could make it all wheel steer so you could crab walk also.

    • @RedBeardsGarage

    • @Vindictus67

      Read Beard does a much smoother build than C&C. I think they ad lib a little too much on builds at times, which lowers the capabilities, and makes them prone to failure...

    I have a question I have a Manco Scorpion 606 ! Is there a way to upgrade the tie rods? As well best motor for trail riding ! Don’t care for speed

    • @RedBeardsGarage
      @RedBeardsGarage  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Im sure you could build stronger tie rods for it but I don't know if there is any on the market. For trial riding I like the v twins but you get into a lot of money when going that big. If you don't want to pay that much defiantly a 440cc.

    hello I have a 670 predator I have also encountered the exhaust problem of blowing the wrong direction I used the original flanges from the muffler bought 1 inch conduit pipe from Lowes and then I ordered two one inch hard 90s off of Amazon and I was able to build a very nice header and use a cool motorcycle muffler on my UTV with the 670 Predator engine. I will do a complete video of all the mods I've done to my UTV and the Predator engine very soon and upload it to TH-cam thanks

      @dbfmentertainment9528 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed! I'm in the market for a cart and I have no personal experience to reference what size engine I would be happy with. I have only heard people talking down the 150cc but after seeing its performance here I was surprised the negative stigma. Obviously you have added some performance parts to it but this video has given me some confidence that a 150cc wouldn't be a complete disappointment, obviously we all love more power if we can get it though! This was an enjoyable video to watch, thanks guys!

    Man that zircon was really ripping it up. It seemed like a slug on the other videos. Whatever you did woke it up. Couldn't the 670 catch can be mounted high and return line gravity feed to a valve cover? At the end of the video we finally got to see the sheer torque of the 670. My dream engine for a kart from the first day I saw it at HF. It would be an awesome minibike motor for an oversized scratch built frame. You should lookup 6.5hp pickup.

    RedBeardsGarage I don't remember but what, if any, performance mods are done to the 150cc? I have a 169cc GY6 powered kids side by side and it has NO power. It has trouble going up the ramp onto my trailer. It seems to be geared too high or needs different weights/springs in the CVT.

    • @Moneypit330
      @Moneypit330 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I went back and watched the performance mod video (again). That hammerhead exhaust wouldn't fit on the unit I have. The exhaust exits on the passenger side and is much shorter. Looking at the rear sprocket on the Zircon, it is smaller than the one on mine...so I should have more low end, which it does not.

    • @RedBeardsGarage
      @RedBeardsGarage  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your sprocket is bigger then you should have more torque. I would make sure everything is running right with it before regearing it

      @@Moneypit330 your karts are like mine, most of the gy6 scooter exhaust bolts right up. They even have the sprockets for the gy6 on amazon. Look up 150cc gy6 scooter exhaust. 30 bucks can get you a muffler 60 can get the whole exhaust

      Factory they are gear for speed. Switch to a 39 tooth spocket and 9 or 10 gram rollers and a new torque spring
