    A masterpiece of Reethigowla raga rendered by the great master MDR Sir, beautifully accompanied by the mrudangist and the violinist. This is unparallel to anybody's rendering.

    Majestic. .. recently heard GNBs version. One should hear that to understand how superior MDR was to others.

    • @rahulanilkumar9562
      @rahulanilkumar9562 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Having heard both versions, I can't choose one over the other. The sangathis in "Sri Padmanabha murare" seem to be made only for GNB. At the same time, I haven't heard a better Reethigowla than MDRs. I am just thankful that we have such clear recordings of both these legends to hear even today.

      Blissful rendition!!!!!! Even though the performance of two artists are not comparable, the style of the great master MDR Sir is truly inimitable. MDR Sir had a unique style for rendering ragas like Reethigowla that was beyond comparison with others.

    Thanks for uploading this awesome परिपालाय माम् in रीतिगौळा raga by Swati Tirunal.
    For an old recording, the mrudanga is so clear, especially the left side is clear along with all the gumakis.

    what a voice and clarity in rendition without an iota of loss in musicality inspite of the lucid style of singing. His forte was the baritone voice with ultimate depth and bass which almost no musician of any generation possessed. A real gem and genius for the world of indian carnatic classical music.

    MDR had paid a really special attention to Reethigowlai. His 'Janani Ninuvina' is one greatest to listen. Several people confirmed that unless you tamper the mangnetic tape, one can not sing in such slow speed.

    Outstanding singing. But I wish that our great masters understood that music for its own sake is a limited objective. It's always sub servient to sahitya and its purpose is to bring out the emotion of the lyrics to the grandest extent possible. If only music and not sahitya is important there never would have been vocal singing. Instruments will perfectly fit the bill.

      There is another version by MDR 's Paripaalayamaam, which runs for 14 minutes, MDR shows what 'Reethigowla' is and I have yet come across some Carnatic music artists to come near his expertise in singing 'Paripaalayamaam'.
