      Yes! So this and ultimate slayer are two I didn’t get to address in the video. I recorded this pre-vancouver and they weren’t as much on my radar. Both would go in the row that targets specific decks, they’re solid choices vs unchained!

    this is absolutely the video I was looking for right now, me and my group are going to a regional soon and have been discussing sideboard options all week so this video is extremely helpful. Didnt mind the length at all, really enjoyed how each card got a dedicated discussion and analysis. I feel like these kinds of videos really help me understand the format better and help when deckbuilding for events. One question I have is how important do you think it is to include cards as a time win con. I want to put spooky dogwood in my sideboard but dedicating 3 slots to it seems really difficult (I am playing unchained if that helps!).

  • @ErroneousNickname
    @ErroneousNickname ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Important to mention for Skull Meister, its not once per turn, but its also a fiend itself, meaning in unchained you can add it back with rage's grave effect when you escape, and then get it back to use again. I don't know if this adds to its viability but its an extremely funny interaction

    Some interesting cards to look into as well are cards like ice dragon’s prison, ultimate slayer and gravekeeper’s insciption. Thrust setting a IDP in the mirror for example feels killer. You mentioned in the deck profile how you felt dbarrier was a comfort pick and not necessary and i cant help but consider IDP. Helps against mono typed decks like rescue ace and dragonlink, the latter being a rising star against unchained. Settable from thrust when the opponent uses nib and bystials in the main phase which 100% of the time is getting used before you make ceasar.

    I think Warning Point deserves more attention, it can negate the effect of a special sommoned monster, it cannot attack and your opponent can't use it as material to summon their extra deck monster. This card really helped me to interrupt combos and even if your opponent never intended to use it as material, it still has value because the monster still cannot attack. Weaker against Labrynth for sure but never entirely useless.
    I also think Red Blossom from Underroot is a good card too. It lets your banish a trap or spell card and one of your opponents spel/trap cards from the GY, you can special summon her and tribute her to either banish one of your or your opponents extra deck monsters from the GY. It also allows you to special summon one of your extra deck monsters from the GY if it's a different card type. Very good in a Kashtira deck i can tell you that but i think it's good in generell because it can banish two cards from your opponents GY and gives you one of your extra deck monsters back. But you need spel/traps in both GY's to use it first effect and for the second one an extra deck monster in either of your GY's which can make her useless for a certain amount of time. But i think she is still a good card.

    Awesome vid. I could be off, but if you were to consider giving a brief read or summary of the effect of these cards that would be perfect. As a returning collector and player, I had to pause and lookup a few of them which broke up the experience. One note for mistaken arrest, it’s until the end of your next turn, so it could in theory last anywhere from 2-3 turns. Let’s say you go into floo, they went first, and they’re playing on your turn you can activate mistaken arrest in chain to like a robina or something, they don’t search and don’t get the additional summon. Then if you clear their board on their turn they still can’t search. Then on your turn they can’t search that turn either.

    This was great list agreed with almost every single take, the only take I was very in disagreement with was actually pankratops, I’ve been running it in my side for a hot while and it’s honestly just better than fenrir vs boards rn, fenrir will eat a disruption and end up not clearing what you desired most likely, pankratops on the other hand will rather than eat a disruption decide what to disrupt, snd the fact it can pop anything while tributing itself is crazy, not to mention with such high attack it’s posible to clear over threats first and then pop, I do believe it is ridiculously underrated, but yes it’s only meant for going second, fenrir is by far the better overall card but pankratops alone nets way too much value going second for how simple it is.

    Hi Jesse. I’m a fairly new player but I quickly took interest in the metagame of yugioh and your channel is like a gold mine for information. I want to ask you why in your opinion “called by the grave” is limited. I feel like this is one of the less problematic cards that could come off the limited list (just as servant of endymion did and it obviously did nothing to the meta). I’ve played master duel for a whole year before going to paper, and honestly the semi-limited restriction feels more acceptable for this card. I’m curious to know your opinion.

    What about Chaos Hunter? "Freely" special summon & Fluxgate (a niche/side deck option)? Perhaps you'd like a specific card in the graveyard... & after siding, especially when going second is this card 99% alife. If so, which deck relies on banishing cards excessively and is crucial for their playstyle, potentially a Tier 2/3 Rogue deck as a side deck option?

  • @HapsterHap
    @HapsterHap ปีที่แล้ว

    Honestly Ultimate slayer is so close to playable right now. Unchained already has XYZ and links to send for Kash, Purrely, and the Mirror (and sending Yama is almost a plus) plus, shuffling back Rage & Caesar is stronger than sending them to the GY.

    Hi Jesse, thanks for the thorough analysis! I’m fairly new to the game and this helped a lot to understand, which cards are good. I’d like to start building a main/extra deck staples binder, so I only need one playset of each card for my decks. Could you show us what a pro players (basic) staple collection looks like and how you decide which cards from new sets you put in such a staple binder?
    I know, it’s a very beginner question and I‘d understand if you can’t take the time for something like that, but I think this would be a very cool reference guide for new and starting players 😅

    Is Raigeki missing because you just don't think it's worth considering compared to Dark Hole/Storm or simply forgot?
    Also curious what your thoughts are on Prohibition as it's a Side card that will always have some relevance and certainly seems to fit the definition of staple.
    Only other thing I can think of to cover is maybe Twin Twister and different options for dealing with backrow.
    1:00:23 As for Super Poly in Chimera Branded the primary target is Guardian Chimera; you don't care so much about losing the on-summon effect given it has coverage into any matchup and if they do go wide you're plussing anyway(you invest 2 cards to remove 3 names but without the boom/bust dynamic of Sphere Mode where you lack the option to lose a bit on efficiency in order to clear consistently). If they overextended it's perfect and if not you still break even by eating two monsters and 3300 in play means you're well on your way to OTK Territory. If it's just one monster then I guess that's fair but if we're accounting for that then Lava Golem can't be considered better than Kaiju's. As for Purrely Noir, that is a real concern; I wouldn't play Super Poly as my only removal option but seems like there isn't a perfect card that covers all bases such that would be a litmus test for playability.

What would be recommend to swap out for judgment sin my side deck since blowout cards like Evenly, Duster, etc. are strong against Traptrix. I have used Anti Spell Fragrence in the past since it helps against stuff like duster, lightning Storm (but not evenly) so I might just do that If I don’t get a good recommendation.

      be very strong for a while.

    well d.d crow also banishes shyama and usually without shyama they lose not just part of their recursion but their ability to access rank 6 xyz and if you cant easily get into caesar you can't easily get into machinex and assuming that I'm not wrong if you use d.d crow as chain link 2 against yama you stop yama from special summon another card from hand or grave because you banished yama and your opponent didn't also unchained doesn't have access to good lv.3 fiends so if you take away their ability to make rank 6 xyz chances are that all they will have is link monsters and with fewer resources they might not be able to perform well enough to be more than a low tier 1 because without access to rank 6 xyz their best cards might be under world goddess and knightmare gryphon which isn't nothing but if your decks are made well enough unchaineds' only reason for being good won't be enough to call it the best deck anymore let alone be worth placing it in the top 5 decks anymore this is the weakest deck to be in the top 5 best decks by modern yugioh standards as of this year and probably last year to other than for the few advantages it has over salamangreat it's almost on the same level as them and as a deck thats supposedly supposed to be the best deck because it doesn't play into most hand traps and not a lot of board breakers are that great against them the utter lack options, the lack of powerful options powerful enough to even meet todays standards and future standards, and it being killed by bystials and d.d. crow I think the only reason why it became deck everyone plays is because people want a format where almost everything is optional and it's about the monsters, cards like dark ruler no more, and trap cards and the vast majority of people are tired of cards like dimension shifter, nibiru, and dimension barrier that cause unfair win scenarios and want them banned and gone forever you can deal with arise-heart, you can deal with raigeki, and you can deal with a card like winda but all these other cards like shifter, nibiru, and dimensional barrier are toxic and they put a big cap on what you can play competitively, and they can limit how we play decks that can compete especially if it's a xyz, link, or synchro strategy that would be good if being able to summon baronne or galaxy eyes photon lord wasn't a requirement people want the suspense of who has better resource management skills, who is more skilled in using their resources, and who has most resources monster battle after monster battle turn after turn that we lost when we got these toxic equalizers at least if your hit with dark ruler no more you can potentially keep part of your board and you'll probably survive with nibiru you generally lose your whole board and die to nibiru and other cards that make up at least 5k damage that includes a card like fenrir or something else to get rid of the token yeah and that doesn't sound the least bit fair to me and it will only be fair when every deck has their own baronne
