a little fun neurolinguistics fact! in that most recent interview with harry, he changes his accent so much because he's thinking about certain periods of his life. so when he talks about his family, his home, his parents, it's natural that his accent goes back to its "original form". but when talking about recent tours when he has been spending so much time in America, there is an amerian influence. when talking about one direction (the sweden part I think it's about 1d), he has an Irish influence probably because he's thinking of niall back then.... so yeah :)

I grew up and live in SE Wisconsin. At about 8:11, Harry said “time” just like we do in the Midwest. When you said it, you added in a southern twang like what you would hear in the Carolinas, Alabama, Georgia.
Funny you picked up on the Irish sound of American English: I'm originally from the south of England and I immediately heard so much of the Irish accent in American English when I first started living here. I live now near Boston, where the Irish population has traditionally been large and influential, but I think this influence had a very strong affect on early American English in general. I grew up and live in SE Wisconsin. At about 8:11, Harry said “time” just like we do in the Midwest. When you said it, you added in a southern twang like what you would hear in the Carolinas, Alabama, Georgia.
Funny you picked up on the Irish sound of American English: I'm originally from the south of England and I immediately heard so much of the Irish accent in American English when I first started living here. I live now near Boston, where the Irish population has traditionally been large and influential, but I think this influence had a very strong affect on early American English in general. I'm also an ESL teacher, so I love this kind of analysis!
