  • Does the absence of reliable aggregate accounting information harm society? Drs. Matt Glendening and Ken Shaw, both faculty members in the School of Accountancy at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business, addressed important issues surrounding misinformation and the macroeconomy, including:
    - Academic-based proxies of fraud risk, including their measurement and ability to predict firm-level outcomes
    - The application of these indicators in tracking widespread misinformation in the economy
    - The real consequences of aggregate misinformation for macroeconomic activity
    - Research documenting that aggregate misreporting measures can aid in forecasting recessions and real GDP growth
