    There is a detailer that promotes these products in Australia and its the one and only Sandro from car craft auto detailing. He's in my opinion the best detailer on TH-cam because of his in depth paint correction before coating videos.Most of his coating jobs are with NV pro which is their flag ship product.
    If you can get some of that coating I think you will be very happy.

    I own & use both Lustre and Jet. The "magic sauce" is to apply Lustre for the filling, paint darkening & gloss properties, then apply Jet on top of it to protect. Great combo!

    Hey Jon. Fellow Aussie detailer. Great to see NV make it on your channel. Jet is a crazy hydrophobic ceramic spray coating and Lustre is similar but has fillers and great at enhancing gloss. These products have been available for the last 3+ years here in Oz. They also have a crazy AIO/ceramic primer called NV Morph. It's like Carpro Essence but on crack! Better gloss and correcting ability.

      Hey mate, I'm in Sydney, Australia. I recently purchased Nova Jet and Lustre but haven't got around to using them. Been so busy..
      Anyway, I was thinking to use Lustre as a foundation coating, then after it cures, go over it with the Jet for that insane hydrophobic effect plus UV protection. Why would you do it any other way right ?

    • @badermubaslat4977
      @badermubaslat4977 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep. That is correct. Lustre as the base coating then top it off with Jet.

  • @stevegreer1963

    For about a year, I have been using NV Lustre and NV Boost. They are very expensive, but I reserve both products for my garage queens. The Lustre has fantastic saturation characteristics on black paint with great gloss and depth. I use it as a topper to CSL/EXO base coating. I have not found an SIO2 topper that looks as good as NV Lustre, which is a huge plus! I apply Boost about every 2nd or 3rd wash as that final drying aid wipe with a very fine mist. It seems to “boost” the effects of the Luster, which realistically last about 3 months. Both of these products are reserved as a top shelf application. Although they are WAY too expensive to use regularly on daily drivers, I don’t mind paying extra for application on my Chevelle and Corvette. These products are “that good!” As for the other products in the NV lineup, I can’t see the advantage in paying those prices for shampoos, wheel, glass cleaners, etc. But, Lustre and Boost are worth the money for the queens. Great video Jon.

    Loved this review Jon -always like a brand run through from FDC. You can really sense the weight of experience and knowledge behind your judgements….i think the biggest talking point is the price. £27 for 500ml detail spray - wow that’s a whopper! Compre it to AutoQD at 1:9 and you’re in a different universe. I was surprised at 6 months durability claims…always skeptical about those…

    Always good to hear your feedback when we get a new brand make it's way over to us, so thanks for that. They have a ceramic coating called Evo which is supposed to be pretty epic, it certainly looks good from the videos I've seen of it. Might be worth considering it for any ceramic coating content you have planned for the summer (if any) as there seems to be a bit of movement in that market with Gyeon re-releasing their lineup.

    That is a fair review and like how you've described what you like about the products, I agree with Jon about bigger bottles for the professionals to get a handle on the brand.
    I also like to see 'Jet' being used and pitted against another beeding product.
    Also If you're reading this Jon I'd love to see a review on the most beeding hydrophobic bling LSPs pitted against each other is another one of your shoot outs, perhaps see what the new Gyeon EVO range has to offer? I'm really into extreme beeding/ sheeting water behaviors 🙌

    Great review, and I agree with pretty much everything you said. Nv is like the hot new night club that doesn't have a sign over the door but everyone wants to go there and buy $25 drinks. It's something new, and worth a look but after a while you realize you can get the same drinks at your regular place. I think their products are very good, and their ceramic coating is top tier and not that expensive, but they lack a presence in large markets and their price points are going to make it a hard sell for detailing supply companies to carry it, especially if they don't have bulk discounts. If their prices were comparable to say Gyeon/CarPro, I think they would be much better positioned in the premium market.

    Thanks John. You're quite right that price may hinder the UK market. I'm in Aus and we see the same issues with products like Bilt Hamber or Koch Chemie. We can buy 4L containers of NV down here so that brings the price down considerably. Lustre and Jet are both standout products. If used indivually can last 5-6 months. There is also improved results when layering the products, both individually and together. I usually do 2 layers of Lustre followed by 2 layers of Jet. Interestingly when used together they don't last quite as long. More likely 3-4 months or durability. Lustre is so nice and slick with its application and Jet does feel a little grabby. A little goes a long way with both products. NV also make some excellent Ceramic Coatings for both DIY or Professionals. Application is super easy too.

      Yes! This ^^ when I see the UK and USA products and how much they cost here vs there it's exactly the same. If you were to buy 4L of NV Snow and Snow + in Australia its about equivalent to £39 which just gets to under £1 for a full foam cannon bottle and £.50 for a bucket wash

    I’ve been dabbling with this line over the last year. So far Jet and Boost are the only stand outs for me; Jet durability is second-to-none so far as it has easily lasted half a year and is still going (I did three coats upon application). However, as you mention on most of these, they are so expensive that they really need to be incredible to win-out over others. I will be going back to the Obsessed Garage arrangement this spring.

    You forgot to mention that Purify is first an Iron Remover and then a clay lube. It’s a 2 in 1 product. Boost its also one of the easiest detailers I’ve worked with.

    Random comment, I measured the pH of Snow+ neat using my digital pH meter(not a cheapo) and it was 12.5! I love Nv products, other than Boost, which is smeary. Purge is the best wheel cleaner I’ve ever used. You need to use it on heavy soil. Clarity is definitely to be used as a panel wipe as well.

  • @BrianW1612
    @BrianW1612 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Good review Jon & pretty much spot on. I'd be keen to try Lustre & Jet but the price is just massively off putting. I already have plenty of excellent spray sealants at a fraction of the cost so for me I just don't see the performance being that much beyond the competition to justify the price. I don't see this brand being successful unless the cost comes down as even premium brands like Gyeon who are much better established offer products like Can Coat which I know is superb & likely superior to Jet at a far cheaper price.

  • @jameshind6644
    @jameshind6644 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I use Nv Lustre and also have Jet and find the gloss saturation with lustre very good. You only have to use a small amount on a car so it does last some time. It’s a pity about the price in the Uk as these are good products. I have yet to use Jet as it doesn’t rain here too often. As another commentator explained using lustre as the base coat and Jet on top gives the best result.

    Regarding the Jet, I have one bottle, purchased when first released, and a bottle of it's predecessor, (has about 10% remaining) which have done multiple cars over the last five years, and this stuff is brilliant. I use it twice a year, and having watched you use it, you need to spread it further faster, and those little bottles will last! Best used is Lustre first, one or two coats, followed by Jet over the top. Less really is more, with this stuff! Oh, and the bottle deformation is caused by well sealed caps and your cold climate, product is shrinking with temperature, as do a lot of liquid products.

      The prices are pretty much the same as Australia just with the addition of VAT for UK which is 20% and a small addition for postage
      An example is NV Jet
      £40 AUD which is about £22-£23
      Add on the 20% and you get about £27
      We have priced at £28.95 (excluding the 10% discount you can get using the Forensic detailing discount code)

    How can any company charge £11 for glass cleaner? 27 quid for QD spray too!
    I’m sorry but that leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth once I’ve said it and unfortunately for me has tarnished the brand.

    We need to stop using the term “High End” just because it’s expensive. I’d put money on it, that this brand would be beating in a group test no problem, by the current market leaders. Everything car oriented, from Australia, is out the box for price and it has nothing to do with shipping or import tax.
