    Should point out that Maths and Stats is run out of the Statistics department, and Discrete Maths the Computer Science department, (each with separate admissions tutors) so this doesn't really reflect on Warwick maths.

      Oh yes, I’m aware :-) I had to email both haha. If I said Warwick maths it was probably just shorthand - I’ll correct that in the description. Thanks for spotting that!

    Universities can really waste your time. Simple things that could be solved if they gave it the proper attention the first time get dragged out over months. Imperial really messed up my application. There was very poor communication between staff members and they feed you a lot of misinformation. I know exactly how felt.

      Tell me more about your experience! Went through the same with Bristol too lol...

      @@zetch972 I was an early entry student so I applied on the 11th of October through UCAS. The university gave me advice that I could change course to another engineering discipline during the application process and that this was common. Within less than a week of applying I attempted to change my course to a very similar one by asking them in an email (mech eng from des eng) . Note that this is well before they would even start considering applications and it is fairly easy to make this change. A few weeks later I was offered an interview for the des engineering course that I had applied for originally with still no response about my attempt to switch. Now a number of weeks later change my course to the mech eng course and I asked should I still go to this Interview? There was no response at all. After the interview period passed with I contacted them by phone and they said I should have still gone to the interview to see what it was like and I could decide later I didn't have to pick explicitly now. It was also implied that the des eng interview would have sufficed for the mech eng course as well. They said I should contact UCAS to have it changed back to des eng so they could give me the interview and then put me throught to which ever course. I contacted UCAS and they said that only the university can change me course. They switched me back to des eng after some back and forth emails so they could supposedly give me another interview now. I was then contacted by another random individual totally out of the blue and asked what course I want to do again and told to make up my mind right there and then even though I had been clear about the course I wanted to do since October never implied otherwise(This is around Christmas time) . They finally switched me back. And then a few days later I was rejected with no reasoning and no interview. I felt like they just couldn't be bothered anymore. This all happened over months from October all the way to January time. There was just poor communication from staff and random people emailing me with no consistent contact and loads of miss information about changing course and interviews. I had a very strong application which the des end department also said and was above entry req so I can't see why I didn't get an interview at least. And the person telling me the process was flexible and all that sort of stuff was the head of the department. I've probably explained this really poorly. In short if they had just said you can switch or no you can't switch in October or November this would have been so much easier. I spent month of energy to not even be given a chance.

    I study biology at warwick and while I don't know a lot for the maths department coming to this uni was one of the biggest regrets I made no support, so much racism and discrimination is left unresolved and people can be so snobby so you made a good decision

    Warwick modern languages were awful too

      I just get the vibe that the uni values profit over their students’ well-being... the contrast between Warwick and Nottingham has been so stark!

      Savannah Phillips defo! They’re too proud of being a Russel Group uni and they think they can sell places just because they have that status. I go to Aston and it’s much better here, heard Notts is good too!

      Why are they horrible? . So I have a modern language offer from Warwick to study this September but I’m thinking of switching to surrey because I get bad vibes from Warwick do you think I should ?

    • @gd4761
      @gd4761 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sofiaa3766 absolutely switch to Surrey, it’s a great uni. Warwick don’t care about their students and the course is very antiquated. Non RG unis like Surrey take a more contemporary approach which is better for your employment prospects. Don’t be fooled by the glitz of the name “Warwick University”
