Yeah, we’re getting a powered down Fire one way or another. That cheap McMoFo ain’t sculpting a whole halter top unless he plans on using it again. Todd is like a customizer that looks through his fodder to decide what character he should make next.
At least with the hardcore customizers you get some character consistency. Like, if they've started the Justice League they'll usually finish it. McFarlane's just giving us random characters.
Hopefully with a new hair sculpt!
Man, that Sgt Rock is a disaster! As a reader of Sgt Rock for decades, that is just an insult! Not really impressed with any of these figures. Sub-par work. :(
Yeah it's an abnormal for 2024 off wave. Lots of questionable decisions all around.
@@LylesFigureFiles The Sgt Rock figure bothers me the most because Rock rarely gets the action figure treatment, and we get this hot-mess! It's pretty a pretty pathetic showing from McFarlane. This wave just says, "we don't care about what we're doing" to me.
McFarlane, making you the figure you want - in a way that you don't want it.
Fire’s hair: “Lettuce entertain you!”
LOL. Well done.
Probably passing on this wave. Did pre order that BAS batmobile from target.
Same and same
Nice! That looks sweet.
God forbid an Army Sgt have guns....
If McFarlane was smart- He would of made SGT Rock, Enemy Ace, Unknown Soldier & all them _Our Army at War_ & _Star Spangeld War Stories_ classic combat DC characters in scale w/ GI JOE CLASSIFIED & Action Force!
> So fans & customers could use them interchangably. He would of sold waaaay more units. Make A Tank for them & Enemy Ace's plane. WOULD OF SOLD like pancakes to hungry lumberjacks.
SMH.
Yeah, that one makes zero sense.
As soon as I couldn’t get Punchline, I deleted all
My other stuff in carts. These companies are not gona make enough and play games when stuff sellouts instantly. Then I’m not supporting that platform or the toys.
Hopefully Punchline shows up on secondhand sites and isn't scalped to death by greedy people.
Did you want the non-autographed version? amzn.to/3VFHDn9
I'm not so disappointed with mettallo 😂❤
I'm glad someone is fine with it :-)
@rickytoddbotelho955 I like him the only one I like from the wave
I really like the Batman and Superboy ( Connor Kent) very cool, Rocko is nice but you'll definitely have to give him some weapons lol
Yeah, he's gonna need a weapons kit ASAP!
If Fire had a few new parts and went with her jacket design, they could have possibly used the jacket parts for Black Canary and 90s Wonder Woman.
Right. A 90s Wonder Woman would have so many collectors outraged LOL.
DC made it mandatory that no guns could be included with any of their products. This ban has slowly begun to lift, so perhaps future figures can have them. But that was the reason for why Sgt Rock had no gun. McFarlane has however made a separate weapons pack you can buy that will facilitate any number of his characters if you don't already have a spare rifle in your stash.
Yep it's still wild they would shoot down guns, but be fine having figures made of killers like Joker.
Sargent Rock looking rough especially in the face sculpt, and not giving him a gun just seems petty at this point.
Yeah, the lack of weapons for a WW2 soldier is just silly.
McFarlane is just lazy. He did Fire like that because when he makes the non-translucent version its just gonna be the same.
"A LITTLE bit disappointed?" WOW. Whatever that is, its not Sgt Rock. Sgt Rock didn't have a beard, he didn't wear knee pads, he didn't wear a vest (or have torn off sleeves if that's what that is supposed to be....this clown needs to know that WWII is not Vietnam). The boots are wrong, the absence of his signature ammo bands is wrong, not having his weapon is wrong. If Todd wasn't allowed to use guns then he shouldn't make the figure at all. The whole thing is just wrong. But if you people are fool enough to pay $30.00+ for this garbage, that's on you.
Todd does tend to miss some vital details of character's costumes, but folks might just like the figure without needing to be fools.
I would wager to say that Todd is probably the final approval on all of his lines. I think that could be a mistake as it doesn't allow for any consistency. It's almost like each release is evaluated individually as a stand-alone figure. As opposed to making sure there is consistency on aesthetic, scale, and detail across the line. I think there needs to be some compartmentizaion across their lines over at Mcfarlane.
The scale really needs to be the thing they focus on the most going forward. It's too bad when great looking figures are too tall or too short.
I got up for work one morning and just happened to check BIG bad toy store and they had a Wonder Woman.
I got her for 40$❤
Man, that still seems expensive. Hopefully you dig her!
I never bought and of the McF DC figures because of the weird 7" sale. I thought I was going to pick up Sgt Rock because I thought there was chance I could squeeze him into my GI Joe shelf, but that figure looks terrible so I will continue not buying any McF figures.
No their 7" scale won't work with a 6" line even if you fudged it.
This Batmobile shows us two things 1) the Hell Charger would have failed for any price point. if folks have problem with this price. 2) This what the Hell Charger should have cost without extras should have been and once you had the extras it's 100-25 after the flames and unmasked Robbie early bird. Then you add the three tiers at $25 each and you're at $200. I'll extend it to 225 if you want to really cover the cost of the flame effects.
Yeah, that $80 seems solid to me. Hasbro did overestimate the cost of the Charger though as all those bells and whistles weren't necessary.
The Fire figure re-uses the Knightfall Catwoman body, that's why she have the heels. Todd used this same buck for Supergirl and Starfire, and it sucks.
Thank you! I couldn't place who was the base for Fire. Such an odd choice for her.
I have nothing good to say about McFarlane, so I won't say anything.
I'm not sticking up for McFarane toys, but there is a reason why they reuse so many parts instead of sculpting new pieces. Apparently it costs around $100,000 every time they create a new sculpt, so I'm not surprised the company reuses so many parts. As for the no guns thing, that's totally down to Warner Bros. The reason why McFarlane gives almost all the figures a trigger finger hand whether the character should have one or not is his way of trolling Warner Bros for their ridiculous rules. If you do want a gun for Sgt Rock, there are always the McFarlane accessory packs. It's not a perfect solution and it sucks having to spend extra for the guns, but at least they are available if you really want them.
Yep. The issue is more the choice of reused parts rather than doing it.
DC still has the Toddfather not making any guns for any figures apparently. Sgt Rocks face is clearly round in the book and they gave him Afflecks chin. Yowza!
Yep, Rock is just all around disappointing.
I think that Metallo is supposed to be sort of an amalgamation that recent storyline plus one of his Silver Age looks, and the concept for the unmade 80s Super Powers figure - using existing parts that McFarlane had. With SO many McFarlane figures, I think you should just rather wait to do it until you can do it right...
I appreciate that he does do new molds, but the reuse for additional figures is pretty weird in too many cases.
@@LylesFigureFiles Yeah, I agree on both points.
pre ordered everything except for that batmobile, its really cool but I only collect the 7 inch lines, seemed out of place for me.
It does look cool. He's got another Batmobile coming soon for you though :-)
I was planning on just getting one Batmobile this year but I'm really liking the animated one.
It does look pretty cool.
I bought fire for a custom. I'm not telling because I hope nobody else does it first 😎
Looking forward to seeing what you do!
Toddfather's M.O. think outside the box and push the envelope opposite of what everyone expects 😅
And that usually tends to work out alright for him :-)
Mcfarlane always gives you 95% of what a classic figure. Example Superman always get an issue with hands or the sleeve cuffs. Wonder Woman the back of the boots and peg. Also the texture on them.
Batman has head size issues. The Diaper needs to go. The Alicia Batgirl the back of her corset is not finished the body Corset should go to the crotch area. It stopped at the waist.
I do hate those sleeve cuffs! I still haven't seen Wonder Woman. Which Batman figure do you think has a properly scaled head?
Is the sculptor of Sgt. Rock the same for Lt. Falcon? My word, they are both atrocious.
Ha! At least Rock looks like a soldier. Not sure what happened with Falcon.
@@LylesFigureFiles Yeah, Falcon looks like a marionette. Like a reject from Thunderbirds.
The wave is honestly pretty bad I look at the metallo and it looks nothing like the box art
Sgt rock should have come with guns he is a soldier
Fire needed an alternate headsculpt with downward hair
Superboy is to skinny
I have no idea what happened with Metallo and the lack of a gun for Sgt. Rock.
My thing is he says female characters don't sell as if he isn't doing the exact opposite of what people have been asking for if a figure of XYZ characters comes out. I missed Supergirl and normally I'd be pissed, like I was when I thought I'd miss Starfire, but I don't really feel any strong type of way because the figure is trash and we deserve another on sturdy legs, a molded super S, and a soft plastic cap. As far as her face... I wasn't really impressed but it's McFarlane.
Folks sure seemed to like that Wonder Woman so it's weird he's going backwards with Fire. I've only heard praises from collectors who have Starfire though.
Manga Batman looks nice, I might pick this up. Sgt. Rock without a gun...just great. WB execs and their silly "no guns" slacktivism strikes again.
It's such a dumb rule considering some of these characters they approve to get made.
I’ll pick up that super boy depending on how tall he is and I like the rookie but I’m not going to buy him unless there’s a sale. Maybe in a year or two Todd will release him by himself one of these days, for around that $40 price point.
I think we can be pretty confident eventually Rookie will hit a sale. Just a matter of how long we'll have to wait.
I only ordered the BTAS Batmobile. Connor Kent is straight reuse of the Spawn/ Todd McFarlane figure. Connor needed a bit more bulk. Manga Batman needed a cloth cape along with all of the accessories that are included. The price point for these Collector Editions is not being validated by these offerings.
Thanks! I didn't catch that reuse of the McFarlane figure! I don't think any of the CE figures really have a great value for the accessories we get.
By making a so-so version of Fire, McFarlane can then claim that female action figures are peg warmers. Superboy is the only decent figure in this wave.
Right. You've gotta do the figures justice before claiming they don't sell.
This whole preorders was a pass except the joker punchline pack thank God since canada doesn't have target I was able to get it through gamestop
Nice! Hope you enjoy them!
Sgt. Rock and Fire will be added to the Malachite Military!! 🎖️ How can I turn away green soldiers? Lol ... I'm sure I can find the Sarge an ammo belt and guns from my vast arsenal of shoe boxes. Hey! It's a hobby habit, or I could buy some from Valaverse Action Force, Mezco, Revoltech weapons etc...
One Love
Bless up!
There you go! You definitely have some green options with these too!
Captain Jeff, sir! LoL. Yes, sir! Green Army Men, Sir! 🫡🪖🪖🪖🪖🪖🪖 ROLL CALL!! My squad contains several "Fortnite Plastic Patrollers"and Hydra Stompers from a bbts clearance sale, and for Classified stand-in Green Shirts;27 Action Force Delta figures, sir! We can greatly use more green troops in the form of this Sgt. Rock green variant--as constructs of Lantern John Stewart! 🙎🏽♂️😁
That was a good clearance sale. You've got a good amount of Force Delta figures! Like that idea of John constructs!
I hate that Luthor, Atomic Skull, and now metallo have the same damned mold. Every superman villain besides the upcoming classic darkseid has the same lexcorp power suit mold. wtf
I hate it for Metallo and didn't get Atomic Skull as a result. We do have Zod though.
Is Sgt Rock a deep cut character in DC? Also, I remember that one of the guys in the movie predator is reading a Sgt rock comic. Also, did you hear that the next Marvel Legends fan stream is this Monday
Sgt. Rock is not a deep cut. Probably the most famous military character in comics history.
That said, that is a horrible representation of him.
Kind of? He had a popular ongoing series in the 60's or 70's so isn't really that relevant today. Yet certain people I've met don't shut up about the guy.
No, he's fairly popular. Yep! Mentioned it on the live last night.
Nope on rock.
I pre-ordered that Sergeant Rock because that was literally the first comic book I started reading in the 80s as a fourth grader when I was grounded and I just pre-ordered Sarge and it cost me $42.11 I'll never order another one that's ridiculous
Where did you pre-order?
@@LylesFigureFiles McFarland store if it's a main release I just should have waited I hunt at least every other day I don't have a big day tomorrow I'll do about five Ross 1 Ollie's
Three targets 3 GameStops Walmart's been a bust here I usually just don't mess with Walmart anymore
FYI I'm in the Memphis I have a ton of stores that's for sure especially in the surrounding cities as well
Do you get this far down the list lol you going to Joe fest by chance got My ticket reserve my hotel today I've never been
About as good as every other figure I have seen from this line.
LOL
That Fire looks ROUGH
Yeah, he could have done her so much better.
@LylesFigureFiles you were much too kind to it. Conner looks cool tho. If he was 1/12 I'd get him in a heartbeat. Might still get him for my homie's kid that I give DC figs I just wanted to handle once to. (Sometimes I keep the accessories as a tax because he's six (6) anyway so maybe that pavement piece is going to She-Hulk.)
I have nothing to add ,what you said
All the versions of Metallo, and this is the one Todd picks.... WTF....😒
I appreciate him actually going with a different look. It's just the execution is so lacking.
I just want a New 52 Batman
Geesh, I hadn't realized they still haven't done him yet.
@@LylesFigureFiles yeah right?! It’s killing me lol
Missed the mark? More like misfired entirely. Fire? Sgt Rock? WTH? Who in the @#$#@ approved those to get released? And what in the name of flying bananas led them to release that version of Metallo and do it such injustice?
I liked that he did a different take on Metallo, but they really botched that design all around.
I po'd metallo but missed the punchline pack 😟
Here's the non-autograph Joker/Punchline set: amzn.to/3VFHDn9
@@LylesFigureFiles thanks Jeff, I was hoping target would have some non aouted so I could use my red card, I guess I can't avoid Amazon forever.
This is a bad wave, imo, the execution. Ooof. Manga Batman and Superboy looking good, though.
I like both of them too.
If Sqt Rock was G.I. Joe scale it would not matter that he has no guns
You are right.
Was hoping for Fire but the face looks too disney cartoonish to me.
It's a weird choice for her all around.
I wasted so much today got 1 of each
Nice!
Other than size comparison I prefer those over classified and legends and I'm up to date on both lines to me Todd's detail is way better on 90% of the figures I used to be the biggest the best the most detailed cheaper now they're the most expensive
In general the DC line isn't nearly as bad as some collectors make it out to be.
Sgt. Rock is a total dud!
I'm disappointed with how he turned out too.
I peaked with the Platinum Edition Azrael Batman Armor Knightsend. Can’t support this 💩 show of a toy line anymore.
Like every line they definitely have some misses. The hits are solid though.
Absolute garbage figure. No Thompson, no ammo belt. Speaks volumes about the producer. Pass.
I know Warner Bros./DC doesn't want the figures to come with guns. Wonder if that mandate also applies to ammo belts? It's definitely not a McFarlane thing though as their other partners for figures/collectibles have to play by the same rule.
