  • In this video, I'm going to share my experience as a wheelchair user trying to access a local bank. The experience was so terrible and frustrating. It is sad that People with disabilities still have to deal with disability stigma and ableism everywhere they go. Here's my story and why we need to do more to change it and be more inclusive.

That's horrible man! Thanks for sharing and for being patient in the process. They shouldn't do that at all.

The experience was really rough, bro. I sent them an email later when I got home with suggestions on how to make the experience better for their disabled customers.

This is really unfortunate, How I wish this bank could revisit their policies this is unacceptable to be honest. Very sorry my friend. Thanks for educating and bringing awareness as well

It's unfortunate for sure. I did send them an e-mail afterwards, explaining how the experience was and what I think could be done better next time. Hopefully they'll consider implementing some of the suggestions. Thank you for watching.

Unbelievable. Wow. They need to retrain their staff on disability issues.

It's really unbelievable, very sorry that you had to go through that. Goes to show that alot still needs to be done in terms of awareness concerning disability. You also have just made me realize something which I think is actually been overlooked - do we have any banks that have wheelchair accessible doors? Some, if not most of our banks have doors that have small widths, and these goes to many other places of business. Something really needs to be done.

Inaccessibility is still a very big problem in our country. People with disabilities, especially Mobility impairments, struggle to access services because of it. At some point I even failed to access the registrar's office,

So sorry to hear this Mr Shu, all places of business need to ensure that places are wheelchair friendly. That was wrong of them to make you wait like that and then that silly excuse of their systems.

You are absolutely right, we need to stop thinking of accessibility as a special privilege. It's a basic human right. Thank you for watching my video.

Thank you for watching, and for sharing your experience as well. There's a lot of attitude adjustment within the employment sector in general as far as disabilities are concerned.

As for "Can You Write", I think that was just uncalled for, I mean with the fluency with which you speak. Anyway thanx for sharing your experience. I do hope that accessibility issues be taken seriously by business owners and also training be offered to staff members in dealing with clients with special needs.

That particular phrase was indeed annoying and a little bit of an Overkill, so unnecessary, like you said. Hopefully, the feedback email I sent them was taken seriously.
