Times change....but the sea just keeps on rolling in (2.04-2.24) and I love the shots of the 60s cars coming and going. That doesn't change either, but there are a whole lot more of them now on the roads!.....nostalgic vid. x J x
I remember that fair, we lived in Portsmouth in the sixties. I have photos of my sister and I on that very colourful roundabout with the stripes! lovely memories
Gosh, that brings back memories ! I had a summer job at the candy floss and hot dog stall at Billy Mannings . I remember the morning my O -level results came in 😊
The Portsmouth of my Childhood/youth/late teens. I remember my nan and I sitting on the sea front just looking across to the Island in the Summer of '72 when I'd just started my final year at college. The following Easter she died aged 59 - 1 day before her 60th birthday. She used to run a little shop on Commercial Road called Shop & Save, but the Ss fell off so we referred to it "Hop & Ave".
My Dad lives in Southsea, he took us there in 1970, he tried to false me on the rollercoaster, I was so scared, they stopped the ride to let me off. That was a big funfair for the size of the area, and it’s still there now, all those years later. Thank you xxx

Had to chuckle at the wall advertisement saying '' lets be gay at Billy Mannings'' how times and terminology change.
