It's mainly because in actual F1 races, the cars aren't supposed to colide, so the races tend to act more like a game of keep away as the front runner just goes forward as fast as possible. But here we get actual collisions and action, and thus it is much more exciting to watch. Now of course F1 should never allow collisions because people will get hurt, but that's the fun of racing with no actual people involved.

I used to race marbles on my hot wheels track when I was a teen in the 90s but I never told anyone about it because I felt like I would get teased for it. I had no idea that there were people in the world that made these elaborate and impressive racing setups for marbles. Thank you for helping me realize I wasn't as odd as I thought I was.

Accelerator is a big improvement over the conveyor.
It was a great surprise and this certainly makes a huge difference from previous races. Also, there are several other details to applaud. The light color of the track makes it easy to recognize the marbles. Camera shots are very good too. I am very satisfied with this new format and I am very anxious to see the rest of the season.

@AndrewBanishers if it was a rotating cylinder there would be the change of backsliding and even failing to reach the crescent. If it was an air jet it must be cleanest set up with an even dispersal for all around the zone. Either way, it's cool

Ivory worked HARD for that race tho! Man, still, I'm glad Volcano at least placed somewhat decently, but Nitro just dominated that whole thing. lol

Adding to my comments in qualifying, I think the key for this type of track is to not only add banking to the turns to avoid just taking the outer rim, but also to add DROP.
The last chicane would have been epic with more banking and drop. The straight below could be less sloped and without the guidelines, making the entry to the chicane higher. The drop IN the chicane rather than after would let them hurry down the next straight more dynamically. A little jump or drop-off could be added.
The last turn really needs banking. Half a lane would accommodate all marbles, as flat as it is now.
When marbles all have their own line through a turn, they could overtake more easily. Not they're just bump drafting the outer rim, a waste of tarmac.
The turn after the accelerator might have been placed higher up if the venue allows for it. So much speed. A jump would be nice actually if it can be done such that no marbles get to be shot off the track.
Agreed, also there are too many atenuators.

yeaaah, i was getting a bunch of the video a bit older than this recommended and they were very cure but the funnels were killing me... this is awesome... love multiple laps

Well done, very entertaining.
The concept is awesome. As far as SO many foam bumpers, lose the ones that aren't necessary. Keep the ones that keep momentum going, and maybe put 1-2 on dedicated straight aways. But Nascar is supposed to be about keeping the speed. Most marbles will gain and lose positions based on how they attack corners, anyway.

I really dont like the foam chicanes they break the momentum too much makes the race look choppy and disorganized to me . ps I hope we get some straight up ovals
I disagree, I feel that without the foam barriers, there would not be very much overtaking -- the marbles would stay rougly in the same order throughout the race. (It's true that Nitro kept the lead after lap 10, but there was a lot of jockeying behind them, as Rattlesnake, Rocklide, Volcano, and sadly Ivory can attest!)
However, I would like to say that those chicanes right after the accelerator were clearly the game-changers -- and the camera would cut to them just a little too late to see what exactly happened to the lead marbles (or Ivory in Lap 18) to make them lose that momentum and lose their leads. Rewatching the race multiple times, I found that the camera would cut to the chicanes exactly right as, or just after, marbles are passed. I would have liked to have seen a second or two more of what was happening there on each lap. Otherwise, a great production!

I have to say that I agree. And I say this with much love for this channel. To me this didn’t feel like a race, but just a bunch of randomness. But worry not! I am a big fan of Fubeca and I know the next race will be better!

Ok; first of all, when the video opened, I did a big eye roll and thought, give me a break. Then I started laughing in derision. But then - then! - it became compelling! How in the world??? I can't quite figure out how it works as it's not all down-hill; then I thought magnetic track but to the best of my knowledge, marbles aren't made from magnetic material so I have no flippin' idea how this works but it was really something to see. 'My' girl Ivory - she was doing so well, what the heck happened? Brilliant idea, Marble Runs! And the 'play action commentary' is priceless!

I think it'd be kind of cool to have speed shots on the uphill. A camera close to the track as the marbles whiz by at fast speed. It's cool when NASCAR does it so maybe it'd work here?
These videos need some feel good backstories of the competitors like we get with all other sports. I would love to see the stories of marbles who overcame overwhelming odds, tragedies and heartaches to become world class glass athletes.
