I've been eyeballing Islander for a while, not overly impressed. However, I sprung for the charcoal Islander Port Jeff. Specs notwithstanding, which quite frankly blows a lot of sub $1k watches out of the water, the value is incredible. I walked away paying exactly $292. Islander is one to keep an eye on. 🤙
Islander watches - VERY creative, mind blowing variety, all at an efficient, low overhead, Made to high standard in USA with a reasonable price range. I bought the full lume brain coral Ti diver. Instantly took the 1 spot in watch case. Great watches.
Mark is just killin it. I knew this has been coming for a while, and I’m stoked! The colorway options are a little out there imo, but Mark obv likes to explore colors. Tremendous tremendous effort.
LIW offers the best value by a large, large margin. I own two Islanders and, holding them in-hand, you would never say that they are sub-$500 watches. Unless you crave Omega, Tudor, Longines, etc. on the dial, there is really no need to shop elsewhere.
LIW are producing a really nice watch. Just a small reference for comparison: Glycine Combat is 10.4 mm thick, 200 m water resistant, Swiss automatic watch with SW-200 movement and sapphire crystal. All of that for less than $300
Looks like Salmon to me, not even close to an Orange Dial which really would have knocked it out of the park. Like this piece a lot and also your reviews. New Sub.
Such a well done piece, but what is up with the minutes/seconds track? Was an hour or minute broken down further, without announcement? LOL! And, out of the colors that you could have been sent, they give you 1977 Band-Aid® flesh tone!
Wow! So great! At last someone introduced a diver. Been looking for one for several years and been unable to find a single one. Perhaps this will encourage other brands to take the leap and offer a dive watch.
@@hootonhoot To be fair I have a couple of dive watches, myself. But like 99%+ of dive watch owners I never subject them to any more water than a few drops in a spring shower. The diver style offers some advantages in terms of "everyday" wear. But I find the fact that it dominates the entire market for watches to be as ridiculous as the domination of the automobile marketplace by SUVs that never see anything more challenging than a rare gravel road.
Personally, without the brand heritage and lengthy history other than LI watches, the price point to me is over priced. It’s cool he now wants to be called a micro brand, but let’s get some history of Islander behind you first before jacking up pricing
Man I bought this based off your review just got it in today,what a huge disappointment!can’t see the logo on the dial,bracelet feels like it was made out of a tin can!and that minute track on the dial is useless!wth!this watch sucks!
