Siding contractor is a pro. A true pro knows their place and limits liability. He also provided work to another pro that will make sure the job is done properly. Sure it's an easy job but siding guys shouldn't be touching AC units. We need to create work for all the trades.
Probably would have been better if they just installed the j channel around the lineset cover. Now the lineset cover will be secured to the siding into the sheathing not allowing the siding to expand and contract and may cause siding issues, but then again that should have been the siding contractor making that call. Just future thought from having helped installing siding many moons ago for a short period of my life.
that's great, until the system needs replaced and line-set cover is also wrong/bad shape. then you have a huge missing siding mess, vs. a few holes and shadow line.
@throttlebottle5906 or the siding buckles and fails from not being able to expand and contract as it's manufacturers intended it to hence the overlap and specified not to fully sink the nails or glue it in place etc.
@@robfahey1349 it will be fine as long as that's the only solid anchored point and the nailing is done properly. they'll likely use long deck screws to re-attach line cover and just snug it to not buckle the siding, that will flex and move enough to not cause issues.
and color coded flashing behing it details, but yea j channel, it need expansion plus be water tight. Interesting. caulking fails in vinyl too much movenent
Another reason to not install mini splits. That is just me though. I think they are the worst thing to ever happen to residential heating and cooling. I hope you guys are healthy and happy out there. 😊
the world uses mini splits, have for decades, the U.S. is always behind in most stuff. My 5 mitsubishi mini splits are great, heating and cooling, saves me a fortune all year energy and costs. SILENT inside and out, More and more minisplits are selling, because people are waking up
Yeah there can be a mulitiude of issues if not installed coorrectly and maintained regularly. The biggest problem I've seen is the inability to find parts a few years down the road when the manufacturer changes the product or goes out of business.
Make the trades great again Mikey Pipes. #loveBosch Smash that like folks. Smash it for Peter. SMASH IT!!!

I looked at one of those mini split linesets funny the other day and the shit started leaking at the flare connections.
I spy an antenna and weather station. probably a hambone (ham radio operator). lol
I saw that as well!
"Big ole jet airliner"
Chris who awesome in Florida ❤
Why overly complicate an issue with so many other scenarios
Just messy install. Wires everywhere hanging around the house. East side style
Dam bro just clicked your latest and its set to private.😢
That was a short that is now public
@@PipeDoctor just watched it. 👍
smart contractor, it's a huge can of worms and liability otherwise.
