I realize this was quite a while ago, but when I first saw them right after Dookie was released and I was 20 years old, there weren’t a zillion guards around them and it was way easier to get close to them. I last saw them on April 3, 2017 and I was so shocked by the mix of age groups there. I figured it would be mostly people my age who are pretty much their age. I was sitting next to 2 18 year olds who were seeing them for the first time and weren’t even born the first time I saw them. I had brought my own son who had just turned 22. I miss the old club shows, but I’m so happy for their success!
